I’m happy you touched on overeating because that’s something many skip over. I feel like a lot of times when the Bible talks about gluttony peoples first think about people being alcoholics but I definitely think overeating is a problem for many people. We shouldn’t be doing it but so many of us, including me, overeat daily. It’s something that’s I’ve been praying for help with because God does want us to be healthy and the best version of ourselves.
wow thank you for praying for those who are suffering from alcohol and drugs. i am now 4 yrs sober from drugs and 3 yrs sober from alcohol and 2 yrs ciggarette free. i dedicated my life to jesus last year i got baptised in the bay. you have helped me with my proverbs study. thank you so much. so just so everyone knows there is a christian based program called celebrate recovery that will help anyone who has addictions even with food.
This hit me this morning...my dad was a "happy drunk" if that makes sense...he was never mean but he had a problem...thank you for all you do here in your ministry for us💚

Proverbs 23: 13 & 14 KJV: Withhold not correction from the child for if thou beatest him with the rod he shall not die. 14: Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. There’s a Hebrew word “Musar” : meaning discipline, chastening, correction. The Zondervan KJV Commentary states: The momentary unpleasantness that accompanies correcting the child is experienced by the parent and the child. Applied by a loving parent, such discipline may save the child from a life of self-indulgence which would land him in hell.(14) You are a blessing. Keep it up. 🙏🏽🙏🏽👍👍😇
Thank you for going in depth about drinking. I drink occasionally but lately due to external circumstances I’ve been having thoughts about drinking more often. Today’s verses added some Arsenal to my thoughts and I have something to fight the negative thoughts with.
Heyy! The rod can be both figuratively and literal. There are different measures of disciplinary action. What the WORD is saying is: Even if you spank a child, he/she won't die from it (be moderate) That's just my thoughts on it ❤❤
I spank my children. Prov 19:18: “Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.” Prov 22:15: “Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.” Prov 23:13-14: “Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die.
I always have so many internal conflict over discipline because I don’t believe in physical discipline. I don’t have any children yet but I’m a childcare provider so I know that there are ways that work when discipling children but when I read the Bible sometimes I’m conflicted because it talks so much about the rod.
I think the rod refers to guidance, not an actual, physical rod. I myself practice gentle parenting and I don't discipline using physical means. If you think about how God disciplines us - He does it in a very loving way. Hope this helps!❤️
I believe discipline doesn't have to be physical, they are probably that referring to the rob to makes us understand that discipline can be uncomfortable but at the same toke very helpful. * Altough I'm the kind of mum who spanks my babies on their little bums for time to time 😅
V4. Yes it s good to work hard and to look for money but don't become a slave of money. Remember God is our provider so He knows our needs and He will provide accordingly. V13.
