- In this video I make a change to my 2004 Epiphone SG. I take the neck humbucker and replace it with a nice P90 I got for cheap.
I actually lied a little bit and this isn't the first mod that I've made. I did actually reset the nut and replace the knobs, but I would say this is a fundamental rework of what the SG is.
I'd you'd like to see me replace the tuners, let me know. They feel really bad!
Any tips or tricks I could do with, let me know!
Great video and sounds great too. IDK that I've ever seen a P90 with that silver cover before, but it works so well as a HB replacement for Epiphone's naked HH's on the SG and LP models. The neck pickup on my old LP from when I was a teen around that same timeframe is SUPER wolfy and bassy so I may need to do something similar.
@sumias3042 Yeah, I was surprised with how good it sounds clean! Certainly not as bottom heavy in terms of sound. As I mentioned though, I do think it loses some of that clarity with High gain but that's to be expected somewhat. And for 50 quid for 2, a bit of a bargain
Good job bro. I just started soldering and this video helped.
@randyandamberthompson9972 Thanks Man! Glad to hear it was helpful!
Whomever would do that to a guitar with all those stickers needs to be in prison.
@RickNasty42069YOLO Hahaha! It's not for everyone certainly. It's one of those pop punk things that I did years ago. Inspired by Noodles from The Offspring.
I think it’s a right of passage as a teenager to have a guitar wrapped in stickers. Wish I kept mine😢
@@SearchingForTone That's it! That SG is definitely from a time in my life when Punk and Pop Punk had a real hold on me.
'Tone' stickers by any chance?
@DMSProduktions Hey, Thanks for commenting! I don't quote get what you mean though. You mean on the knobs?
@@SonicChronicle LOL no, the stickers dude!
;o)
@@DMSProduktionseveryone knows that blur stickers give the best tone 👌🏻
@@Tcoldsteel WOO HOO!
