That's not a Yorkshire accent, it's Manc - which is completely different.
It's got a few little Yorkshire inflections in there, to be fair to him. "on't" and "in't" used multiple times. I'd guess some halfway point like Huddersfield. Halifax or Rochdale where the accents bleed into each other.
It has got similarities tbf and there's something about the manc accent, i can tell canadian from american but i still struggle to place the manc accent most times.
@@FRESHNESSSSSSdefinitely not. It's a full on manc accent that mate.
I'd have that pegged as Manc any day, but to be fair, there are a few Yorkshire inflections in there. To be even fairer, I was born in Yorkshire to a Yorkshire Dad and Derbyshire Mum and brought up in Nottinghamshire . My accent is all over the place!!
@@markowhit4604 Oh it's 90% manc for sure. But as I say, there are some little features in there from down the M62
the police in that video were doing a welfare check on the children from the nursery, considering the man said something like "he'd spend 20 hours in jail AGAIN as i always do" this is clearly not his first run in with police so it was a welfare check against someone who has been jailed before
Doesnt follow he has done anything, anyone can accuse anyone else of anything at any time, police will treat you like a criminal. My ex was accused of something he couldnt possibly have done and they chucked him in a meat wagon(He's disabled btw)in front of all his neighbours, then he had to persue an apology later. He was placed in a cell overnight, when a simple call would have cleared him in seconds!
yes.. detention in Police Custody for that long is for a reason and has to be lawfully written up with good reason. He's a bad un by his own behaviour in this video.
This world is turning into a disgusting hell hole, some people have no social skills and no care for others!
And even worse you have people thinking they have a moral highground and are doing something good by chatting shit about people online.
The Yorkshire and Manc accents are similar because they're both northern cousins, but there are inflections/nuances of speech that are different.
I would describe a Manc accent in its simplest terms as a northerner trying to sound earnest all the time. With sentence endings turned into questions. Whether they're questions or not. The more you listen to each of them the more you'll learn to tell them apart.
earnest all the time lool
Similar? 👀 to who? You can't just take bolton and say people from Manchester sound similar to yorkers 🤣🤦🏼♂️
With that many police officers there, this man has probably had numerous complaints against him and this is not his first offence. Think of Happy Valley and how some people get away with violence. No different in real life.
The police always turn up in large numbers. Even if you are a victim of crime!
absolutelyh right plus.. a warrant is not always necessary.. I am not saying they didnt need one here but he is a trouble maker... listen to him, lol. In certain cirumstanes police can talk to you. listen to him. saying he wants the police's children checked. He is an antagonistic man.. certainly sounds like a welfare vsit to me and if they suspect someone is in danger.. theyu c an break in. under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act. A search without warrant can also take place if a person is under arrest biut only for things to do with that offence.. not a speculative search. By being so argumentatrive and not co operating he is making it harder on himself.. they have come in a group, I have no doubt at all, due to information he is volitile.. sound by his behaviour. He does not know the law.. sorry to say. he thinks he does. he does not. totally agree.
My guess is that they get free child care and he goes into the nursery making demands, citing the law and genarally being obnoxious. He might be in the right and the nursery staff are on drugs...... that is the problem with Karen type videos, easily manipulated to suit agendas and preconceptions.
Exactly this, police in the UK dont need a warrant, which I think throws off some americans. Also the 'protection against tyranny' stuff is laughable. The chap in the video doesn't know the law, is probably a karen to the nursery and by the sounds of it, his kids need to be out of his house.
yeo,, but warrants are used in some circumstances. I wouldn;t expect one in this instance.. a welfare visit. Most people.. REASONABLE people.. would let them in to checkk on children. He is an out and out trouble maker who is volitile.. of course the check has to be made.Big red flag when someone reacts like him. Sadly, people believe people like him. The only good outcome is if the child is ok.. nothing else should matter to him.
You are one of the few Americans on social media that actually visited UK ,maybe one day you'll visit Ireland 🇮🇪, love your videos ❤
The accent was more Salford / West Manchester.
If an aligation has been made against someone do the police not have to by law investigate ? , just open the bloody door and talk to the police if you have nothing to hide .I don't get it .
The onus would be on the police to investiagte the claims made in the allegation by gathering evidence from the claimant (ie. the recording referred to in the clip). The police should then use disgression based on this evidence before proceding to interview and suspects. If it is a serious allegation the police can refer to the CPS to adcertain the likelihood of a prosecution. Often they ignore all of these procedures and simply harrass people.
'scuse the horrendous typos! lol
Allegations are baseless until they are proven. Then they are proof. Until proven guilty, everyone is innocent.
Kind regards,
Your law
@claregale9011 - Well said.
yea, 6 cops show up and your aint done fuck all, sure let em all in
Thank heavens I don't waste my life watching Tiktok
The police were doing a welfare check on children, I understand his caution in opening the door, but I'd get confirmation it was a welfare check, then make sure I was ticked on their list as a responsible parent, it's more fuel against the nursery
not with 5 cops they don't. two cops is enough. THIS IS THEM SETTING HIM UP. It's why they only sent women.
Joel, there are Yorkshire accents much stronger than this! I still think about your trip to York, with all the people out overlooking the river, and you rowing on it! You were a star of the local Radio... I have never seen you so happy. Please come back soon
Do you understand they were following up a threat to a children’s nursery ? I would expect anyone to want to cooperate, but I guess that’s just my age
But you would have thought they would have looked at the video first. They knew where he lived. And he's been down this road before.
The chap with the seagull I'm 99% certain he's Irish. But, he could have been filmed anywhere around the British coastline.
Your spot on he is from Northern Ireland 👍
He says at the start of the clip he's in the middle of Edinburgh.
Definitely NOT Yorkshire (think Sean Bean) - this guy is from Liverpool/Manchester area
Manchester imho ! - he sounded like me!!
@@britblue😂😂😂😂😂😂
You have never been to Liverpool in your life cloth ears! 😆
worked there (Liverpool) for three years! - That's a manc accent!! @@leohickey4953
@@leohickey4953 :XD
OMG. @ItsJps. You’re going to be thinking, Brits are crazy. 😂😂
We are a beautiful people - Al Murray says it is so
omg the clip starting at 7:40 is about 2 minutes drive from my house in the town of Washington which is between Newcastle and Sunderland in NE England. This is the first time seeing a clip of 'Washy' shown in any of these compilations never mind seeing somebody from overseas react to one lol it was surreal.
Pinning down a u.k. accent to U.S. ears must be difficult so props for identifying a northern town/accent
@6:42 That was in Stratford, East London. Explains a lot.
Seagull guy said he was in Galway, Ireland.
Always get a good laugh from your videos .watching here in Yorkshire :)
The man with the seagull has got a Belfast accent but not sure where it was filmed.
Yes it’s true Joel we have a lot of seagulls around the coastline of Britain, in particular seaside towns. So, next time you pass through a seaside town in the U.K, filming your vlogs, and you decide to eat some fish and chips, walking down the narrow streets or along the seafront, make sure you protect your fish and chips at all costs, cos those mischievous seagulls will be gunning for your food. Also, they might drop a surprise too, but according to superstition that brings good luck. 😂 As for British police, our police constabulary act more like social workers than actual police officers, enforcing the law.
They're like flying pitbulls near me 😂😂
@@101steel4I’m in the Isle of Man and I swear they’re on steroids here 😂
Not sure where that was taken but he was definitely a Norn Iron (Northern Ireland) lad.
Good advice - last time I had fish and chips by the sea… the seagulll won!
@@mistergeecee They’re ruthless aren’t they?!
Enjoy your reactions and always enjoy watching and shaking my head in dismay at my fellow country ppl doing fool things. Best clip - 5:50 that was some nice well coordinated polite pedestrian-traffic interaction, with a fist pump from my bredren and the biker to seal the deal , Gwaan
On caravan holidays. You don't actually stay in the van all holiday....its just there to shower and sleep! 😂
seagulls are land birds not sea birds , usually on coastal areas but they travel by air to city's ,where there is food.
They are not land birds, sea birds, it's people encourage them in, it's beyond me why they're protected
Hence they are also known as (merely) gulls...rather than seagulls, except when seen at the coast, or over seas. ('stealing' from fishing trawlers etc).
We have 'flocks' of squawking, mewing gulls here inland, (in S.E.London), due to them nesting on tall buildings.
@@karencooper3428 karen you need to really look and do some research they only go out to see where there are trawlers to skank for fish but they are land birds .
yes they should be protected , like all birds also thoes of prey birds.
They are Gulls you get them around the coast line and inland.
Its a manchester accent , if you want to hear a very broad yorkshire accent watch the film KEZ , its a true portrayal of a barnsley accent , trust me its the best yorkshire film , anyway hi from LEEDS XXX
Maybe it's just me, but I fail to see what's enjoyable about people swearing and shouting at each other. The display of ignorant and rude behaviour is embarrassing.
That’s what makes it funny
@@ryanhelton1865 Not really..
I agree. I hope people don’t think we are all like that.
You actually don’t need a warrant to enter a property as an officer. There is section 17 of PACE that allows officers to break your door down to prevent loss of life or limb, also to search your property for people of concern. People watch too many films. You are not protected in the same way as Americans are legally in the UK. I believe the officer actually says it in the video.
7:27 I think that is Jack Whitehall’s Dad.
The officer on the thumbnail of this video has been a friend of mine since we were babies. He’s amazing at his job! Handles situations very well
You've got that funny look that says you just got out of bed 5 mins ago 😂
Nice to see Sheffield’s finest getting in on the act!
Hmm, I was up there this weekend. Fortunately didn't see her on Castle Street.
Dee da's 😂
happy birthday g
That lad at the window had more of a Manchester accent.
That’s a Manchester accent lovey.
Listen to a video with Liam Gallagher haha it’s a Manc accent (as everyone’s said but you’ll hear it if you listen to someone very Manc)
Hi Joel , I enjoyed watching this video (pierre)
Bruh that were a manky manz not no yorkie ya puddin 😂
I live in east Yorkshire and I have a pet seagull called Cedric. He's cool but has started to bring his baby round. They love cat food. 🕊️
This mad 😂😂😂😂❤
Please don't ever call my accent a Yorkshire accent again 😂😂😂 that was a manny accent, not Yorkie😂😂😂
Erm…we were more offended. That wasn’t the accent of someone from Gods own county of Yorkshire but was…Lancastrian 🤢🤢 oh I feel poorly 🤣🤣 (I’m only teasing lol)
@@cheche2181 Lancaster is nowhere near Manchester 🤣 do you mean Lancashire? Because there's no colloquial for Lancashire. 🤣
@@braddo7270 A Lancastrian is an inhabitant of Lancashire which encompasses cities of Manchester and Liverpool. Lancaster is a city. Lancashire is a county. Lancaster is a city. However it was only a little joke and wasn’t that deep lol

Seagull man is from Derry/Londonderry in N.Ireland.x
5:30 HAHAHA this is ingenious!
the seagull video was in scotland, Edinburgh, but the dude in it was Irish im sure.
Northern Irish . . .
@@The_Original_Geoff_B Ah yeah fair enough, i understand the tension between that lol
Seagul video was in Edinburgh
It’s a mancunian accent (from Manchester)
I live 30 miles from the coast and seagulls live near a waste management site near me.
Guy with the seagull was Northern Irish
Yea yea! I see you, 8:17 Cadbury's cancelled all your future chocolate bar until you come back and give us a fair chance :-)
We aren't all like that...at all!
6:01 shout out for the city of steel
Trust me that ain't a Yorkshire accent, it's from over the other side of the Peaks. But a decent try though, you know more than most Americans.
This was a far from funny video and I was embarrassed by it, and there's a sense that it wasn't what you expected either Joel. I hope it wasn't anyway.
Agreed. Most of these show how far British society has fallen in the last 20-30 years or so. Very depressing. Most of the worst of these clips seem to be people most probably under 40 (with the obvious exception of the foul-mouthed bloke at the end), and shows how steeply the decline in British culture has happened. Makes me sad for the future of this country, when the children and grandchildren of these characters will make up the majority of the population.
2:42 ACAB - All Coppers Are British
You will hear a lot of Manc accents when you see funny interactions with the police , we call it parring (taking the piss is a mancunian pass time) . We have Charlie Veitch and his spartan kick haha. He kicks idiots who dare to start on him (youtuber) who reports on the city life . (he is scottish who lives in manchester. ) Funny AF
that kiss cam one was the parents of the comedian jack whitehall, check out some of his stuff its good
police throughout the UK have those yellow jackets
1:15 He’s in the middle of Edinburgh
Omg the british are so nice and polite!!
Average british man: 11:15
The Yorkshire accent is totally different from Manchester accent. Its a noticeable difference.
It is to us (I'm from Fax) I can see to an untrained ear they can sound similar tho, it's not like Lancashire to Brummie for example.
I go on a caravan holiday every year. Caravan are alot better than they were in the 70s. One we stayed in when I was a kid. Only had one bedroom no toliet or shower. There was us 6kids and mam n stepdad. The shower block was creepy
Joel, when you have 22,000 miles of coastline, you have loads of caravan parks that would be largely empty outside the peak holiday season, unless you do really good, cut-price deals - which attract less sophisticated families like glue... Likewise, holiday camps with chalets! If it's not families, its old folks who like nothing better than daytime cash bingo and a spot of dodgy evening entertainment! Mind you, they're okay for groups of friends whose main aim is to get pissed every night and have a laugh, too - I speak from personal experience and would send you the photographs, alas, UA-cam would never cope with that... I mean, drunk people going around semi-naked with things written on their backs by their friends in chocolate body paint, while they were asleep - or middle-aged women with no teeth, responding to toilet brushes that just happened to find their way inside their particular sleeping bags as they were about to go to bed.. These people need to get real - everybody in the UK swears, I'm sure of it!!
Not Yorkshire love, that's Manchester through and through.
Their name is just Gulls, but sea gulls at the seaside. I doubt there's a McDonald's anywhere in the British Isles that you won't find the car park swarming with them, scavenging for discarded scraps. That man is an idiot, expecting the gull to be friendly!
Sorry Joel, It's not Yorkshire, it's Lancashire.. maybe Manchester or possibly Wiggan
Take a look at ‘ allo ‘allo another comedy 😂. Interesting the lead part the man who plays him the husband who runs the pub was in a horrific car accident and wood went through his head and he survived
Definitely a Manchester accent.
That lad out the window is from Manchester. Her in the caravan you get people like that they normally drink all day then kick off. I suppose it is entertainment for the other around.. lol 😂
It sounds more Manchester to me too. It is similar to Yorkshire but Manchester often has a hint of Liverpool in it. I speak as someone born in Manchester but living in Yorkshire for the last 30 years. :) it's tricky. Places as close as Sheffield and Barnsly, both in South Yorkshire have very different accents.
It’s his favourite and much overused word - quintessential!
Definitely a Manchester accent rather than Yorkshire, you'd notice the difference if you heard the two together. ✌️
I would guess that accent is Huddersfield/Saddleworth, maybe Delph or Uppermill area
Seagul guy was Irish but in Edinburgh.
8:29 Talk about taking the law into your own hands
kiss
cam must be set up that comedian jack Whitehall parents
It is a CAP B in British and in Britain.
It takes six police officer to talk to him. How about that. 😜
8:18 I’m not surprised by this honestly.
Muy bueno
It’s not a Yorkshire accent it’s more a Lancashire Manchester accent
Its more a Manchester accent(Lancashire is the county) I'm from nr Leeds, West Yorkshire; our accent is a bit deeper.
The police have the right to enter your property but that is not the same as a search.
If you like the caravans then watch the trailer park boys so funny!
Have you heard of/reacted to the British series called Bottom?
I can see you but I can't see what you are watching! Could you make it a bit bigger, please!
That guy at the window needs to grow up, a real smart arse
Seagull video in Edinburgh
I forgot how us brits got no filter to anything
You should watch some of the Top Gear clips about caravans! The show's hosts hate caravans with a vengeance and destroy them creatively every chance they get.
That sounds like a Lancashire accent.
2:07 Lol try doing this in the US
why he look like younger version of GutzyAiden ??
The seagull guy sounded Northern Irish to me...
I was thinking the same thing.
Blackburn and Accrington are like 5 miles apart maybe less and they have 2 different accents
Thats not a yorkshire accent 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hello Joel. I am from Yorkshire and went to university over the Pennines. The accent does change once you get over those hills, sounding more like the one you mentioned. Locals thought I was just some Yorkshire lad, similar to what you did here, not a student, as I did not have a posh accent.
Other students wondered how I was not scared to just walk anywhere, but I grew up in an area that had a reputation, so it used to make me laugh to myself.
Caravan holidays used to be so fun when I was a kid but now, I haatteee being in that close quarters to my fam- the most recent holiday I was sharing a bedroom with my niece and she threw up all over her bed early hours of the morning cos of all the junk she had eaten the day before 🥴🤢 Btw I have a really bad phobia of sick so this was hell for me and also the beds are soooo close together so it was right next to me
0:51 Manchester United has the best merch, I guess idk
