Longer vids are better and great for UA-cam watch time, keep them up 🙂 What a great adventure and mission success guys and love the edit and music Hyeshin. 🎣
Cheers Mike, tried a bit of a different editing style this time :) glad you enjoyed it. Looks like people enjoy longer videos. Just gotta get a bit more efficient at editing as it took a long time to edit this one, haha
@@Fishingreminder You might have heard but about a week ago a Ray similar to the one in epic video washed up on the small bay in front of the cafe. Would love to fish with me favorite ytuber’s next time. Mid to late April is Salmon time on the Waitaki
@@kingmarz3635 O wow, haven't heard that. Wonder how it died. Next time we'll catch up for sure. I was down at the Waitaki mouth when the kahawai were running on our way back up North. Was pretty good.
Thank you for the video and I found it very interesting 🙂. Interesting as I surf cast and also live a little North of Oamaru. A piece of advice regarding removing large hooks. Take a pair of pliers / cutters with you and instead of trying to remove the hook and barb in one piece, you can cut the barb off! I only do that when it's difficult, as it is so much quicker and puts less stress on the fish and damage to it!
Awesome, thanks for the tip Richard, luckily this time the hooks wasn't too difficult to remove. The hook remover tool was just a little on the short side. But will take some cutters with me next time around. I wonder if it would be better to fish with barbless hooks altogether.
Barbless hooks are good when you can keep pressure on the fish and / or bring them straight in. Unfortately all a fish has to do is shake their head and they're GONE! Happy fishing 🙂.
The best lures are probably spin lures for kahawai, like small silver spoons. I don't think you'll catch much on the bottom with softbaits as besides kahawai there aren't a lot of fish around that take lures.
great video, I love it 😅
Thank you, glad you enjoyed :)

What lures would go good in there and what can be caught also soft bait any good I'm here fishing atm
