Fuzz, so happy to learn that you’re a PT/SW fan! One of my favorites, as well. Seen them live several times over the years.

Very cool! I always love connecting with other PT/SW fans! I can't wait for the next SW tour. I've seen him live a couple times (Hand Cannot Erase and Grace for Drowning tours), PT about 7 times, and then also saw Blackfield once (I assume you're familiar with Blackfield? If not, definitely check them out... the first 3 albums at least. Great stuff!). Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@bulkhead72 You know that's funny, because I rank those two albums quite high myself... if not the top 2 for me. They're both excellent. I'm also a big fan of Stupid Dream... that was the album that really caught my attention when it first came out, and I've been all in on PT/SW ever since. Check this out... At one show during the In Absentia tour, I was actually leaning up against the stage, just a few feet away from SW the whole night (it was in a small venue). It was awesome... Fantastic show. Blackfield was awesome too... surprisingly loud! They rocked far harder than I ever expected, considering what we heard on the albums. They definitely had a lot more of an edge live. But i totally agree... very special band for me as well. It's great to converse with others who share that love of the band!

I miss one of the best concerts ever, Nightwish: Live at Wacken 2013. A truly fantastic concert with the valkery Floor Jansen. They make Symphonic Metal music. One of the most reaction videos on UA-cam is of the song Ghost Love Score from this great concert!

Great video Fuzz! Thanks for the shout out. Proud to be an official Fuzz member. It's nice to see you do a video on what your truly passionate about. I am not a big concert guy, but love Pink Floyd's the Wall. I also have Michael Jackson's This is It blu ray. I won't be surprised to see you do a follow-up video to this. I feel you have more to share with us. I did check out Porcupine Tree after a post you made a short while ago. I introduced them to my son who is a big classic rock fan and plays guitar himself.

Thanks so much Dwayne! Yeah I definitely had a lot of fun with this video, and you're right... I do feel like I could do a sequel at some point LOL! There are a lot of other great titles I have that I could've touched on, but I didn't want to get too out of control for this first music outing lol. Wasn't sure how people would feel about this video relative to my usual content. But it sounds like my enthusiasm and passion for the topic really did come through, and at least some here are digging the music angle. So I'll probably put out other music-themed physical media videos from time to time.
BTW, I've seen that MJ This is It and it's a good one. And of course, I'm also a Floyd fan (I've got all their albums, which you may have noticed in that big "Discovery" box set I have sitting behind me in most of my videos lol). A few others here have recommended that Roger Water's The Wall concert, which I still don't have... so I might have to pick that one up at some point.

And that's awesome to hear you're into Genesis! I dig both Genesis and Phil solo as well. I have the entire Genesis studio album catalog in 3 box sets that include both CDs and surround sound mixes of every album on DVD. Maybe I'll do a member's-only video at some point displaying some of my collection sets like that. Thanks for watching brother!

Been a huge music lover and my taste has only expanded since i have aged. I have music going all the way back to the twenties. I do love classical as well though i don't really have anything memorized. Although i don't own any concert/music blu rays, i do love going to concerts. Billy Idol, Jimmy Eat World, and Collective Soul were my favorites i have seen. Sadly, as someone who loves oldies, i grew up too late to see a lot of my favorites live. My all time favorite artist is Otis Redding and we lost him so young. Thanks for another great share, Fuzz!

That's awesome to hear! (that you're a big music fan) - And it sounds like you have very diverse tastes, which is great. And I love going to concerts... it's become a family thing too, attending concerts with my wife and son. It's our favorite thing to do together as a family. Anyway, It's funny you should mention Billy Idol, as I've been on a Billy Idol kick myself lately... discovering some of his later/newer albums for the first time. He's got some great stuff! I've also got my eye on that new concert film he's done that I assume will probably be coming out on Blu-ray at some point. And of course, I'm always someone who thrives on 80s nostalgia in general... that's just kind of my golden era, in terms of sentimentalism. But like you, my musical tastes have also evolved and expanded with age to include many different types of artists. Thanks so much for watching and chiming in! It's great to hear from you. 🙂🤘

I also own that Anesthetize blu-ray, and I can tell you, you're in for a treat with Closure/Continuation Live... it's a much better blu ray presentation, just in terms of quality (Anesthetize was one of the early blu-rays from back when format was still pretty new... the format has come a long way since then). I have the Cure and the Rush Documentary blu rays that were in your top 10 and they would both make my top 10 also. I also just ordered that Prince set. It sounds amazing. I'll probably also order that Yes and a couple of the Rush shows that I don't have. My favorite concert film of all time has to be Stop Making Sense. I can't wait till the 4K comes out in May. A couple of my very favorites never made it to blu ray. The self-titled Led Zeppelin 2 dvd set and Rage Against the Machine: Live at the Grand Olympic Auditorium both blow my mind to this day. I could also go on all day talking about my favorites there are so many out there, but also so many missed opportunities that have never made it to disc. Great video, Mr. Fuzz- I clearly really enjoyed it.

Yes! I can't wait for that new 4K of Stop Making Sense... I still need to pre-order it, but it's definitely on my list to pick up. In fact, the only reason I didn't include it on this list, is because I've never owned it on any format. But I am very much anticipating the new 4K release. It's gonna be awesome! And yes, the Prince set is very nice... it feels pretty prestigious in-hand... and it's heavy! Lol. I couldn't believe how low the price is on it right now on Amazon. It was like $100 when it first came out, and I think I paid around $75 for it. So it's definitely a steal right now on Amazon.
And I agree... there are a lot of great concert films/docs that I have on DVD that never made it to blu-ray. In fact, those are the only DVDs I have still held onto... just for posterity (like the old Genesis DVDs that were shot on video... Live at Wembley, Way We Walk tour, etc.). There's even an old feature-length Yes documentary I have on DVD that i would love to have on blu-ray... but who knows if that will ever happen. Thanks for watching and chiming in here, my friend. I knew I was gonna be a little outside my usual groove here with this video, but I figured I'm just too big of a music fan to not do this video LOL!

It's a double concert where the first half is the Ziltoid show which is about an Alien who comes to earth to steal coffee lol! The second half is their request set where they did an online poll and selected the most voted songs. His band is in the realm of progressive metal. They have many videos on UA-cam from this show, including the entire blu ray. It's a great and fun show that I have showed to a lot of friends and they've all had a fun time watching it.

Great video. Here are some of my thoughts and recommendations.
One title that's really worth checking out is Queen Rock Montreal and Live Aid. In addition to the remastered video, the audio was also remastered and is truly impressive.
Another one I enjoyed was Roxy: The Movie, featuring Frank Zappa and the Mothers. It's a tremendous performance and it's amazing what the producers of the Blu-ray were able to create given the technical challenges with the original source material.
The AC/DC concerts on Blu-ray are worth a look. My favorite is the film, Let There Be Rock, although Live at Donington probably has the best production values.
Fans of the Yes concerts might want to try to find a copy of Symphonic Live. It's another one with top-notch production values.
I would also recommend The Who at Kilburn: 1977.
On a final note, I do own the Blu-ray of Genesis: Three Sides Live, mostly for sentimental reasons. It's not a great film but I saw that concert tour when it came to Toronto back in 1981.

    • @TheOriginalFuzz
      @TheOriginalFuzz  8 місяців тому +1

Oh yeah that Symphonic Yes blu ray is awsome! I own it too and I almost mentioned it in the video. It's actually one of my favorites from them for the classic Yes material. The keyboardist -- while not Wakeman -- is ridiculously good. And I feel like that one was worth owning just for Gates of Delirium, Close to the Edge and Ritual alone. Fantastic concert! Also, I do wish we could have some better Genesis concerts on blu-ray other than Genesis 3 Sides Live... That's an ok show, but I don't like the interview clips interspersed with the footage... I would've rather seen the full concert, uninterrupted. And I do think Live at Wembley and Way We Walk DVDs are far better shows. Very cool that you got to see that tour 3 Sides Live though. That's one of the only major artists I'm into that I never got the chance to see live. I'm also a big fan of The Who... just took my son to see them live on the last tour. I've always loved them. I'll check out that Kilburn disc... I don't have it yet (I have several others from the Who, but not that one yet). Thanks for watching and commenting, and also for the recommendations!

I have mentioned in a couple of my videos saying that studios are missing out by not releasing more music on bluray or 4K. I think I only have 1 concert on BD: AC/DC Live at Donington. Also have an Alice Cooper concert on HD-DVD. But have many on DVD that has never been put on BD. Such a shame not to take advantage of better formats. Some that comes to mind are: Tina Turner Live at Amsterdam, Fleetwood Mac The Dance, Rammstein Live in Berlin, Scorpions Moment of Glory, Metallica S&M, and a few Kiss concerts. And then, of course, there are bands that have never produced an official concert on physical media making you find bootlegs. One I REALLY want on bluray would be Trans-Siberian Orchestra. I have seen them multiple times and would love to experience it home o disc instead of UA-cam. I am big music lover as well. I even have some SACDs and DVD Audio discs in my collection. Also have a few of the 24 carat gold remasters that were produced many years ago. Even though the ones you mentioned aren't my cup of tea, it was a great video. I totally agree! I would love to see more music-related stuff released on blu-ray (or even better, on 4K in some cases). Fleetwood Mac's The Dance is one I've been hoping for on blu ray for years now. It's the definitive Mac concert in many ways (I remember watching it on VH1 or MTV or something when it first aired in the 90s, and then I saw them live on that subsequent tour as well). I still have the old DVD, and it's been driving me nuts that they never released it on blu ray. As for Trans-Siberian, I'm surprised they've never put out anything on blu-ray! That would TOTALLY make a ton of cash, I think. People love Trans-Siberian Orch! Great stuff man... thanks for watching and chiming in with your thoughts!

I don't have much music on Blu-ray. I only have the Eagles from your list. My tastes are similar with some differences to yours. Here is the rest of my collection. First one is questionable to your list standards. It is Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon 50th Anniversary. It is the album on Blu-ray in Dolby Atmos, but no visuals. Next is AC/DC Live at River Plate. Great concert and the incredible crowd energy that is infectious to the viewer. Next would be Rammstein Paris and their other one Amerika. Hans Zimmer Live in Prague is just wow and it is in Atmos. Roger Waters The Wall. Another great Atmos mix. INXS Live Baby Live in 4K and Atmos. Finally Dream Theater Live at Luna Park. Going way back I have on VHS I wish was on Blu-ray is Queensryche Operation Mindcrime. I have several on DVD. Good unique topic I haven't seen from other Blutubers.

I just got a couple music BDs today. Hans Zimmer Live in Prague and Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon with the latter being a Blu-Ray Audio disc with Dolby Atmos. I don't have Atmos setup but will be interested in the Uncompressed 5.1 mix. I have that on SACD and loved it. I plan on checking these out today and tomorrow and then put up reviews for them to let people know about them. I love Hans Zimmer's scores and can't wait to watch it.

Very cool! I've heard that Zimmer release is a good one, and that the Atmos mix is killer -- and even without Atmos height channel, I'm sure you can still appreciate the mix to some degree, since I've heard that object-based surround mixes like Atmos adapt to whatever speaker configuration you're using (in my case, I have a 5.1 setup with no Atmos. But I still can hear a difference in the mixes compared to 5.1 mixes). Also very cool about Floyd, as I've always been a Floyd fan as well (I have the "Discovery" box set they put out I think like 10-15 years ago with all their albums included).

@@TheOriginalFuzzI listened to the Pink Floyd disc today. PHENOMENAL! I just recorded a review. Hopefully get it edited and posted tomorrow. Hans Zimmer would be next...but got The Abyss 4K today...so that takes priority. LOL Maybe have time to do both tomorrow if I start early enough.

@@screamingeekmedia That's awesome that you got The Abyss! I just watched my copy last night. So good! Very impressive restoration, in my view.

@@TheOriginalFuzzHave been seeing everyone else's reviews and they say it is best of all 3. I know I won't be as critical as others. Hell, I didn't think T2 was as bad as everyone else made it out to be. It was watchable. We are just too spoiled by all the other great 4Ks out there. LOL

@@TheOriginalFuzzJust watched the Hans Zimmer concert. WOW...WOW...WOW! Phenomenal! I am hoping to get a review of it up tomorrow. I do want to THANK YOU for re-igniting my passion for music. I am ready to dive down the rabbit hole searching for more for the home theater. Also thinking of doing my own video regarding favorite concerts. Mine will cover different formats since majority of mine are DVD. Only have a couple blu-rays.
