He really does have good reason to be scared, and run from MTV now.

I've always loved this clip! MTV could never do anything this witty now. No one would get it. People are so dumb now!

Did the teenagers watching MTV in 1993 really get it?

I take it he's running from the new MTV not the old one.
I never watched MTV when I was younger (besides I grew up in the 90's and hear that's where it started going downhill) but being in college now and with roomates who for whatever reason LIKE it even now and with a sister who also likes modern things and so-bad-it's-good things, I'm stuck watching it at times whether there or at home. I'd much rather watch M or alot of the older things. Back then people had brains and artistic ideas.

MTV understood that showing this wouldn't bring our children back.

What is that "MTV" they show nowadays! Shows that have nothing to do with MUSIC TELEVISION! RUN!

Back when Mtv actually was MUSIC television, Mtv hasn't been good in over a decade.

I doubt most viewers would get it back then. I only heard about M a little while ago.

Wahahah! I noticed the trademark whistling from "M", peter lorre's scene where he was confronted by the people was the inarguably one of the best performances of all time... BEAUTIFUL!

I stopped watching MTV back in the 80s, so I've never seen this. Funny, thanks for posting! Would make a good avatar.

Ahhh... the days when I was young, and MTV was low-budget and artsy.

@jarxor Yes, we must all join together to punish Mtv for what its done to our children.

I think it would take more than a bit of humor to laugh at being "hijacked" by MTV.

But they did it anyway. That's called the 1% Rule. If 1% of your audience will understand a joke, you go for it.
