I agree with you that it is a lousy town now, comparing to the early 70's when we were on interstate 70 and heading toward Dunkirk Indiana. Interesting truck stop.
I lived there from 2017-2019. I can tell that years ago it was a really nice city but unfortunately it fell on hard times sometime in the last 30 or 40 years. It doesn't seem to have recovered. It's sad to see the conditions of some of the houses there. I do kind of miss it though.
Hello. I went to Earlham 1974-78 and walked everywhere. Back then the promenade was there and I shopped at Elder-Beerman, Jupiter and other stores long gone. No malls then. Pizza Queen and Pizza King close by the college - I went mostly to Pizza Queen.
Most of the people in Richmond are good people. But like any city, it has it's problems. I work in Richmond and my mother in law lives there. Richmond really is a pretty decent city. Thank you for sharing this
I lived in Richmond in 1974, I remember going to Hibbert Elementary and they were building the new high school. I don't remember the address we were at, but after school all the kids would go to the Dolly Madison store to look at the treats.
Richmond has it's safe areas and it's worse areas. Definitely try to avoid some of the north side. Greenwood apartments are the worst, so is genesis apartments and Norwood too. Definitely stay away from Richmond avenue and Glenn court
hey man nice video, i'm from Argentina and a friend recommended me to move to work in this city, i smoke weed, and i didn't ask him if there would be any trouble with that there, can you help me ?
Son, I think you'll be fine. Plenty of corruption in the police department. Infact, there is a cop on the SWAT team that wrecked his Jeep while filthy drunk in a residential school zone, he got off easy, and never served jail time and he is still working and has access to weapons and all data base information that he wants. Make friends and you are good- to- go!
Dayton Ohio is closer than Indy from Richmond.. within like 20/30 min. I worked by earlham at a restaurant and drove to CTC hoke road every day for school, Richmond has really fallen from gods grace the pAst few years.. too many who dont give a damn about anything..
Hello, happy I found your video. I just bought a house there but live in Texas now. I use this as rental property but would like to live there someday. What side of town 14th street on and is this a nice neighborhood? I’d also like to rent some of the rooms out being only myself and it’s too much house for. Is there a lot of business for this like subleasing to college kids stuff like that. Thanks again looking forward to more of your videos.
I'm from Richmond, and I love watching you tour the town. Go to the west side and southwest side ❤
I see Purina lol. Cambridge city Indiana here. I used to live on North 12th and N21st. Be safe and keep it up. Liked and subbed
I grew up in the Richmond area. There's some pretty awesome architecture there. It's a shame they have such little regard to historic buildings there.
I agree
When you say historic, how old does a building need to be before you think it's historic? 100 - 150 - 200 years? or longer?

Thanks for sharing a tour.
You’d think he’d give them whippers some love, for the sake of GOD fix them before they fix you.
The window wipers distracted me
Hey there! I am in the 47374!
I’m moving to that zip code in a couple weeks

Yes, the mall is on the east side of town.
The crown jewel of eastern Indiana. Not what it used to be but what is.

I grew up in Richmond. This makes me sick. It use to be a beautiful and wonderful community. Very sad.
Started out on North D, facing North 7th Street. You can see Ft. Wayne Ave. in the background.
I’m actually going there tomorrow for the 1st time
Good video man, I am possibly moving to Richmond area - is it a safe area? I see mixed reviews.
Richmond Indiana for the most part is decent you just have to do your due diligence and find the right type of community that you want to reside in

You could open an Argentinian restaurant here!

Right..Instead of improving where they live they'd rather fk up where they move.
