Bombay city from 1980's - archival footage of Mumbai
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 вер 2019
- A sentimental look at the Bombay of yore, with diesel spewing buses, crows on the roads, and a simpler, older city with fewer vehicles.
A sharp viewer tells us that this is from 1988. At 0:19 there is a movie poster behind the bus, for 'Hawas Ka Shikari' which was released in 1988.
Old archival footage of a horde of people crossing the then not so congested streets of Bombay now known as Mumbai. Traffic and crowd are synonymous to Mumbai as can be seen in the clip. Do not miss the red double-decker bus and the black-yellow fiat taxis which can still be seen running on the roads of Mumbai.
With heritage Victorian architecture in abundance, one can see how the high-res buildings have taken over. From Marine Drive, the city with its buildings give a feeling of Manhattan's sealine.
Bombay had Double decker buses in the 1980's!
Workers rush out of a building on office getting over in 1980's Mumbai (OK, Bombay then!). Yellow and black Fiat or Premier Padmini taxis as well as double decker buses were standard and common, at Victoria Terminus and around the city!

These kind of videoes always reminds me how small we all are as individuals, how small our problems are, time keeps going on, people comes, lives and dies, and we all too gonna die soon but world never stops, no one gonna remember you after you are gone bcoz those who suppose to remember you will also be gone after few years, we are just very very very small part of this universe, its reminder to live our life to fullest, doing whatever you want to do without worrying about what others gonna think about something, its reminder that all our problems are of no importance against this universe, and at last its reminder that LIFE IS SO BEAUTIFULL.

You can't beat the feeling of nostalgia.
I still remember trains used to be almost empty on Sundays, it was great, I used to go from Borivali to Churchgate in the morning, buy a couple of beers from the wine shop in Churchgate and spend my time in Nariman point near Air India bldg, cool breeze, then go off to Bandra, couple of beers more with friends near bandstand and then evening return home to Borivali...it was peaceful. Then somewhere around the 90s things changed for the worse and in 2003 I just had enough of Bombay and left it for good.
Until 1984 people used to learn driving near Bandstand and Hotel Searock it was that quiet.
