The house is looking amazing Julie. I’ve loved seeing your journey with this project over the past few years and will certainly be purchasing some of those floorboards from your shop soon. I have been pondering over options for flooring for quite a while now and here you are with the solution. Thank you 😊
Thanks Paul. I'm glad you've found a flooring solution. The flooring sheets have been out of stock with my supplier for a while (I'll keep trying to order!), but you can also use sheet wood, cut into strips. :)
Hi Julie, literally have just found you on You Tube & absolutely loving your Dollhouse Diary, slowly working through them & will soon be up to date I’m sure. Have binged on episodes 1 to 10 just this afternoon. I’m especially interested because I have my Moms 88year old dolls house that I will be attempting to renovate, unfortunately I think it is 1/16th scale so may have my work cut out. Thank you for all your tutorials & taking us, step by step, through your renovation & I fully understand why you started the renovation. Real houses do not stay the same, when a new owner moves in they immediately want to decorate, alter & make the house their own home.....so why not our dolls houses. Sometimes an old dolls house has to change or it will not have any value to future family generations.
I'm curious about the choice of pva glue on the paper, which is making it swell, versus using a glue stick. I've had far better luck gluing paper when I use glue sticks as they aren't so wet.
So nice to see another episode, and to hear/see your inspiration and plans. I look forward to seeing how you turn out the other rooms. And of course, I anticipate seeing the furnishings and all the bits and bobs that create realism and personality!
Happy New Year Julie..... As usual....love love love your videos. I have just watched and got my "mini fix" ...inspired to record one now...thanks for the time you put into this.
Lovely to see a new video! I was wondering if you had tried using caulking in a syringe for filling gaps rather than filler. We use it in our own homes, it’s easy to apply and requires no sanding. I look forward to the next episode!
Hi Denise, I usually stock it in my Etsy shop, but my suppliers are out of stock at the moment (24/Jan/2022), but do keep an eye out as I will be restocking! :)
Hi what u use to put your doors back on your doors open same way like mys I move and the moving people mess up my house trying to get back together missing doors screws
Fab episode Julie! Re balsa wood, would you think it can be used to construct fireplaces and hearths? I have a few to construct for my cottage, and was initially thinking of using basswood.
Hi Dianna, I'm so sorry about that, I forgot to alter the settings. I have done it now, so you should find they're working. I hope you'll enjoy the video.

That looks amazing--I'm always so impressed with your meticulous workmanship and attention to detail. The wallpaper pattern looks perfect, too.

Great job x
Thanks Elaine. :)
You chose a beautiful wall paper for this room. I'm looking forward to your other videos!!
Thanks Sarah.

I've tried glue sticks, but they tend to catch and crumple the paper.
So wonderful, Julie, I can't wait to see the decoration updates 👏🏻🥂
Thanks Simon. :)
You are very talented!
Thank you so much!

Thanks for the tip!
May I ask what the house dimensions are? HxWxD. I love that it has so many rooms! Thnx
There is a separate video giving all of the measurements, if you have a look through my playlists! :)
Where do you find your reference photos? I love your work and you have helped me so much. Thank you.
I use Google images, just type in a basic search term and you'll find thousands of images. :)
Where can you purchase the strip wood flooring?

Hi what u use to put your doors back on your doors open same way like mys I move and the moving people mess up my house trying to get back together missing doors screws
I used pin hinges. Take a look at my video about making and fitting doors, I think it will help. xx

Balsa wood should be ok for fireplaces and hearths, perhaps give a small one a try and see what you think. I find it's a bit flimsy for building with.
No subtitles, 😔
