If I bought an expensive sports car, I would fully expect some people to ask why I wanted or thought I needed it. I could respond by stating my legal right to own it, but that wouldn't be responding to the question in a meaningful way.

It was a felony if you were caught carrying a loaded firearm in public or in your car. If someone broke into your home and you shot and killed them, if they fell outside the door, then you were charged with killing them, so people would pull the dead criminals inside to avoid prosecution. Eventually we we got pro gun lawmakers elected in my state, and changed the laws. Now we can carry a firearm in public, no permit required, and use deadly force against anyone that threatens our safety. Before these laws passed, the critics all said it would be like the wild west, with shootouts in the streets if everyone was armed in public, but just the opposite happened, crime dropped like a rock. It worked because dead criminals don't re offend and would be criminals have the fear of God instilled in them when surrounded by armed people. Many states have seen the low crime statistics of public carry states like mine and are now copying the laws. There's alot of entertaining videos on YT under the search words "CCW in action" that shows criminals being shot by citizens in public carry states. When states first enact these laws, I noticed the number of gun deaths spike real high, I assume due to the criminals being cleansed from the gene pool, and then they suddenly drop real low. Anyway, I hope you guys can eventually get enough pro gun lawmakers elected and get your laws changed.

The number of "around 10,000" that I quoted was for homicides - total number of deaths involving firearms is something like 3-4 times that. My family in Russia believed then, and still today, that our 2nd Amendment is the most incredible freedom to have. Stalin like Hitler, disarmed their people from firearms so their tyranny could prevail on their own people, and from history we know what happened. My relative defiantly believed yes your second question - is that if the Russian people were armed, the Nazi invasion would have been slowed and possibly stalled before making it to Stalingrad. It makes chaos for any invading army. Firearms and ammo was the #1 concern for the people on the Hawaiian Islands in 1942. Tojo once said to Hitler that he looked forward to being together soon in The White House. Hitler replied saying that he was afraid of all the guns in America. @ I never said thoes specific brands of guns are used at the olymics. They tend to use more expensive equipment their. But for practical shooting, or 3 gun competitions. AKs and ARs are just semi-auto rifles. And see wide use in those types of competitions. Even in the UK we have specific competitions for service rifles. Lots of fun.

I've lived in rual areas where it could take 45 minutes to an hour for a sheriff to arrive. The locals there have infact come to the aid of sheriff's officers that may of had to wait that long for back up to arrive. While living in that particular area, I took a certified course through a local college to obtain certification as a reserve peace officer with firearms. Sounds like you have a huge crime problem and under funded policing more than anything if it takes that long for your police to arrive and receive the resources they need to deal with an issue. I have always been repulsed by the American addiction to weapons. But I have to say that the automatic weapon that the bloke bought in this report looks absolutely gorgeous. You could see that he had already developed a close relationship to the thing, almost as if it was a reliable and loyal guard dog. 1-There is no addiction to weapons. We live in a country that values defending our own property as opposed to relying on the state to do it for us. Because after all, do you really own something if it can be so easily taken away? 2-That is not an automatic weapon, it is semi-auto, by which it will fire once for every trigger pull. Automatic weapons can be obtained in the US, but they must be made before 1986 and a long licensing process must be undertaken to own it. 3-Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are rights that we are all responsible for defending.

Before these laws passed, the critics all said it would be like the wild west, with shootouts in the streets if everyone was armed in public, but just the opposite happened, crime dropped like a rock. It worked because dead criminals don't re offend and would be criminals have the fear of God instilled in them when surrounded by armed people. Many states have seen the low crime statistics of public carry states like mine and are now copying the laws. There's alot of entertaining videos on YT under the search words "CCW in action" that shows criminals being shot by citizens in public carry states. When states first enact these laws, I noticed the number of gun deaths spike real high, I assume due to the criminals being cleansed from the gene pool, and then they suddenly drop real low. Anyway, I hope you guys can eventually get enough pro gun lawmakers elected and get your laws changed.

More guns = less murders and the statistics prove this. Guns are used for self defense 2 million times per year and if people didn't have those guns, we'd have alot of dead people. Take the murder rates in the 20 years before and average them, then do the same for the 20 years after 1997 and you'll see the murder rate is 18% higher. My family in Russia believed then, and still today, that our 2nd Amendment is the most incredible freedom to have. Stalin like Hitler, disarmed their people from firearms so their tyranny could prevail on their own people, and from history we know what happened. My relative defiantly believed yes your second question - is that if the Russian people were armed, the Nazi invasion would have been slowed and possibly stalled before making it to Stalingrad. It makes chaos for any invading army. Firearms and ammo was the #1 concern for the people on the Hawaiian Islands in 1942. Tojo once said to Hitler that he looked forward to being together soon in The White House. Hitler replied saying that he was afraid of all the guns in America. My relatives in Russia never imagined being invaded and the thought was impossible - it happened. But for practical shooting, or 3 gun competitions. AKs and ARs are just semi-auto rifles. And see wide use in those types of competitions.

I've lived in rual areas where it could take 45 minutes to an hour for a sheriff to arrive. The locals there have infact come to the aid of sheriff's officers that may of had to wait that long for back up to arrive. While living in that particular area, I took a certified course through a local college to obtain certification as a reserve peace officer with firearms.

Sounds like you have a huge crime problem and under funded policing more than anything if it takes that long for your police to arrive and receive the resources they need to deal with an issue.

Nevertheless, this law when wrote considering the right of USA Government through the Congress to handle militias and the citizen protect his/herself and if necessary fight against the state, if and only if the state manaces him/her or be invoked by state in cases of invasion. The backdrop of this Ammendment is the fact that the USA government granted this right in a period where the institutions were not ready for providing state protection and the USA could be threatened by boarder conflicts and domestic affairs.
you know what the sad thing about all of this will be? the fact that most people who lose there jobs, losing the stability they created for themselves that was taken away by no fault of there own. who probably has that "home defense" pistol, is NOT likely going to turn to crime..... ow no, their more likely going to turn that gun on themselves because of manic depression, as their world falling to pieces and the lack of control that they have of it all.

I have always been repulsed by the American addiction to weapons. But I have to say that the automatic weapon that the bloke bought in this report looks absolutely gorgeous. You could see that he had already developed a close relationship to the thing, almost as if it was a reliable and loyal guard dog. 1-There is no addiction to weapons. We live in a country that values defending our own property as opposed to relying on the state to do it for us. Because after all, do you really own something if it can be so easily taken away?
2-That is not an automatic weapon, it is semi-auto, by which it will fire once for every trigger pull. Automatic weapons can be obtained in the US, but they must be made before 1986 and a long licensing process must be undertaken to own it.
3-Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are rights that we are all responsible for defending.
It’s not “addiction”. You see in the United States this is codified in our founding document. In the original sense ALL gun control is what we consider unconstitutional. We own guns and we don’t like being told what to do. We view gun control as tyranny.
