As an old fart over here who lived through all this you explained it perfectly. I totally get this aesthetic as I lived it but it was called something else then, so hearing your definition is helpful to keep me in the loop as much as an older person can. Plus it helps me talk fashion with my 14 year old niece 😊
One thing that definitely sucks is that I love in canada and it's SO hard too find cute downtown girl stuff here. there's no brandy Melville or anything like that which is sad since I definitely wanted to get more into the downtown girl this fall even though the trend is kind of over. love the video though. ❤
YES so true... like now that i live in toronto i have access to brandy but other than that there isnt much, but Garage is the best for pants and some baby tees and H&M has good graphics
@@cinnamon5225 I definitely can buy online but I just don't find a lot of things that I like that don't cost a lot of money. H&M does sell some cute graphics but I have have been trying to avoid fast fashion for many reasons. I love garage but it is a little pricy and I definitely don't have a lot to spend. I've gone thrifting many times before but everything I find there is not what I'm looking for especially since I live in a smaller town with not a lot of stores.
I really love this style but the thing is, I have see through bangs. would the hairstyles with see thru bangs still fit the downtown aesthetic ?? ( this question might sound kind of dumb but I’m curious 😭 ) love the video btw !!
by see through bangs im going to assume you mean kind of whispy bangs? If so, i definitely think it would work! i think it would add some femininity to the styles and would be super cute
@@MariaDiaz-ih7os I think the clip & the buns would look super similar... and would almost be easier. Instead of making the buns like regular buns, just loop through like a pony tail and stop halfway, leaving some hair out
why have i always dressed similar to this and do my hair similarly 😭. like graphic tee’s and low rise/bootcut jeans and converse have always been my go to💀
Tip for people who dont have access to the shops stated in the video (like me, who lives in europe): I would like to add that, while not being the most ethical either, pull&bear, stradivarious and bershka, have had this style for fall and winter for the last xouple years, so deffinetly visit them!! They're not expensive and the clothes may not be the best quality but Ive had jeans that have lasted me YEARS and shirts I still wear, so id say as long as you treat the clothes well and buy stuff you ABSOLUTELY LOVE and you know you'll wear a lot, They're also good places to shop!!
Im guessing you wear your hair curly then? I think it would depend on the length of your hair but low space buns would look super cute, and its hard to explain in words but this is a good alternative for the claw clip style: www.pinterest.ca/pin/955748352149791988/
How can I be a downtown girl with bangs?? I would love to have them but I have to do dance do I need to be bang-less and have long hair. Do you have any suggestions? :)
I feel like curtain bangs or long bangs are cute, and make it easy to slick back for dance but honestly any of these hairstyles with short bangs are still super cute, since they make it look more innocent. I used to be a cheerleader, so I totally understand short bangs can be annoying to put up but with some clips & gel it stays back pretty well.
I’m bringing the downtown girl aesthetic back for fall 2024🔥🔥
Yessss
Samee
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS EXACT COMMENT
Same gurllll
Sammeeeee❤
I have such a love hate relationship with curated aesthetics but I love the downtown girl look!
I’ve always naturally dressed like this, did not give it a thought, just wear things I gravitate towards, and I find out it’s actually now a trend. 😅
DOWNTOWN GIRL 4 LIFEE

This video was such a life saver, thank you so much. College made me get an identity crisis haha

I have shoes in the style of Timberlands. Can I combine them with the downtown girl look?
Ik i sound kinda stupid but will long dress work? Or with baggie tops? Like i m a muslin and I can’t really wear tight clothes ….
I'd suggest really baggy tops & pants, then, more of a streetwear take
would a wolf cut be good for a downtown girl life style
omg yes!!! it fits the vibe so well
me being a boy but i love the aesthetic and dress like it
4:00 shop
I have problem which is that my hair is more of a curly thick poof hair idk what kind of hairstyles would fit the aesthetic and not damage my hair yk
I think that claw clips & half up/half down styles look cute for curly hair!!
can you do braids, like Dutch of French? They always look pretty cute x
sooo im black, i wear my hair in braids- have any ideas for hair?

hi!! where is the rack that you hang your clothes on from?
It's from ikea
I love the hair styles, but it’s kind going to be rough with my wavy hair😅
SAME!! ugh I'm looking for a good haircut for my wavy hair but it's just difficult to choose a suitable haircut
I have a pear body shape which lead to mini skirt looking disgusting on me
Hi

@@tasmiahsafia6883 thing is u can only take 3 pieces a month and honestly selection sucks and its really small, but once in a while u'll find a gem

I heard just heard about this style recently and I think I might want to invest to it :)
Summer girl ☀️ 💓🫶🏼--> downtown girl😎💿
Where is the leather jacket from?
the brand is Danier, but I thrifted it, I always see tons of them thrifting so they're easy to find!
