  • It’s been a year and 8 month since I started my hang gliding journey. I finally purchased my own harness!!!
It is Libero by Woody Valley. Pilots including my instructor talked highly about this harness so I decided to go with it. The parachute, Quadro 115 I also ordered from them. High quality, very light, very nice pod harness. I can’t wait to fly in it!!! Gotta give her a name…🤔

This makes me so happy to hear. I don’t make my contents to become reference resource. They are my journal and at most I wish to inspire people who watch my contents. Thank you so much for checking my vid out!

Libro is the lightest harness.. i bought one and they are going to ship it to me in about next 10 days.. light equipment is the best equipment.. my race HG harness is too heavy and hard to control on landing.. it was the time to get the very light HG harness.
i even bought a new very light race " GTO light 2" harness for paragliding and i am absolutely happy with it. Woody valley is making great quality and very light PH and Hg harness.

Yay Libero gang😎 only thing tho… other pilot at Blue Sky ordered the same harness right before me and the hardwear on his harness were different from mine. His is nicer honestly. Color and finish is different. Mine’s all plain black. My instructor was telling me another sign of manufactures way of saving cost or having hard time getting them… many things diminishing in hang gliding scares me a little..

I like how light and compact it is, and how it folds up into a (slightly oversized) backpack. Watching the video, I see many features that I like. One thing I don't like though, is that the leg loops are clickable buckles. The leg loops are perhaps the most critical part of the harness. There have been several fatalities over the years where the cause was due to the pilot not having their legs through the leg loops. When the harness is on and one is wearing the other gear (helmet, gloves, and multiple layers of clothing) it's easy to think one is attached and has their legs through the loops, when in fact they don't. I guess, please be aware of this and how easy it would be to not have ones legs in the loops, and make it part of your preflight inspection to check this every time you fly.

Oh, and welcome to the sport!

💯 I agreed. Leg loops issue is almost always pilots’ fault, forgetting to check if they have the leg loops on like me. Yes it is for sure a part of my preflight check🤓 I love this harness though.

I just ordered my cocoon from GreyFit. Can't wait for it to arrive! That Woody Valley looks pretty slick.

I considered GreyFit cus my good friend has it but never got to see it in person. I saw other pilot’s Libero at the flight park I go to and totally loved it and my instructor was recommending it so I went with it. If I’m getting a cocoon in the future I’ll definitely get GreyFit! I’m excited for you🤩

    Hey! That looks dope!😊
I thought young girl like you were gonna choose brighter color tho?

Mmmmm maybe it’s cus I’m not that young?😁 I’m almost 38. Really wanted white strip but they didn’t offer that color so I went with light gray. I love the shade it’s perfect! By my color choice of things and fashion people often say I’m boyish and yes I kinda am🦖 also I already know what color combo glider I want. This harness will go very nicely with my glider in my mind😊

@@nanoraflyz Think about making conspicuity your first priority in picking a sail color. How easy it will it be for other hang gliders and powered aircraft to see you in the air? In my experience one bright color is best. Hang gliders are too small to make contrasting colors effective. Consider the sky, clouds and terrain the contrasting color. Fluorescent polyester sails tend to fade badly after just a hundred hours, so it may be best to go with a regular bright color over fluorescent.
Dark leading edges are very hard to see head-on. Black, dark grey, dark blue, any dark color is surprisingly difficult to see when flying toward you at the same altitude. White is generally considered the best color for a leading edge. Where I fly a bunch of pilots bought Sports 3’s when they first came out. Most chose dark laminate sails. They looked great. Like something Batman would fly. But they were very difficult to see head-on and against mountain terrain. Most pilots realizing the mistake they made and added brightly-colored nose cones to their stealth gliders. Better. But still harder to see than a white leading edge.
What glider are you getting? I’ve heard great things about the Icaro Piuma from two H4’s that bought one. One already had a Falcon. The other had flown Falcons.

@@100headhunter100 thank you for your advice Marc. My heart is set for Icaro’s Piuma. It’ll be white, lime green and black but large part will be white. I’ll need to see what my instructor will say too. The leading edge Im thinking light gray but im still contemplating.

Are now l know how to open an close your fuselage have always been intrigued as to how you could open the zip to drop the undercarriage.
When is the first test flight ?.

Why did you choose Libero over Flex 2?

    • @nanoraflyz
      @nanoraflyz  Рік тому +2

Simply by my instructor’s as well as other pilots’ recommendations. Before I made up my mind I saw my pilot friend’s newly ordered Libero and saw my instructor going over about the harness. I really really liked what I saw so I went with it.

👋 I’m pretty sure I ordered in December so took three month. If you order it now hopefully it’ll get to ya before end of the flying season this year.

maybe lay something out on the concrete like a cargo blanket before dragging the brand (now used) harness across it?
