#nandibushell #taylorhawkins #foofighters
Thank you so much Andrew. It was a very emotional day for everyone. I just wanted to give my performance everything I had and make Taylor proud of me. It was an incredible experience playing live to 90,000 people and an honour to have been asked to play for Taylor. Nandi x
Amazing Nandi. I would have freaked out up there! Truly incredible performance. Speechless…
🙌
Nandi, that was a superb performance and a wonderful tribute to Taylor Hawkins! More please!!!
Wait a minute! What about me and the millions of live viewers all around the world!!! 😁
Great job Nandi!! You're an inspiration to me!! Keep rockin.🤘🤘🔥🔥🥁🥁
It was a beautiful performance. Thank you for everything you give on stage. I am your biggest fan.
What many people don't understand, because she makes it looks so easy, is she's in control of that band for the duration of that song. They are following her - she's not fitting into their playing. The fact you can't hear any difference in this performance between her and any other professional drummer playing this song in front of 80K people tells you all you need to know - she's the real deal. And only 12 years old. Wow. Great reaction.
Agree Mike! Really in the pocket here
I think it's because she plays like that's all she needs. Like No food, no water, no housing, just drums. She's Animal's daughter and the Muppets need to make her one.
There’s an upload shot from the crowd as well, and she was singing along the whole time. When she , as you said, flared it up a bit, Pat and the bass player both turned and smiled at her like they couldn’t have been more proud 🥰
Oh I need to see that!!!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Me too! Link, Deidre?? ... never mind ... found one! ua-cam.com/video/b2ZQDONWMuc/v-deo.html
NB: Fun Fact... Nandi was playing with the signature Taylor sticks he gave her personally after 'Everlong', at the FF LA gig ... R (Australia)

Shes so precious I just wanna hug her and feed her soul food
I’m turning into my grandma 😂
HEHE!
Yes this is glorious
Hi Andrew, I think the thing that most impresses me about Nandi is that, on stage she's fearless and a real powerhouse drummer, all business and no showboating but, offstage (and off video) she's a normal, sweet 12-year-old girl. There's no pretence, no displays of an inflated ego - Nandi's message of thanks to you demonstrates that perfectly - this girl is grounded and has a close, tight family around her. You really get the feeling that, for Nandi, the only route is up, at whatever she chooses to do and that her family will be there to support her no matter what. I'd hope it's with drumming, I'm pretty certain it will involve music but whatever it is, you just know that Nandi will be supported and nurtured and that she'll be successful.
Nandi today announced on her IG page she has an EP coming out soon
AWESOME RICHARD!!!
Her first single is out on Friday 9/30/22
She's amazing! So much confidence, especially for her age. She deserved that performance.
100% Don
WOW!!!! This was absolutely phenomenal performance by Nandi, i think she definitely made Taylor proud.... RIP Taylor Hawkins....
This young lady is keeping the UK scene very much alive and kicking, she has the world at her feet, go Nandi !!!!!!
I get nervous playing for my drum teacher. Can’t imagine. She’s amazing.
EXACTLY! It's bonkers
It's hard to believe but from my last live on stage experience in 2004 the only thing I remember was my drum kit with cymbals, my buddies playing their instruments ahead and then just a crowd. Drummers are always kind of hidden/covered 🙂 No reason to fear.
This was definitely a moment that I was looking forward to and she did not disappoint. If you look closely when she gets on the drum riser by climbing up the side. Rami (keyboards) is raising his arms. lol. When she leaves she uses the steps at the rear of the riser. I cracked up when I saw that, but when you are a nimble 12 year old rock star you can hop the riser any way that you want!
Yes I noticed that Ted!! Love it
Nandi is my favorite artist to watch, she gives us her energy and just makes me happy. Her abilities take huge jumps every year it's amazing to watch.
Yes Curtis!
Stunning.
Bravo Nandi!
Stamina and energy, too. She definitely has the energy.
Yup. Smashed it!
As said - she is so good and so professional. You can tell the band likes her there and respects her. She had to be at that show. Taylor would have wanted it
Legit sounds awesome here Steve!
She is gonna be huge! Love this, really nails it!
Yup already huge Craig! Up there with the best!!
I haven’t always been a big fan of how she performs on many of her UA-cam videos with all the stick twirling etc. But mad respect for her totally professional and awesome performance here. Now hoping Dave invites Yoyoka (who is in the US now) on stage for a similar performance during their US tribute concert in a couple of days. 😎👍
Just straight smashes it out the park here!
I agree with you. I'm not a big fan of her style. It's too mechanical for me. I largely prefer Yoyoka's style.
@@adladl4276 She's 12, give her a break. 😂
@@RaXXha I know. I'm just saying that Yoyoka who is as young is a lot more complete and interesting to listen to.
Yaaaas yoyoka is amazing!
Andrew, I have been a Nandi fan for about 3 years. My Daughters introduced me to her channel. I love your reacts, specially for her videos. You are honest and really point out the small details of her skill, most other react creators aren't "musically" skilled enough to see. (not all of them, and certainly not bad mouthing any of them. They all have there own expertise)
I hope you check out her new single, I love it. In my opinion it's only the beginning. Once her voice matures, look out!
So proud to see her grow in age and talent with every video, the future is bright for Nandi, I hope she can cope with that and stay level headed
I foresee Nandy becoming a standard feature of Foo Fighters concert. If she's not there the audience might be disappointed.
Yeah Why not!? I would think that's logical
Great reaction! Shane Hawkins (Taylor's 16 year old son) just played drums at his dad's tribute concert in LA, My Hero and I'll Stick Around. He actually upped his game and killed it. You'll definitely have to react to that one, too! (Did you react to his first performance at Wembley on My Hero, at the first Taylor Hawkins Tribute show? You have to see that one first, lol)
Yes I caught the first one. It got blocked on YT. Available to the patrons :)
I have love watching the reviews ever since I started watching our girl watching the reviews of professional drummers and drum teachers who are astounded and just giddy watching her being so epic and so advanced is just as much fun as watching her perform it’s the best this is the best
She's having fun in her UA-cam videos and that's why I like to watch them. I put her covers on loop on my TV and let it play for hours.
Love it 👌
once upon a time I thought i'd be a drumist ,grew out of it tho' still , love drummers and drums . Seeing , hearing women like Senri , Nandi , Yoyoka , (and many others who are
still "children", ) just make me cry with admiration at what they are achieving
good on you Andrew for giving them a look in , it's great to see some one else
being amazed at these prodigies .
We are talking about Nandi here only Paul
Nandi is an awesome drummer too ❤️👏👏👏
YES!
Nandi is so amazing
Agree Pierre
At 12 you're just fearless!
Some people are!
I thought Rufus Taylor on drums with the Foos. Almost eerie. And, of course, Dave Grohl on drums with Them Crooked Vultures.
I didn't see any of Rufus. Need to watch the whole thing
At 12 I was riding my bike around town with my friends. Pretty impressive, huh? 😁
Yup and skateboarding!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Now you're just showing off. haha
when your Dad is your biggest supporter
This is an amazing performance!!#Girlpower!!
Yes it is Lindsay!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Thanks my favorite!!
Check out the latest from Nandi....
This week Nandi released a professionally recorded single and video, She wrote the song and played all the instruments herself. ua-cam.com/video/p4XyA7pAauA/v-deo.html and on top of that she tackles the subject of mental health in the song... Its about her dads struggles with depression. her dad is her rock so that must have been very unsettling for Nandi too.
She just released her own E P....
Been following you for a long time nandi Bushell love your spirit and drumming
So awesome! She’s amazing!
Great reaction and your take wasn’t negative at all. This was honest and educational. Thank you for your post🙏🏼
I have watched a number of videos where Dave and FF have guest players and Dave continues to keep looking back at their guest while they are playing. However, while watching this, Dave hardly looked back at all. It was as if he had the same confidence that he would if Taylor was playing. She is amazing to watch and listen to.
@Andrew Rooney Drums ... would you consider her beyond a prodigy at this point?

🥁☕🙌
She also played with them for Everlong when she was nine, I think, and absolutely killed it. I could close my eyes and not hear any difference from the regular drummer. You should check that out.
If you want to feel some way, watch her cover of Tool's 46 & 2.
Sounds good!
Taylor never played this song this way, it's Nandi's version, and Nate was smilling all the time. Pat turned toward Nandi at least three times with a big smile, and you can see him almost missing to change the tuning on his guitar at 6:15 because he was just looking at Nandi.
If you want to listen to the real front sound that we had on the live streaming:

If you want to see all the band reactions:

By the way, Nandi was also playing with the sticks Taylor gave her after the soundcheck last year.
Hey! I read this sweetest article which said the band looked happiest and at most ease during this song which I don't know if it's true or not I didn't watch and analyze each performance but they do all really enjoy playing with her it seems. I think partially because she's so smiling and positive. Seems like they really like her energy. It seems like Pat wants to take her home. Lol thanks for those links there's not a lot of video maybe after la they'll unblock some stuff I just love her. And of course great review all right thanks for those links thanks for the review Mr Rooney!!! 🤘🏼
@@amandatheyahoo411 it's a french name? Maybe I should ask you my question in french: "Pourriez-vous mettre le lien de l'article en question, j'aimerais bien le lire également?"
@@stefanpleshoyano5537 French Canadian!! I live in Illinois though! Know zero french 🤣. I hope that link works fellow Nandi fan! 🤘🏼
I don't know how to do links. It's in Pitchfork
@@amandatheyahoo411 well names could be misleading sometimes. I'm french canadian, and french but my name is from romania, and I don't know how to speak romanian at all!
Thank you anyway, I will search for this article!
Nandi started playing when she was about 5 years old
I love Nandi! She is the future of female led rock. Have you seen Paulina Villareal of The Warning at age 10 play Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck". It is insane.
At age 12 I was playing Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and constantly asking my Dad to buy me new skateboard wheels....
I never did get those damn wheels....
Watch El estepario siberiano ANIMALS AS LEADERS MEDLEY, its a mind burner
Oh no... he didn't did he?
She's hitting the drums so hard she's flying out of the seat. LOL
The Shane Hawkins video is back I see it in my choices.
Imagine Yoyoka behind the drums !😍
That would have been great for this concert!!!
Thanks Andy! Can you help !e understand what Mother Mother is doing on Hayloft? Lol
Hey Albert!
I've had a student request that one!
Give me a mo :)
@@AndrewRooneyDrums Awesome! They're such a class act.
I'm not a drummer, but the recording drummer cuts deep with what feels like rigid rudiments.
On HAYLOFT, my take is he's alternating accents to different points of the composition, and fast. As a listener, it ends up making the simple rythms and fills feel euphoric for me.
But I'm not a drummer- so I'm interested...why does it hit so hard lol
Hello Andrew! Just happen to come across your page. Where do you rank Karen Carpenter (The Carpenters) amongst the long list of famous drummers??
She's legit good!
Excellent soloist too
Did you say "hey hey what is up Andrew, it is UA-cam here!"... Do you always do that and I just noticed???!! Or did you say it backwards??!! Hahah
That's for me to know and you to find out! HAHA
@@AndrewRooneyDrums hahaha ok!! I just went through the last 25 videos and you only did it on the Jon Karel video. But I can probably assume you've done a few times and I just never noticed!!! Good stuff!!!
@@AndrewRooneyDrums p.s. so close to 100k subs!!! Congrats and keep going!!
@@peezdoc Good catch, Doc. Maybe there's a little something in his coffee from time to time???
It's obviously your kiwi accent but it sounds like you're saying "all the dickheads I've been playing " 🤣
BAHAHAHA
I wonder when another instrumental prodigy will appear on UA-cam and take over the crown...only a matter of time...
Yes plenty of future stars out there András
You need to hear the new songs she wrote
She feels it, and that is probably part of the draw, it's like seeing a baby look like an old man. She plays like a rock star because she grew up believing she was one. Like some of us didn't start our mimicking until we were teens but she's been doing it since infancy. Like Tiger Woods in golf.
Shane Hawkins couldn't lay off and sped up at times. Travis Barker was metronomic but also I felt lacked dynamics. Nandi Bushell played like she belonged and had absolutely nothing to prove.
The fact that Shane could function at all was a major miracle. You're nitpicking a grieving child. Go touch some grass.
@@katyas-mom Thank you for the important perspective. Yes, you're right, the emotional load of the two young people was not comparable. Shane Hawkins certainly did a solid job up there, and yes I guess it is nitpicking for the particular context. It was not my intention to knock Shane Hawkins down, rather it was my intention to say Nandi Bushell looks like the finished product, while SH still has some areas to address -- but again, I acknowledge that it was wrong of me to draw any meaningful conclusions on that score from such a limited and particular set of circumstances.
