  • The story of Nambi Narayanan is a thriller soaked in tragedy. The ISRO scientist was a brilliant, arrogant, adamant rule-breaker, a man Tom Cruise’s Maverick from Top Gun might have admired. This is the review of the Bollywood movie Rocketry: The Nambi Effect written and directed by R. Madhavan.

The problems this lady had was:
    - Shahrukh Khan was interviewing
    - The crew cried giving us a cue to cry too
    - They repeatedly used daring and similar adjectives to describe him
    - They used liquid solid cryogenic stability margins too often (which weren't supposed to be used cause this was a romcom right?!)
    - He prayed at crucial times (Which isn't something expected out of someone. Only at leisure times people pray)
    - He was a blue eyed patriot

Instead of appreciating a brave attempt on such subject you ridicule his attempt.
The first half was required to show what was he upto. A scientist with his caliber was treated like a common thief.
A lack of knowledge of Solid fuel, liquid fuel and cryogenic engine on your part doesn't make it a bad movie. Probably ppl can read about them before going to movie.

The film may have some technical flaws but it is a BRILLIANT film and more than that, a brilliant story that we as Indians must know. With all due respect, Mr. Rajkumar Hirani’s films are also brilliant but they are technically flawed too. Kindly try not to take away from the ingenuity of this film with such remarks.
I don’t understand why you need to even mention that he was a Hindu patriot? A patriot is a patriot. If he happens to be a Hindu/ Brahmin and somebody who has a certain way of life then that’s how it is. How does it matter what religion he is. The audiences would never even think of such a crass point, so you didn’t really have to make it. How does that matter? Madhavan must have spent so much time with the Scientist. If he is like that in real life, he would have to show him like that or no? He is just a God fearing man, he could have been from any religion or faith. Thank God people do not take you that seriously.
Most importantly, why would you ask people to watch it on a streaming platform? People should watch this kind of film only in a Theatre and may be give a second watch on a streaming platform. I bet you would not have dared to say that of your friends’ films. I had to mention all that just to let you know that you do get biased. You being a part of the industry, at least don’t ask people to watch such good film on OTT platforms. We can do that for other brainless big budget films that are unbearably bad but yet you ask people to go watch them in theatre for they are ‘paisa vasool’. So is this one Madam. Thank you for making many people go to see the movie. I really feel pity for you and your ilk Anupama. It is beyond your comprehension that the movie delicately veers away from taking any names in the movie. Its amazing how you actually point out to an incident in a biopic to be taken from some Dilip Kumar movie. And we knew what is definitely beyond your comprehension (science, history and integrity of character) will be given shades like majoritarianism, emotionality and lets not forget 'scientific jargon' !!

Showing the flag etc. during emotional scenes reduces the effect of such scenes and it feels cheap. You won't understand this unless you understand how storytelling works.

Madhavan deserves appreciation to make scientifically accurate description, respecting science and scientists of our nation. Reviewer complains that this movie has complex scientific terminology. At the same time, it is difficult to understand how our nations’ movie reviewers single heartedly appreciate movies like Interstellar, Inception, matrix, which talk intricate science and use such terminology, even though they don’t understand . Is this white skin effect? Is this more important problem or a dedicated scientist following his personal faith is the problem? When our directors talk science, reviewers become narrow minded and make fun of them. I would like to wholeheartedly appreciate Madhavan and his team including SRK and Suriya to make scientifically accurate to the extent possible and this will inspire our nation’s aspiring science students for sure. I think more than religion or racial bias, students of science getting inspired from such a story of Nambi sir, is the triumph of this movie.

I'm from IIT, here in iit, there some from prof.s who went to MIT, caltech or oxford. But they came back to india just to serve the country and they want to help the nation to grow in science and Nambi sir is the ultimate example of this.
I'm very sure this one is hard to digest for you but its true, please go and talk to these people, mere sitting in comfortable room with camera team and 2 hr internet study won't fetch you good critic at all.
and the science events they used like jet flame is almost accurate.

Wow. True blue hindu patriot... What nonsense! Have you ever visited a Tam-Brahm's house? Even the people who don't give weight to religion in interacting with people enjoy many traditions simply because they like it. Don't simply put a religious twist to everything and be a pseudo. It's just showing his home and atmosphere. Not everything is toxic Hindutva. Just shows your utter ignorance.
Nambi Narayanan has travelled to far more places in his time and collaborated with do many different intelligent people. And what an extraordinarily intelligent man he was... The last thing that would affect his decision making and craftsmanship is his religion. If you were really good at your craft, you would at least be writing screenplays instead of finding faults in them. Even a 5 year old can say food tastes bad. But how many can cook?
If you have nothing better to do than finding targets... Start with commenting on all the idiots who use #omshanti for political favour.

After watching this movie, I really prayed god ask how can you be so much cruel to such a gem person who has sacrificed his life for humanity and didn't expect anything for his personal purpose. Please don't give this type treatment to this kind people. Seriously everyone should watch this movie and know who is the respected genius Nambi Narayan is. And I really amazed by R. Madhavan Sir. Such a good actor and now a best writter and director. Really he did a great justice in his department. Please everyone go to the theatre and make this type of content hit. So that in future we will see this type of content and effort more and more.

ROCKETRY.... a film every Bharatiya must watch.
R.Madhavan does a decent job as the Director n Producer.
Film's 1st half lacks pace but feels like a high class realistic documentary.
2nd half is superbly presented n brings in tears into your eyes. Pitch perfect acting by R.Madhavan n other cast.
Mr.Nambi Narayan n Shahrukh Khan also do a cameo in the film. A film well made- based on Bharat's journey into space and the sacrifices of our scientists.
