Good video. I love SD. I hunted around Custer a few times years ago for whitetails. I intended to come back this year for some badlands muley's but did not stay on top of the rule change and had a tearful moment when I looked at the regs. Been trying to get the family to agree to move to SD, not with any success. Definitely plan to try it again 2023.
@@drested1793 nice! Never been there. I’m from South Dakota. Your family should reconsider lol. South Dakota is awesome, especially if you love to hunt. Obviously New Mexico has great hunting as well! Love it up here tho! Hope you get back here to hunt.
I live in South Dakota too. Some of us are easy to get along with and would love to hunt down in New Mexico hunting elk. Get some of that experience and invite someone down and trade knowledge or guiding.
Drew a limited draw deer tag for 2023. Will be my first time in South Dakota and hunting mule deer. Actually my first ever out of state hunting trip, I'm from Ohio and will be 51 years old. Do you have any recommendations for where I should go, just looking to see a mature mule deer. Thanks for any info. Love your videos and the South Dakota scenery is heavenly. Absolutely can not wait to get there. Which will be the first or second week of October with my son.
Congrats on the tag, that’s exciting. Without knowing exactly what unit your tag is good for, I would suggest looking over the map to try to find good areas to glass lots of country or specific bottoms. Glassing and covering country is a good strategy. Good luck and enjoy SD.
Dude 70 yards at an alert deer. Bad choice. have no fear we all make them bad decisions at some point in the moment hoping to get lucky. In my experience its better to guess low and hope the deer ducks into it. Well mostly im giving you shit.
close counts only in horseshoes and hand grenades! 60-70 yards is a long poke..I hunt the Badlands, getting close is tough but I owe it to the game I pursue But, overall I like the film
@@geteven3107, so many variables multiply at long ranges On my first mule derr trip in 88, I shot at one getting some black hair and no blood.Turned out to be 65 paces. The soil aborbs any blood, so never again .I realize 40 yds might actully pace out to fifty range is decieving in the badlands.

Thanks! A good challenge is what makes it fun, good luck this fall.
nobody hopes or tries for a 60 yarder! My best mulie was 62yds...unfortunately. Without the practice I wouldn't have shot him.

Is that a new razor spotting scope? which one is that
That is an older razor model, maybe around 2016 or so.
