The fact that Kim Gordon just dropped a banger at 70 years old makes this video even more special (to me). Spike’s right, she’s the coolest girl in the world. Edit: was that Padma Laksmi on the runway??
A lot of professional video from the 80s and 90s actually looks great, but most of what we get to see was recorded on low quality consumer VHS tapes and then digitally captured very poorly, then further compressed when uploaded to UA-cam.
HD cameras existed in the 90s. People also had access to HDTVs. It’s true that most people only had a tube tv with standard definition and a VHS player but if you could afford it HDTVs and DVD players were available to view and consume HD content. As a 90s kid I find this comment so funny, you make it seem like the 90s was the 80s or 70s.
@@endlessnameless6494 I love how confidently wrong you are. Kim lived in upstate New York until the age of 5 when her parents, both midwesterners, relocated to LA for her dad's work as an academic. When ppl are like "shut up about the 90s already" I be like "no" and then watch shit like this lool. I find it hilarious how desperately ppl try to capture that carefree 90s vibe whether through filters, style, music, or put-on attitude. (that doesn't mean I hate modern culture, or the 00s, or 80s, or 70s but most people tend to choose the 90s above the other decades for a reason)
Also just NYC privlidege, to be honest. I was 15 and in the midwest and as a young, wanna be hipster kid in Nowhere, I would watch stuff like this and think "must be nice". Same with Amherst, Mass or whatever. Geographic privlidege, if that is even a thing. The 90's were fun, but they certainly weren't THAT great in Middle America.
