Thank you so much for this video! You saved me $200. I’m a woman, and usually take my car to the dealership for maintenance. But I found this video and the Mann filter for $25 so I figured I would give it a shot. I followed the instructions step by step and changed my filter myself! Took me about 30 min, that includes watching the video and searching through my husbands tool box for the right tools! Thank you!

Mercedes dealerships charge you $100.00 just to answer their phone !! Thank you for this video. I recently had a simple oil change by the Mercedes dealership which charged me $297.34. Total rip off. Now, I buy the correct synthetic oil and filter from an ordinary auto parts store, then take it to Jiffy Lube and they charge me their standard $59.00 to put in the oil and filter. I have also found several good independent Mercedes mechanics who are great. NO MORE DEALERSHIPS !!

Thank you. I looked at my engine and thought ‘oh my, how the heck do I get to the air filter?’ and your video clearly explained it. I’m sure you just save me a lot of
money. I just changed the low beam bulb too. Nice little flat in wheel well helps with that.

Just mine today. 2012 ml 350. Issues I had were. Air temp clip was hard to unclip. The push clip came off. Had to spray silicone stuff to put the clip in. That metal clamp was a pain need sidecutters. Other then that it was a breeze. My accord is 10times easier. Takes maybe 30 sec. This took me 30min

Hi Ivan, i have the same M276/W166 2012 ML350. I used to get and am getting whistling noise on cold starts near the serpentine belt/pulley under the hood. I changed the 6 intake manifold gaskets and crankcase vent valve since I got the P2279 code for vacuum leak. This noise doesn’t come in warm season. Moreover it goes away after a few minutes (always used to go away after a few minutes and repeating the same) but there is no error code coming up now. I have seen various other videos if you can search on UA-cam as well where some suggested the crankcase might be the issue but I got to hear again this morning after coming back from the mechanic who did the replacement. Have you ever heard anything of that sort? May be I can share the video to you?

Ivan Schlachter Thanks! I have seen lots before. There is pre filter and cabin air filters (these go together) which I changed last year. I also bought the engine air filter last year but will change sometime soon. Spark plugs and engine air filter change can be done together since the filter is on the way. Anyways, if you get more info, let me know.

what is going to save real money is the transmission oil service!
It's a perfect nose bleed that requires patience and the right ATF fluid... or 1Hr labor for a $2000
invoice - Which is it going to be??

@@IvanSchlachter start with a search for your transmission model... 6 vs. 9 speeds.
Next figure what specific oil you need. Benz keeps changing ATF grades and color ...
Next check that you can read the transmission actual temperature with your ODB2 scanner (... under data)
Next get all the replacement parts or a kit. Of course they have you drop the pan and replace the one-time use aluminum bolts.
Supposedly you should drain the torque converter with its own drain plug... I would bet my shirt dealers don't mess with it.
One more reason to do it yourself for less than $100 - or better yet: do it twice at interval without draining the converter!
The key is to prevent build up of clutch sludge in the valve body.
Last, RESET THE TRANSMISSION adaptations so the shift points are relearned with fresh ATF.
      🙂

@@IvanSchlachter perfect mileage to swap your passenger side tensioner and see how the gasket is holding or leaking.
( The oil pump design pressure is between 2 and 4 bars so when the gasket is ripe, pressure blows it out)
