#bestbooksof2022
I think The First Day of Spring is my favorite book of the year.
Incredible book ! I agree with you.
I really liked the book by Tracy Chevalier too.
My book club read The First Day of Spring because of you. We all loved it, and it was one of my favorites too.
Oh this makes me so happy! I’m so glad you all enjoyed it! That must have been a fun conversation- and sad at times too. Such a good book
Interesting reads. Thanks for sharing 😊. I recently read When Dying Is Not a Problem and I really enjoyed it.
Hello April!! I love seeing your face and hearing all the books! Excited for this one
Yay! Thank you!
I LOVED The First Day of Spring so so so so SO much! I think I may have heard about it initially from you.... I don't remember, but it made my tops too!
Wasn’t it the very best?!!
I’m so obsessed with Sorrow and Bliss! It was my fav of 2022 :)
I know!! I watched! I think it’s a brilliant book. Definitely want to read more by her!
My favorite book last year was a surprise to me “Station Eleven”. I believe it’s the base for a TV show. I don’t know TV stuff. I’ve loved some of your books, too; among them Tana French. Have you read the Sean Duffy books and Adrian McKinty in general? Mmmmmm, so Irish and so good!
I’ve never heard of Sean Duffy but I’ve got an Adrian on my shelves!!!
The Book of Cold Cases. Daisy Darker, and Small Things Like These are probably my top favs from last year.
I’ve read all of these and LOVED THEM!!!
Hi April! I'm so happy Tana French's books are in your list. I discovered Tana French last year and managed to devour all of the books in the Dublin Murder Squad series within a few months. They are all so good! I'm a little sad there aren't any more in the series to be read. I have Tana French's other two stand alone books (The Wych Elm and The Searcher) but haven't gotten around to reading them yet. Fingers crossed they're as good as the Dublin Murder Squad books!
Oooo you're in for a real treat. The Witch Elm is my favourite mystery book of ALL TIME!!!!
@@GettingHyggeWithIt That does it! I'm definitely going to read it very soon!
Great video. I've read 2 of those; Faithfull Place and A Single Thread and loved both. My best book of last year was Lily Kings Euphoria.
I will have to check our Euphoria!!
So many wonderful sounding books here, April. Just added The First Day of Spring to my list of books to read. I definitely want to read The It Girl this year. And I liked Sorrow and Bliss ☺
And you'll be pleased to know that you aren't the last booktuber to post their favourites of 2022, I still haven't filmed mine 😂
Oh I hope you love The First Day of Spring!!
The First Day of Spring was tremendous. The audiobook was so well done.
A few of my favs from last year-
We Begin at the End by Chris Whitaker
Notes on an Execution by Danya Kukafka
Murder on the Red River by Marcie R. Randon (this series is really good. You follow an indigenous young woman who helps the police).
Great list April. I’ve been waiting so long to get the audio for Michelle and Harry’s books.
Absolutely! The audiobook was incredible! Oh I have Notes on an Execution on my kobo!!
I listened to the first 2 books in the Dublin Murder Squad this month! I loved the first one, even though it had flaws. She is a fantastic writer.
I was disappointed in the second book. I gave it 3 stars, but I'm thinking about changing it to 4. Again, just because her writing is so awesome.
Edit! I'm SO glad you loved The First Day of Spring! I've been pushing that onto people since I read it last January. It's so, so good!😍
Since you liked it so much, I have to recommend The Last Thing to Burn by Will Dean. It's amazing on audio, so I recommend that too.
I just bought the last thing to burn! It was on sale in the kobo store! Thank you. I’m so glad you’re enjoying Tana French! It’s so funny because I think The Likeness is most people’s least favourite of the bunch and it was my favourite! Weird
@@GettingHyggeWithIt I'm so happy to hear that! I'll be very interested to know what you thought, so I hope you'll do a review!
The Maid? ETA well, I was wrong! Great picks!! I had to fast forward though It Girl and The Faithful place because they are on my shelf and I like to go in pretty blind. Glad I have some good ones!! I’m not surprised though. They are both favorite authors. I’m adding first day of spring to my list!
Oh good guess! I have heard good things about the maid! I hope you love the Dublin Murder squad!
I need to try The It Girl. I haven't yet found a Ruth Ware book I connected with but I want to keep trying! I tried Sorrow and Bliss a while ago after hearing such good things but couldn't get into it. It threw me off with the random snippets in the beginning but I've heard that it gets so much better So I really want to try that one again too this year.
Oh you have more patience than me! When I don't get on well with an author I just nix it and more on!
I love your channel but can’t understand why more people aren’t subscribed.!
Awww you are very kind! There are so many great Booktube channels out there! Maybe they just haven’t found me yet :)
I just finished Faithful Place, and it’s my favorite of the series so far!
I loved that one so much. He might have been my favourite detective of the bunch!
Excellent choice of top book! 👏👏👏 based on your second book, I’d highly recommend Other Women by Emma Flint, I just finished it and it sounds like it follows similar themes 💛
I'll check it out! I don’t think it’s available in Canada yet! But I’ll look for it. Thanks lovely lady!!
Never guessed The First Day Of Spring but I have removed it from my shelf to read soon. My favorite book was the first book of 2022 - The Damage by Caitlin Wahrer , 2nd was Stay Awake by Megan Goldin, and 3rd was Orphan Train by Christina Baker Kline.
I hope you love The First Day of Spring!!! Sounds like you had a great reading year!
I completely agree with your top choice. It was an amazing book.
Wasn’t it brilliant?!!!
I love John Boyne. His new book is also excellent, and I highly recommend it.
I might treat myself to his new one in March!
Great list, April! ❤️📚
Thank you!! 😊
My Favourite book of 2022 was Still Life by Sarah Inman with Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus a close second, highly recommend both 📚 ❤
Oooo i must check them out!
I think it’s going to be a Tracy Chevalier.
Came in at #2!!
I also love Michelle Obama and want her as my BFF! Of course I want you as my BFF too so no surprise we both love her lol. So happy to see you post your favorites from 2022, was worried you weren’t going to post these. Some I haven’t even heard of, I always like your choices.
P.S. My granddaughter Violet was born today! And yes I am going to write down all the stories!
And my favorite book of the year I think was The Guncle. I loved that sweet warm hug of a book!!
VIOLET!!!!! welcome to the world!! Oh I love that name so much and I’m so happy for you Judi!! Oh please give her a little cuddle from me.
Yes! You, me and Michelle! A fantastic trio! I have The Guncle on my kobo! I love that author
My favourite was Greenwood, followed closely by The Women of Pearl Island.
I will have to check them out!
I loved the audio of Spare, I’m sure you will enjoy it 😊
I’m so eager to listen to it!!
I'm reading Spare now and waiting for Michelle Obama's book. I just KNOW I'm gonna love it
Oooooo I’m so jealous! What are you feeling about Spare so far??
@@GettingHyggeWithIt honestly more sad than I expected. I recommend the Netflix show if you haven't seen it
@@TheShadesofOrange I watched that as it was coming out and I was really disturbed by the media and its ties to the institution. Very weird and warped.
Love Michelle Obama, I did not know she had a new book!
It's really good!! I hope you'll pick it up John!!
@@GettingHyggeWithIt I bought it on audible after watching your video. I love her voice too.
My prediction...It's gotta be a Tana French....
So close!! It was definitely in this list!!!
