Cas this video is hilarious! All so real and we can relate with it all! I don't know what my fav's would be.... there are so many!... kicking the dishwasher, getting real with the toilet, clutter baskets galore, etc., etc. Priceless!
Thank you for the 5 minute routine you shared a while back. I have been mostly bedridden for 4 years, and I have a long way to go before I can dare let anyone enter my downsized space. When I focus on "just 5 minutes," I accomplish something and lie back down to recover from the exertion. I see progress--minimal, but tiny steps will still take me toward a goal. Watching the speed of this video was exhausting. I will now allow recovery time and then get up to tackle another small area for 5 minutes.
@@Clutterbug you are truly amazing. As a fellow adhder, with 3 kids, you’ve inspired me to see the positives of having it and that it can be portrayed as a super power. I honestly don’t know how I could’ve gotten through my mess of a home (and brain) without you and your content. 💕
I've always considered myself to be a pretty calm person unless- spiders. The end here with your driver's anxiety, though, is exactly how my adult children describe me. One time when the kids were younger, I was lying on the floor watching a movie with my teen sons and the eldest said, "Mom..." I responded with "What?' and just as I turned my head and my lips closed, a spider ran across my mouth. I felt my over-the-top response was perfectly reasonable and as aI was resisting the urge to strip all of my clothes off right there, I was also shouting, "Why didn't you tell ?!" His calm reply was, "Because...that." Meaning, of course, my perfectly reasonable response to the circumstance, lol. So I totally understand your driving anxiety. Very enjoyable and motivational video, as always, thanks!
Driving is the worst! I'm a pretty terrible passenger, too. When my kids were younger they politely suggested that I put a bag over my head so I wouldn't freak out about every other car on the road 🤣
My husband is like u too that's why I never ever drive. He did the same to my sons but I am always around to tell him to stop but no one was there to stop him when I drive.
Driving anxiety! I hear you. When I turned 70 I stopped driving. I'm able to get rides with family, friends, etc. any time I need to. But actually I'm such a homebody there's no where I want to go and nothing I want to do that involves driving. Don't miss it at all! Merry Christmas, Cas!
I have driving anxiety too, but it wasn’t always the case. It’s only been a few years (I’ve been driving for over 30 years now). Actually there is so much road age nowadays, and so many people driving either intoxicated or without a license that I just don’t trust other drivers anymore 🤷🏻♀️
Always love you videos. Best thing for your toilet seat...get a quick release seat. No screw driver required to take the seat off to clean under. You'll get your 6 minute clean back. 😉 Happy Holidays and thank you for always brightening my day. 🫶
Driving anxiety is a huge part of me. I had a brain injury several years ago and have problems remembering things- plus I have ADHD also. I taught 2 daughters to drive and am starting to teach my youngest. I feel your pain. 😂
😂🤣😆😂🤣 The end story, I'm lierally laughing out loud, and because Im listening with my earbuds, my family is looking at me like I'm crazy-pants (my new fav term I lifted from you, Cas)!!! So funny, thanks for sharing.
Yes! Amen to the car anxiety! I have it so bad my husband refuses to let me drive anymore. I am a bit agoraphobic in that I will only drive by myself on specific routes and never leave my city unless someone else drives. I really need to look into defensive driving courses or therapy or something 😅
I have anxiety too. For me it's riding in a car. Especially on a highway or in traffic. Thankfully my husband is very patient and understanding and he drives extra carefully when I'm with him. p.s. Loved your video.
Looking through a lens has merit. Try looking in the lens behind you, from an iPad. 😅 You can see things even more while in reverse image. I’m teaching my adult son to drive but we went from a mini van to a big SUV. 😬It ain’t easy but stay in the wilderness for a while! Especially when the corn stalks are cut down so you can see oncoming traffic. Including horse and buggy drivers and bicycles.😁 Glad you have a hubby to take over. I was always a rad racer like my dad but the diamond lane in Florida and NYC driving is a bit knuckle clenching. “Grease the fenders, I’m coming through!”😅 I drive to my brothers wedding in two hours, instead of 4. 🤪
This is my favorite video yet!! Your humor and authenticity is a breath of fresh air! It was so funny that you said you think you are passing your anxiety onto your daughter, because, in that very moment I was romanticizing the thought of us being “besties” but then thinking “🤔 I wonder if her energy would recharge me or drain me” 😂😂😂
I was speed cleaning along with you today, Cas - thanks for the motivation! I also have driving anxiety and moved to NYC so I don't need to drive as often 😆
Send that adorable daughter to driving school! I sent my daughter not fighting arguing. My grandson went a year ago, so easy. The toilet, I knew a guy in high school his mother made the boys and men who visited her house to get on their knees to use the toilet. No mess! Great video Cass! You made me laugh!
Huh … I’ve had extreme driving anxiety ever since I learned to drive AND I have ADHD. I never would have thought they were related (well, I have extreme anxiety/panic disorder as it is, so it’s not just driving for me, it’s literally EVERYTHING, so maybe my anxiety in general could be going hand-in-hand with ADHD). But weirdly enough, the one thing that calms me and makes me feel okay and like I can handle anything life throws at me is going for long drives along country roads while listening to my favorite chill playlist. I LOVE THAT! But here’s the thing … it only works when there’s no one behind me. As soon as a car is behind me, I start to stress and panic. Fortunately, the roads I go on regularly are so familiar to me now, I know tons of spots where I can pull over and let cars go past. I also know which days have the least traffic (on Sundays, I see almost no other cars, even though the country roads I drive on all have a lot of homes along them and also have tons of vineyards with wine tasting rooms). Anyway, I empathize and am glad I don’t have to teach anyone to drive.
Always funny, enjoyable with lots of good tips as I am also a lazy housewife. I have now scaled down drastically and it is bliss having such a small space to keep tidy and clean. I love driving but then I am not ADHD so that figures. Mostly I am a pretty laid back, calm person, but I do have my moments.I have a theory that every person has a living space ideal, where they just bloom, for me this much smaller space is wonderful and I cannot remember when I have been this happy in a living space. It is tiny, but has a lovely big, half enclosed balcony and then a huge wooden deck that looks out on the forest of a golf course. I feel like Jane in the jungle, so green and peaceful
Haha! I have driving anxiety, too. I thought we were going to perish while trying to teach my younger, anxiety ridden child. I ended up buying a driver’s training course for her. It was well worth the expense and we both were better for it. One of the best cleaning products was the foaming glass cleaner I purchased after you mentioned it several months ago. It’s awesome! Next up…a tidy tote. I’ve avoided it because I have little storage areas. 😘
Yep, driving makes me anxious too - specifically wondering if I’ll be able to find a space in my road to park, without having to parallel park. I also drive to music, but not too loud, in case I hit a pedestrian
I just watched the episode of Parenthood where the mom is teaching her daughter to drive and the same thing occurs. 😆 I coped out with my son and just got CMA to teach him. Have a wonderful holiday time Cas. You are the best! ❤
I do have high levels of driving anxiety and avoid driving for the most part unless it's in my little bubble of I know where I am going. I listen to audio books or talk on the phone (hands free) to help keep me calm. I also have ADHD, curious if that is a factor in my driving phobia.
I wish I could double like for that "Thrift Shop" reference, it's one of the songs I bump as I drive, so I'm not cussing everybody out🤭🤣🤣 Great tips, thank you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year❤️🙏🏾
I have ADHD too and I agree that driving is super stressful! I'm great being a passenger because I will just look around at everything and zone out and in no time, we're at our destination. But, if I'm driving, I have to force myself to focus on the road or I'm afraid I'll get us into an accident (thankfully I've gone 40 years without one, but there's been far too many near misses).
It's great to hear Cas not being concerned about the environment! It's something that annoys me and I think we are being conned with such nonsense. Great video.
Great video…so fun!! I never used to have driving anxiety until one year ago when a ragey young couple followed me, accused me of hitting them (which I did not), grabbed my hair, pinned me against the car window, damaged my ear, kicked my back door three times, and is currently suing MY insurance for personal injury. That takes a lot to get over. Be careful out there…a certain amount of driving anxiety is healthy these days!
I have to say that the best cleaning trick I have learned is to Declutter. I have had friends call or text that they would like to stop by...even with only 10 or 15 my house is company ready...and that is absolutely because I have decluttered and kept on top of it...and reset my house every Sunday.
And I find myself just cleaning out the fridge the day before trash day, just tidying up the bathroom. Just get the old, expired stuff out, just go ahead and get the old makeup gone. And before, I was so into not wasting stuff that it had gone too far in the other direction. Yes, we need to think about what we buy, if not for others just in even to think about for ourselves. Maybe we buy a new thing before the super-old thing is totally worn out, so we are not in a panic when the old-old car has had its last days, or whatever it is. I don't always agree with Cas, in that I'd like it if she recycled more, I'd like it if she bought better quality things to not reward those who make junk. But, but. The 30 day challenge was amazing; it motivated me to bring the old fitness books to the gym and the others to the used book stores; it motivated me to get rid of the hand sanitizer bought in April of 2020 that I really didn't use; it even motivated me to pare down collections of nice pottery, but just too much for the space that I have (and I thank the Container Concept, which I learned this year, for making me understand what "enough" is). And so it is Christmas, and and a Happy New Year, and I hope its is a good one, with all of good cheer. Thank you Cas, for an amazing last year.
Gurl… I’ve been grinding my teeth night & day for over 60 years. However, a major accomplishment for me was driving an 18-wheeler in a city that is basically a 24 hour traffic jam, & even over insanely steep bridges. My secret; just kept telling myself the opposite of what my brain was telling me. It’s a brain trick for a phobias. If your brain is telling you something is awful, bad, or gross… tell yourself, repeatedly (out loud if you have to) it’s nice/pleasant/exciting/fun.
Help! I have a craft space which takes up half the room Make that 3/4 of the room,(computer/craft/sewing/office room) and I CANNOT keep it tidy! I am the sort of person who LOVES to have many things on the go at once, so there's papers/projects/sewing,mending/craft tools/2 rubbish bins, 2 sets of office trays with my craft papers, 2 tidy boxes, and I STILL cannot keep it looking organised. I have 2 tall drawer sets, 2 short drawer sets, HELP!!!! I am going to need a week to tidy and I don't have a spare week anywhere...The rest of my house is a breeze (except the wrapped presents in the spare room) Would LOVE a video that covers being able to tidy ONE small trouble pile at a time :) Pleeeeeeease? FOcus on CRAFT/Hobbies.. I LOVE your humour, cracks me up
I have extreme driving anxiety. It's awful, I've worked really hard on it this year. I have a upcoming middle schooler and I don't want want my kids to be afraid like I was taught to be. I do think the adhd also adds to it. I struggle with how long things actually take. I make a short list/plan even for little trips. Set timmers for how long everything takes. I always do grocery pick ups. So my brain sees oh this only takes 10 minutes and not hours. I can't do hours of driving plus take hours at the grocery store and hours to get back. I also reward myself too and it doesn't have to cost. I get out and stretch at the park for a few minutes or pick up a book from the library or sit in the library for a minute and enjoy the calm and look at a magazine. It's a constant work in progress but I'm getting out and doing it.
Once, when my mom was teaching me to drive, she hollered, "Push the stop, push the stop!" I guess she forgot the word brake? We laughed and laughed about that for years. Merry Christmas!
I heard a hint for the stainless steel refrigerator and that is to put a little bit jet. Dry, on a microfiber cloth and wipe the stainless steel refrigerator and it comes beautiful, shiny spot free
I like the handy tote and 1 cleaner tip!! All your tips are great but those caught my ear (I have granite and I was using windex real quick but not sure if the brand I have has ammonia (I just call it windex just like we call tissues “Kleenex”- at least people around me!
Fun video and good tips! I don't think the driving anxiety is an ADHD thing; I'm a confident driver despite my ADHD 😊 My tip would be that controlling the vehicle is separate from knowing the rules of traffic, and that's separate from situational awareness. Master the first two, and you can focus on observing the ever-changing situation and other road users when you're driving places.
Can we take a minute and appreciate all the hard work Cas puts into these videos?! I love how real and genuine she is.
Totally agree!!
Her video production lady does a great job. She hired the right person.
Yes, that's why i'm watching her for years.
And how cute is she in that apron? ☺️
Aw thanks!

That brown spot in your toilet was actually a spot on MY screen!!
😂 When I first read your comment I was like...How BIG was a brown spot in my toilet that someone could see it in the video?! 😬💀
😂❤@@Clutterbug
Love this video. My mom cleaned but never taught me to clean so i always appreciate videos that include HOW in addition to what.
Same here! Thanks, Cas! ❤❤❤
So glad it was helpful!

Me Cas!! Riddled with anxiety and trying to teach my kid to drive too! Glad to hear it’s not just me!
The “or never” comment about emptying the clutter basket 😂 the moonwalk 😅😅 oh my gosh, thank you for the laughs and great tips.

I love how you’re wearing the medical gloves, Cas!! You’re one of us now 😊
I literally have a pair in every coat, all my cargo pants - I find them in the washing machine all the time - It's a problem.
I thank you so much for this video; I’m having company and I want to do the same thing you’re doing. Thank you for the shortcuts 🎄💚❤️🎄

Hi cas love the video great one you have me laughing thank you for sharing with us
You’re welcome!
I nearly spit out my drink when Cas said she thinks someone in her family needs to see a doctor. LOL! Love your videos Cas and Emily!!!
🤭
My husband will also be teaching our kids to drive, extreem driving anxiety, despite driving almost every day
Oh - I feel you! 😅
"Take that tick tock ASMSMR" 😂😂😂😂

I LOVE your humour, cracks me up
Hi Cas. What kind of car do you have that is self-driving? I want one for Christmas!
And that's WHY we subscribed... to get the real you! Love it.
Anxiety in the car? Um, YES! It's "crazy pants" out there. 😅
❤
I never thought a robot vacuum would work for me. I swear, best investment I’ve made. Scheduled sweeps every other day. Major time savers.
💯 looooove my robot vacuum !
Don’t forget to wear a face mask when you clean the toilet areas to protect yourself from harmful chemical fumes. Turn on the ceiling fan too.
Always keeping it real 😅
Once, when my mom was teaching me to drive, she hollered, "Push the stop, push the stop!" I guess she forgot the word brake? We laughed and laughed about that for years. Merry Christmas!
BAHAHAHA!!!! How funny! 😅
I heard a hint for the stainless steel refrigerator and that is to put a little bit jet. Dry, on a microfiber cloth and wipe the stainless steel refrigerator and it comes beautiful, shiny spot free
😂😂😂 best video ever.
Glad you think so!
