I have a question, what would you say your best way of getting a decent sized customer base in the first place is? Was it a advertising? Marketing? social media posting? Any certain sm platform in particular? etc etc. I'm still having trouble cracking the market after 3 + years in the business and despite making excellent soaps of all wonderful kinds. 😔
For me I've found the best way to break into the local market was doing as many markets and special events as I could. I've built a few loyal customers that way and make most of my sales at in person events.
The next was keeping up a strong social media presence across as many platforms as possible. I've gotten a few returning customers that way.
The last thing I did was make sure everyone knew I'm open to wholesale, starting on faire (zero sales there btw) and emailing as many local shops as I could find that I thought would be a good fit with my brand. Also bring active in business and local Facebook groups so I see when people are looking for product for their stores or events that are happening I might want to get in on.
I will say I'm still very small time, but I'm growing in the right direction! Also, paying for advertising did nothing for me, I'm pretty sure I've had zero customers from that. I do however have a website and try and drive all my traffic to it.
