Hi Julian. I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit to the UK and hope you had a safe journey home. I was so gutted to have missed GETS and the opportunity to meet some of my favourite UA-cam channel owners. Just a word to the wise: Hythe rhymes with hive.
Great video julian and it so nice to have met you in person at the great electric train show l also follow wobbly runner and his long lost railways and the amazing railway infrastructure that we have lost over the years he used to live not far from me and often did videos along the old GCR coming through Beighton where I live there is lots of evidence of old girder bridges and tunnels some of which are now on the trans pennine way foot path there used to be a station in Beighton but only part of the station platform exists which is lineside of which is now the Midland mainline from St pancras to Sheffield and then on to leeds there used to be the original signal box next to the level crossing which was called Beighton Junction but it was taken down a couple of years ago and l think wobbly runner did a video about that such a shame to not see a land mark that l saw every day no longer there my layout Beighton Parkway is my tribute to days gone by in Beighton the station building on my layout is Butterly station a skaledale model replica of the station at the midland railway heritage centre at Ripley it was taken down from cresswell l think and rebuilt at Ripley Hope you had a good flight home nice to see you and Paul Best wishes Kev Beighton Parkway Sheffield
I hope you enjoyed your time in England I am sorry I was unable to meet you but things happened and I could not find time to catch you. Have a safe journey home and am looking forward to seeing the updates on 'New Sandling' with Paul and of course your own channel.
Hi Julian, great dip into a lost line, thank you. I hope your trip was enjoyable and you saved some space in your luggage to take some railway goodies home. Look forward to being back at yours for the next video. Cheers, Dave.
Hi Julian! It was very nice to meet you and Paul at GETS on the Sunday! These lost lines can be very interesting to trace and visit, although more and more of them are being redeveloped and will be lost forever! Hope you have a safe journey home, and look forward to the next Station Road update! All the best, Ian.
Lovely and interesting video Julian. I'm pleased to see that you got to visit what is left of the old Hythe branch line whilst you was staying with Paul. Hopefully you will be able to come to the UK again at some point in the future and I will getcti meet you then. Have a safe and pleasant journey back home. Bedt wishes. Mark.
Thanks for sharing your footage of the disused line Julian, sorry I did not go to GETS to meet you and other UA-camrs but will make the effort next year to attend. Have a safe trip home good to hear you enjoyed your time here please stay safe regards Barry..
Hi Julian, it was great to meet you and Paul at GETS, I'm glad you've enjoyed your visit to the UK and mine and Paul's part of the country. Looking forward to seeing your progress on the baseboards and also your own layout once you're back in New Zealand. Allan
Hi Julian, A bit of history and even better about the railway so I hope you enjoyed your walk in the uk and if you do come back to us (this GETS was not as it usually is so a return visit as long as not Making Tracks 4 there) I hope you would enjoy and while here you have been in Hythe Kent but a trip to Hythe in Hampshire there is a 100 year old pier railway running as it was (a YT video by Dan Snow from 8years ago will show you) and a ferry goes over to Southhampton were a fast ferry can have you at the Isle of Wright (Cowes) in 30mins a super day out. I hope your trip home was OK and its always nice to get home after all keep safe and well and keep building. Cheers Robert.
Thanks for sharing your UK journey with us Julian and safe trip home to NZ. Do you have something like GETS and is Paul coming to help you with Station Road? 😉
The Southern Railway were experts at recycling -- you will often find things built of old rail. Those fence posts were almost certainly installed while the branch was operating.
Sorry Julian but you had me roaring with laughter when that footplate dropped off and your reaction to it. Your whole attitude was laid back. I would have got quite angry. Clearly a model to be just looked at on a shelf.
Enjoy your videos....have a safe journey home 🙂
good see you had goot trip to the uk thanks lee
😊 fantastic Julian.
Glad you've had a great time. That is my idea of a holiday, topped off with a disused railway.
Have a safe journey back.
