One of the best videos I've watched explaining twin genetics! Easy to follow and concise; I wish I stumbled upon this earlier!
This video explains alot thanks for doing so , just found out my wife is having twins yesterday so watching this helped us both a great deal.
Interesting :). My twin sister and I are monozygotic di-di with ABneg blood type. Because we were di-di we were told we're di-zygotic but at at 46 a DNA test proved mono-zygotic. That really screws with your mind...
I'm a clinical research coordinator - and I love research because I'm always learning about new topics - and twin pregnancies are completely new to me. This video made my work 100x clearer and now I can have discussions with mothers about their twin pregnancies and understand more of what is happening. Thank you for this very valuable information!
Glad I stumbled on this video
Anyone has other great channels?
This one is gold
Clear and concise explanation - thank you!
What a gd teacher. I understand everything u said. Thanks
Highly informative! Thanks!
Amazing work. Cheers
Had fraternal twins for friends. Interestingly enough they looked almost identical. But iirc each definitely had their own pouch in-utero.
Clearly explained and very good presentation, highly appreciated... thank you for the upload
Very informative. Thank you so much. I feel way more prepared for my next Obgyn visit. Very good information.
thank you! wonderful video, helped a lot
Thanks for this video I have been searching for this kind of video
Thank you a lot. A very good video
Gratitude Doc.well explained.🙏
Thanks alot that was really helpful .we have a momo-di twins and it was great to see this video .
very good video thank-you very much
nice video, it helped a lot.
I love studying the genetics/biology of twins! I just did a video on my channel that answers commonly asked questions like whether identical/fraternal twins run in families, can they skip a generation, etc.
Great video Sir!! I can't believe this has 49 views only :/ Thank you so much and all the best
Thank you 😊
Thank you, teach! Can I ask what were your references on genetic predisposition of certain people to produce twins?
Thanks

THANK YOU for explain who I am.
Thankyou
what is difference between twin study and co-twin method?
What determines when the body chooses to split for mono twins?
My grand mother had 3 pairs of fraternal twins and my father is one of them. Im just wondering if i have a chance of having them too.
Smart guy!
Can you explain about conjugated twins?
sir,If two eggs are released into the ovary...can it happen that 1egg split and other second one is as it is? can three babies b born?
I had di di male twins Jan 2018. They have the same blood type
Will both twins get an autosomal recessive disorder if they are identical?
Dear Dr Boone, May I add a comment regarding the increased risk of twinning following fertility treatment: the rate of monozygotic twinning does increase by a factor of 1.5 to 2 fold following IVF/ICSI fertilisation, possibly due to zona instability resulting from embryo handling. Thanks for the video

Monochorionic diamniotic and same placenta kia identical ho ga ya fartarnol? Same shakal k ho gay??
My cousin had twins, they were di-di and they came out to be indentical. So that’s just not the case.
Because mono twins can either have (1)- 2 separate amniotic sacs and there own placenta (2) Share the same amniotic sac but have there own placenta or (3) share the same sac and placenta. If the case is where your twins have there own sac and placenta they will consider your twins as ‘di-di twins when In fact di-di twins can be either fraternal or indentical. A lot of people say that di-di twins are fraternal when that’s just not the case.
Thanks a lot.mine s sec category...twins...
Hi doc, i'm a mother of acardiac twin "mono-di" 1 placenta 2 amniotic sac.
Is it purpose to have difference sacs and one plecental and have difference sex
Did you say that identical twins can be any of the three? Mono/DI, mono/mono, OR DI/DI?
I thought my doctor said identical could only be mono/di or mono/mono
Yeah they can be any, I think a lot of doctors are misinformed on this, and they tell people they are definitly having fraternal when they're not necessarily...
If you really know your research - di-di Twins can be either fraternal or indentical
i am a frateral twin also
As a new father Im excited to learn having mono twins on the first go and holy fuck now I'm scared
Dcda twis sem gendar ya difrt? Pelenta alg alg piz ripil sar
👏👏👏
Very nice ......may I know is it possible dadc twins have fused placenta??? What are all the complications in that case???
👌
my question is... My mum is a fraternal twin but she didn't have any twins herself, who is more likely to have the gene, me or my brother?
You are because only you can ovulate. Fraternal twins are formed when 2 eggs and 2 sperm meet. If your brother has a daughter he could pass down the gene to her because she could ovulate.
MONO ZYGOTIC AND DIZYGOTIC , 1 AMNIOTIC SAC 2 AMNIOTIC SAC UMBILICAL CORD CLAMPED , PLAVENTA TAKEN OUT IDENTIACAL AND FRATERNAL TWINS .
Great Video👍🏽I’m Having Di/Di Twins Fraternal Twins👶🏽👶🏽

25 weeks pregnant with twins doctor just told me I'm having Mono-di twins so I asked if my girls will be identical but I was told No they Wont. wouldn't that mean they are di-di twins?
How are your twins now? (:
My wife pregnancy mcda tha gender same or one girl one boy please answer
what if the woman's paternal grandmother had two sets of twins? could the hyper ovulation be genetically handed down?
Yes
My paternal grandmother had 3 pairs of fratenal twins😥
I'm 19week pregnant with twins. My nt scan report reveals antero posterior placenta. What does it mean..... Whether both having one placenta or different placenta?? One more thing... are they identical or frternal twins?
Hey! if it is just one placenta , probably identical twins. I would ask the doctors tho.
No sir they r dcda twins. I confirmed through my tifa scan
@@nirupamadashpanda2852 Ok , have a blessed pregnancy
aren't identified twins a type of mutation?
Why there's never a monoamniotic dichorionic category?
I'm guessing if there's two placentas (especially if they are far apart in the uterus) then they are going to each have their own amniotic sac rather then somehow grow/share one.
Easy way on the right way
Indentical twins
1)When a single egg is fertilized by a sperm that splits quickly right after
* Your twins will have there own amniotic sac and own placenta
Fraternal twins
1) when 2 eggs gets fertilized by one Sperm
*Your twins will have there own amniotic sac and own placenta.
So again di-di twins can either be fraternal or indentical.
It bothers me so much because people are misinformed, There has been so many times people were misinformed and were told didi twins are fraternals when the whole time they were indeed indentical. He’s a doctor and he’s misinforming people . He, as a doctor always knows this. He can’t tell if a single egg was fertilized and split quickly or if 2 eggs were fertilized,so when he sees twins with there own sac and placenta he should explain that there’s a chance that there fraternal because 2 of your eggs could of been fertilized it they can be indentical because one of your eggs was fertilized but split quickly after fertilization, but he is not 100% certain because he wasn’t there. That’s why many doctors say they can be either fraternal or indentical,
He literally explains this at 10:35
You can have twins considered di-di twins and you would assume there fraternal but that is just not the case!
Yes di-di twins are considered usually fraternal but it’s not always the case.
Di-di explains the fact that they have there own amniotic sac and placenta that’s it, but if he explained further he would of explained the fact that di-di twins(meaning twins that have there own placenta and amniotic sac) can also be indentical by one egg being fertilized that split very quickly, which makes this the same picture but different artist. He’s basically explaining same picture but not the 2 very different artist!
Indentical twins happen in 3 ways
1) A single egg being fertilized that split very quickly *when this happens your twins will have there own placenta and own amniotic sac
2) a single egg being fertilized but split while reaching to the wall and
3) A single egg was fertilized but split once it hit the uterus wall.
Fraternels happen in one way
1) 2 eggs being fertilized by 2 sperms *when this happens it your twins will have there own placenta and own amniotic sac.
** so how the fuck can you say di-di twins are Only fraternal! Just take the easy way and misinform people.
hereditary predisposing for mono zygotic twins are actually more rampant in asia.
Why does the egg split??
Cells split to form a fetus, but when it splits all the way where it separates and creates identical twins
@@bubblygranolachick do it happens by accident then?

Do you know what would be the cause of two monozggotic twins with one growing up to be gay and the other is not gay? would it matter if they shared the sac? it makes no sense and it's racking my brain
there is still a debate to determine if people are homosexual because of genetical factors or environmental- cultural influences, however I find it difficult to think about a research that can give a satisfying answer if the sharing of the sac will influence their gender. However I will post some scientific papers that maybe could be of your interest.
