@sumias3042 Yeah, I was surprised with how good it sounds clean! Certainly not as bottom heavy in terms of sound. As I mentioned though, I do think it loses some of that clarity with High gain but that's to be expected somewhat. And for 50 quid for 2, a bit of a bargain

I'll need to give Brave a listen. I'm actually a Damo fan! I kinda lost track of him after To Hell or Barbados but I'm familiar with everything up to that. I still remember the first time I heard him on Other Voices back when it was actually about other voices. Excellent stuff. He played Negative Vibes. Teen me was enthralled. He doesn't get enough credit.

Mike isn't bad certainly. Not the best guitarist in the world from a technical, lead perspective. But writes good guitar parts. Largely chord based, but works for the songs.

@nicolasflamel2905 I should have been clearer. I was referring to his riffs there. That based on when I've played Pearl Jam songs, there's a lot of standard Triad, "cowboy chord" stuff. Like how the main riff on alive is based around an A chord. Or how Black is based around an E/E7.

@SonicChronicle An album that came out 16 years ago. One that she intended to crossover to general audiences and be an international hit. This artist and the one who sang Halo are two different artist.

@SonicChronicle The track is #2 on the billboard country charts. So there's that. Also as a hard left from Act 1, it's very interesting and furthers the notion of her reclaiming black voices in spaces we have historically been removed from. This was a promo single to introduce us to sounds she would be exploring on Act 2, not a dissertation on the current state of country music and what it should be. A light rockabilly banjo heavy uptempo dance track, with a hard country edge.

@SonicChronicle oh look. Something we can agree on. This is the upbeat carefree more typical country of TWO tracks she released. This is a song for line dances and two steps, not deep storytelling. That would be the 2nd of the singles. Back to disagreements. The vocal stacking and harmonies are immaculate despite the simplicity, and are the highlights of the song. As the acts are shrouded in secrecy, she released what she released to keep said secrecy going. Beyonce has sold only moderately for Beyonce, seeing as though her last 3 albums have been socially divisive. This single and hard genre shift is a response to an issue that happened at the CMAs where she was made to feel uncomfortable for singing a country song at a country awards show (Daddy Lessons). Now who is Rhiannon? As in rings like a bell in the night, wouldn't you love to love her?
