Lost my dad last december, this is the song i listened to most during all that stuff. Kinda poetic this is the song this week. As you might guess from my profile pic, this is my fav album of all time. As much as i like the later stuff, especially Sons of Winter and Stars, this is still without equal.

My condolences for the whole family. Music has a healing effect, especially music like Wintersun. I broke up with my girlfriend and Jari's music helped me through a lot of negative emotions.
So sorry for your loss guys. I'm glad you have Wintersun there to comfort you through the tough times. They have helped me so much over the years too. By the way, if you didn't know, Loneliness is partly about Jari losing his dad in autumn last year.

This song is simply amazing and gives diversity and flavor to the album. When I listened this album the first time I think it was this song that completely convinced me that this album is especially meticulously crafted with such passion and love that I haven't heard ever before. Next is Starchild, get prepared for very intense epicness and an intricate and diverse journey of what is Jari's personal favorite song of his :)

I'm not wishing pain killers that numb your pain - not to hide from the pain - but such healing that help you to take the pain as a new part of your life - help you face life with open mind and soul. So you're not too surprised - or at least frightened - if the help comes also from an unexpected address.

I feel sorry for your loss guys, losing loved ones is hard..but Wintersun helps, I know when I discovered them I was in the biggest shit in my life but Wintersun helped me to overcome.

Watching his alien like fingers tear up this solo was a hell of an experience!

They're a mix of melodic death and doom metal so it should be right up your alley.

By the way, Wintersun - The Forest Seasons was #1 in the official Finnish charts on it's release.
Wintersun helped me in my dark days as well. Jari really knows how to get your bad emotions form deepest depths of your heart, put it on the outside and push them away. Saw them two times live already, waiting for third :)
I'm sorry for your loss. WS music helped me a lot when I lost my parents as well, 4 months apart.. I just want to remind you that there is an unreleased song, the Way of the Fire, that isn't in any album. Be sure to check that out as well (fast song with amazing guitarwork) A multicam video shot in Hollywood has the best quality can be found in UA-cam. Keep up the good work. Kr, a Finn.

Hope you feel better guys! Wintersun music can definitely help. Next week - Starchild. You're gonna love that one. Hope you go with the Tuska 2013 version (there's one with video recording from audience and another one without any video, but the audio is excellent, mixed by Jari, which is most important).

It really has the best possible audio quality, i've never heard any better live recordings.
Many years ago music was also a big help for me when my grandfather died. It was with Candlemass, one of my all-time favorite bands, specially the song "Solitude" (which I totally recommend for reaction).

I see a lot of Powermetal shown on this channel, I was wondering of you'd like the band Beast in Black.
they've released about 3 music videos at the moment:
- Beast in Black (title track with Lyrics video)
- Blind and Frozen (more of a music video with actors and stuff)
- Born again (Close up singing by Yannis + Lyrics video)
They've released their first album not so long ago (November the 3rd).
It all sounds really powerful and melodic, I definitely recommend it.
Sorry for your loss, but looks like you've got at least found the perfect song to react to. "Death and the Healing" is one of my favourit Wintersun Songs and clearly one of my Top10 Metal "Ballads" ever.

This is peak Melodic Death Metal.
Also after this album, you absolutely should react to live performance of their unreleased song "The Way of the Fire" since most likely the studio version won't be released until early 2020's so there's still a lot of waiting. I urge you to react to it because it's so incredible that even though it's a live recording, it's still highly enjoyable and in my opinion the best Wintersun song and has a guitar solo that is completely out of this universe. Ensiferum yes. I've listened through Immemorial couple of times and honestly in my opinion it doesn't come very close to Wintersun. I need to listen it more because the previous listening sessions didn't leave strong impression to me yet.
I must say that I really enjoy the melodies of Immemorial. It's just a pity that it has not the best recording quality so I'm hoping that it will be kind of remastered in the next Crowdfunding campaign. At least Jari has done it with Sadness and Hate.

Hi i just want to say @apreacts this band helped really me when i lost my grandmother specialy this song and at the time i was really hard bullied at school just nice to know someone other has find help too this band music too i am always saying thath music heals people when you find right one and couple year later my grandfather died then i listen band named mokoma and album 180 astetta i would like to see if you like make one reaction video of their music i have couple song you could do punamultaa, virsi no5, or mutta minulta puuttuisi rakkaus okey i know that they sing in finland language but perhaps you could use some translator to know what they sing - silalka

Insomnium you know already, I'm 120% sure you would love the other 2 as well \m/ Great idea to use this song's intro as ringtone by the way! Sorry for Your loss guys... it feels like shit every time it hits. I don't know have anyone suggested Sentenced earlier, but i think their "We are but falling leaves" is the one You guys should listen next. I have listened this song every time when some of my nearest is passed away. Sentenced is (or rather it was) also from Finland. The band buried couple years ago, but it was one of the biggest names in Finland. Unfortunately they never got name abroad. In my opinion Sentenced is the best way to get familiar with finnish melancholy. Oh, hope to see You guys in the Tuska festival 2018 at Helsinki next summer! ;)

This is my favorite from their self-titled album. Starchild is the second favorite. Other songs don't hit that hard for me due to relatively small sound that Time I and The Forest Seasons have. Good album anyways =) I have a hint for you to hold for upcoming Sundays. Two bands that have majestical long songs. The first one you had one already from and it really deserves the place for Sundays as they have the only composer who's better than Jari Mäenpää. Of course I'm speaking about Nightwish but the second comes from the same genre with a bit different outcome and I think I mentioned it in some other comment as well and they are the "Flying Dutchman": Epica. I really recommend ;)

I don't care about the typos. But placing Nightwish higher than Wintersun when comparing songwriting is heresy.
That's easy. Nightwish does the best in my ears. Wintersun is still one of my favorites doing almost the same level. Their technical skills are outstanding. But Tuomas makes still better songs in Nightwish. Jari is still a tough competitor.
It might fit your taste. But objectively speaking, Nightwish is pretty shallow when compared to Wintersun - and I don't mean that as an insult, but from a musical standpoint. Layering, key changes, tempo changes. I respect Nightwish for what they are, but great musicianship is not what they offer.
