this video doesn't do this justice. in person it has this warm, eerily intimate david lynch quality to it. it's mesmerizing. highly recommend checking it out.
I've heard of this song in my art class 5 years ago and Was obsessed with this song. I forgot all about it till I heard a resembling sound some where. I've been searching for this song for about a year now and thank God I found it! I almost went crazy when I thought I wouldn't find it again 😭
I was able to see this piece at the fort worth modern and it has remained one of the single most incredible experiences I've had with art. Such an incredible piece of work.
did anyone else feel that hauntingly empty feeling when the installation was shut down each night? i found myself standing there for an extra 15, praying someone would turn it back on.
I've been twice now, and each time is truly a moving experience! The movie, the music, the sights and sounds of the city... Completely mesmerizing! A slow walk around the building with a continually changing perspective, or just grabbing some grass and absorbing it that way! Anyone living here in the DC area who loves the arts and misses this, is really missing out!!!
Yes, it is. It is indoors though and you also get a 360 convex view from within. So you don't have to walk around, just place yourself in the center and turn a bit. It must be incredible to see it outdoors and on that bigger scale. I think being inside the circle might have made the loneliness of urban dwelling sharper.
Tim Mcafee-Lewis is an absolute force of nature. As one of the hundreds of people he co-directs in the Agape International Choir, I ought to know! He astounds us weekly.
I was just there over Thanksgiving, and I wanna second this. The whole thing is mind-blowing.This piece and Sonic Fountain II (aka the epic dirt puddle situation) are worth it alone, and everything else is like multiple extra layers of icing on the cake.

i, too, kept thinking of david lynch while watching. it's totally cool, i hope the hirshhorn shows it every once in awhile, since they'll own it.
until the 27th of september you can see this in frankfurt/germany at the schirn museum. it's amazing!

I just saw this at MOCA in Los Angeles, get down and see it if possible - it's wonderful. Geffen Contemporary, 152 N. Central Ave.
