    In hindsight, the era of the finest cars ever made . All the kit you really need without the silly tech you don’t.

      We did enjoy it, sir, but I would have preferred a leather interior with some nice rear electric windows, of course.

    I had a 1.6 SLX as a company car back in 1999 and I loved it. Brilliant to see this on the channel.

      Me too! Best gearbox on any manual I’ve ever driven. Would have loved the GT but I wasn’t management.😂

      It was certainly a most enjoyable car, although I would trade a bit of the power for some extra luxurious if it were me.

    Brilliant, Mr Lloyd, I genuinely can't remember the last time I saw one of these on the road. This generation looks far more handsome than the facelift model with the gingercatered.

      Sir, we personally prefer the facelifted P11s, but I seem to be in the minority in that regard....

      But do you prefer the 1999 post facelift Nissan Almera that the Mildred's had, I personally think it looked much current now than its facelift replacement did.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      The N15 and N16 are completely different cars, sir. The N16 was not a facelift of the N15.

    I had a black one, heavily influenced by my love of BTCC championship and the Team Dynamics Primera GT. Very reliable for me, i stuck on a 4inch straight thru stainless exhaust, she sounded great under bridges. Very tight suspension, she"d hold the road alright, easily noticable coming from an 8v Astra GTE that i had previous.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  2 місяці тому

      Very agreeable cars to drive, I just very much enjoy this. The SR20 engine does tend to be quite dependable. Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting!

    Peak era of Nissan for the Primera. I beleive the wood has been added at some point. I used to be friends with a girl whose Dad owned a P11 Primera Inspiration so very familiar with the P11 Primera.
    A excellent review as always Sir.

    Never managed to reach the heights of the primera, but I started with a 1999 micra, then a 94 Sunny 3 door and finally a bright Red 98 Almera 1.6 SRI which was lovely. Never had one problem with any of them, apart from when A london black cab rear ended my micra,

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      I have driven an N14 Sunny (also known as the Y10 Traveller) on the channel, and it was absolutely great. The same owner also had a K11 Micra 1.0 Special Edition, which I also very much enjoyed. Shame about your Micra!

    • @nathanstevful
      @nathanstevful 6 місяців тому

      @@lloydvehicleconsulting I wrote the taxi off, and £1000 damage to my yellow micra, had it repaired but it never quite felt the same. Im glad I got the sunny, bit more space, it was a 1.4 but still no more power compared to the micra1.3.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      Yes, the 1.3 in the K11 Micra was similar in power output to the 1.4 in the N14 Sunny.

      The P11s seem to be surprisingly good cars. The main problem is actually finding a good one these days.

    I had a 1.6 gx in silver, S reg. Bought for £350 from a backstreet dealer in Chatham. The electric window regulator didn't work and needed to be replaced and the air conditioning needed a regas but apart from that it performed admirably for 3 years. It did have a tendency to give me electric shocks though, but I forgive it for that. Good car.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому

      That sounds like a really good deal for £350! Must have been a while ago now. I remember buying cars of that era for that sort of money....

  • @thunderbug8640

    I fairly certain the GT could have the electric rear windows but it must have been an option or introduced later into production. I’m on my 2nd GT now, my first was a 98 hatch and my current one is a 97 saloon. The 98 car did have electric rear windows but the current 97 one doesn’t.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  2 місяці тому

      Yes, it does seem that rear electric windows on these earlier P11 Primera GTs was either an option, or they were unavailable. Thank you very much indeed for watching and commenting!

    Its funny the 1.6 also seemed to have a flat spot in tbe same sorr of area 4-5 k which I found often on the German autobahns.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
      @lloydvehicleconsulting  6 місяців тому +1

      The early 1.6s were a GA16 engine as used in the N15 Almera as well, so I imagine that would have been in your car as well. They are also great engines, actually.

    Nissan got it so right with the P11. Not sure what happened with the P12 but everything they did right with the 11 was not at all carried over or improved upon for the newer model. The late mid to late 90s was a fine period for cars

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting
