After watching eega movie you will know how perfectly he used vfx in the movie. In last 30 min he used vfx so perfectly. That last shot in fire 🔥. If u watch it in theatre you will see fly in that fire too. Instant goosebumps .
As a telugu girl grew up watching Tollywood... I can say not all our films are too good... but you can choose right ones... I would suggest you "Magadheera" as it is from the same director as RRR and same actor Ram Charan from RRR. Its kind of love story and one of my fav. Thanks for the recognition though... I also feel EEGA is too good and underrecognised.
Same here, grew up watching tollywood and I have seen it growing with me as I age, though when I was a kid most of the high budget movies were the commercial ones, eega was a big step for rajamouli, because he did it without any "star heroes", so it was a movie which was solely ran with his storytelling skills, i feel eega is a type of movie which movie lovers from any country would love to watch, because the story was so universal, you don't need to know any cultural context beforehand to enjoy the movie, now after RRR mania eega is starting to get the attention of foreign audience which it deserved all along.

You really feel the scale of everything from the Flys point of view, like a bug spray or the sparrows chasing it. You can ignore 2,6,7,10,11. We like or even love these but westerners may not. Please suggest what they may like and love, not what we liked and loved.

God replies that he can reincarnate as a human again. Then, the protagonist tells God that it will take years for him to grow up and take revenge on him. Before long the bad guy would have trapped his lover and would have "used her", to put it politely. So, God gave him an alternative, that is to be born as a fly and take revenge, immediately, but have only 7-15 days to live (the life span of a fly). The protagonist accepts. I heard that the director or the writer, I don't know who, gave the above explanation in an interview. But, the length of the movie was getting to long and also the director's previous movie "Magadheera" had a similar theme. So, to deal with those issues they hadn't included that scene during the movie making.

@Sainath I feel bad that Sye was the only SSR movie I couldn't get into. Main characters just weren't really likeable to me. Got better towards the very end though. He'll probably feel the strong cultural difference in this one. I'd recommend this as a watch after going through the better SSR movies.

A Tollywood movie called Athadu gives better description of life in south Indian village where you get to see joint families, relationships. A criminal eacapes from police and enters a family in disguise of someone who is about to reunite with them after been missing for 14 years but ultimately had to reveal his identity. Film makes me think a lot about ethics , morality and relations. The protagonist does everything that a family member has to be doing and ultimately wins their hearts. A must watch movie.

True, it's Very underrated industry but they're making some grand big budget films now which will release soon !! Then they'll gain more popularity overseas !! Those upcoming films include Zombie apocalypse film, Periodic movies, Fantasy movies, High octane spy action movies, Superhero movie sequel and it's universe films !! But too much realistic is a course. There is so many culture related topics that can be turned into cool fictional stories. I am sad thay are not exploring such areas. Even if someone tried to make fiction, the movie will end saying that "there is no magic or fiction, it was all just trick.

Don't watch KGF, it's trash. I felt so tired watching both films (it's like watching an anime protagonist get stronger and stronger nonsenically), unlike RRR where i didn't not feel tired/bored/sleepy after watching its entire 3 hours.
Hey, as you have watched all these larger-than-life films (which is excellent and I recommend you to match more of these kinds of films from Tollywood), just for a change, watch movies like Jersey, Care of Kancherapalem, Mahanati, Vedam, Yevade Subramanyam, Arjun Reddy (for now), these are on the other end of the spectrum. You'll love them for sure.
Good to see the English people are watchin the original version of movie not the dubbed one. Its a TELUGU movie. It's a language that has thousand s of years of history and a mother tongue of crores of people.
Yep eega was such an underrated gem..especially Sudeep's acting was top notch..he completely sold a guy being tormented by a fly..perfect casting imho even though he was from kannada film industry and the movie is from Telugu film industry..again kudos to the vision of the director S.S.Rajamouli..i remember watching this at the cinemas as a kid and was wholeheartedly rooting for the fly!!! Bro I grew up watching tollywood/telugu movies in the 2000s when they were low budget hyper violent rom coms. I eventually fell out of them and watched other industries more but never could I have imagined these movies would become worldwide and people from everywhere would be LOOKING to watch them. RRR changed the landscape with so many foreign audience watching it like a cult film. I guess tollywood changed massively in the mid 2010s with the director rajamouli making higher budget epics. I can't really recommend too many tollywood movies as if you watch enough you realize there isn't much originality but I guess you can check out Magadheera which is another epic by the same director as eega/baahubali/RRR as well as Drushyam (originally tamil) which is a great mystery thriller

sweetie watch Arya 2 (2009), this movie was my introduction to Tollywood, I've been hooked since then. ( don't confuse it with Arya 1, the 2nd movie is not a sequel to the 1st movie, it's kind of a remake of the first movie story, and it just has the same actor playing the hero role).
hey there man. gotta a recommendation for you. before eega, the same director made another film called 'maryada ramanna'. its in youtube and its quite a shot movie. can be finished in one go maybe. its a good family drama. you would love it. although its not like any or rajamouli's movies in recent times. it is as rich in story as in eega.

Drishyam 1 Remake is Good
Don't watch KGF, it's trash. I felt so tired watching both films (it's like watching an anime protagonist get stronger and stronger nonsenically), unlike RRR where i didn't not feel tired/bored/sleepy after watching its entire 3 hours.
U should replace your KGF with RRR or Magadheera or any other good movie....

Hey, as you have watched all these larger-than-life films (which is excellent and I recommend you to match more of these kinds of films from Tollywood), just for a change, watch movies like Jersey, Care of Kancherapalem, Mahanati, Vedam, Yevade Subramanyam, Arjun Reddy (for now), these are on the other end of the spectrum. You'll love them for sure.

Yep eega was such an underrated gem..especially Sudeep's acting was top notch..he completely sold a guy being tormented by a fly..perfect casting imho even though he was from kannada film industry and the movie is from Telugu film industry..again kudos to the vision of the director S.S.Rajamouli..i remember watching this at the cinemas as a kid and was wholeheartedly rooting for the fly!!!

Bro I grew up watching tollywood/telugu movies in the 2000s when they were low budget hyper violent rom coms. I eventually fell out of them and watched other industries more but never could I have imagined these movies would become worldwide and people from everywhere would be LOOKING to watch them. RRR changed the landscape with so many foreign audience watching it like a cult film. I guess tollywood changed massively in the mid 2010s with the director rajamouli making higher budget epics. I can't really recommend too many tollywood movies as if you watch enough you realize there isn't much originality but I guess you can check out Magadheera which is another epic by the same director as eega/baahubali/RRR as well as Drushyam (originally tamil) which is a great mystery thriller

sweetie watch Arya 2 (2009), this movie was my introduction to Tollywood, I've been hooked since then. ( don't confuse it with Arya 1, the 2nd movie is not a sequel to the 1st movie, it's kind of a remake of the first movie story, and it just has the same actor playing the hero role).
hey there man. gotta a recommendation for you. before eega, the same director made another film called 'maryada ramanna'. its in youtube and its quite a shot movie. can be finished in one go maybe. its a good family drama. you would love it. although its not like any or rajamouli's movies in recent times. it is as rich in story as in eega.
