While picking up some survival/camping items, I happened upon the edited version of your boil test video on the Stanley Cook Set Amazon page, and was curious what stove you were using. I eventually found this here on UA-cam, which is great because then I could see the whole video and more importantly you have provided links to the gear itself. The Solo Stove Lite seems to be just the sort of "mini portable fire pit"-type of stove I was looking for to put in my Car's emergency kit. I wouldn't want to store propane, kerosene, or any sort of other fuel in my car, but I feel certain I will always be able to find sticks, leaves, etc. to burn, so this is perfect. Thanks!
The video itself - I really like that your demo is all quite simple. There's just your clear, well-recorded voice and the actual sounds of the event. No loud music, no flashy lights, or crazy edits. I feel the point is to see the product and that's what you've done. No offense but It didn't seem you were particularly familiar with any of the products. These seem like pretty simple/self-defining objects, so maybe it wasn't necessary, but I think the "next level" of your video might have included pre-researched info, pros-and-cons lists, suggested usage, cleaning/storage suggestions, etc. I don't mean to be overtly critical, just offering suggestion for some icing on the yummy cake of a video. I did like the simple in-situ observations you made.
Anyway, good stuff. I've LIKED and SUBSCRIBED, and will check out your other vids when I get more time. I've put the stove and cook set in my shopping cart from your links, so hopefully you'll get credit. Live long and prosper!

One of the best (and longest) comment I received so far on UA-cam! Thanks a lot for your feedback. I'm grateful to have a subscriber like you.
I didn't spend too much time on fancy editing / lighting because I'm not a fully time "UA-camr", LOL! It was recorded on a Saturday morning, thought I could show how fast it boils :)
Just curious, which part of the video that gave you the impression that I'm not "particularly familiar" with any of the products?
I didn't spend too much time on "secondary burn" stuff like that because it seems redundant as there are too many videos like that. I think you may be interested in the other two larger stoves I reviewed, with some steak cooking involved:

@@ToolsElectroDIY all the better that you aren't a FT UA-camr, then. Heh. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy all sorts of material on YT, but I often watch videos using headphones, and one of my biggest pet peeves are those where the presenter is talking and their voice is recorded at "level 4", so my system volume is set to a medium-high level to hear them clearly, and then the video will (often without warning) drop in some music, sound bite, or voice over recorded at "level 11" and blast out my ears. I friggin' hate that. Your one music cue at the beginning was very subtle, and the volume/quality differences between your outdoor diegetic voice vs your "studio" voiceover was negligible. Quite pleasing.
Regarding what I took as unfamiliarity: First, just after the 3min-mark in the video, the way you talked about letting the fire go low/not using the right amount of wood, sounded like someone who'd not used this stove before. Second, I had heard what my mind interpreted as a "questioning" or "surprised" tone in your voice throughout. After re-watching this video this morning, and watching the two videos you linked, I now realize it's just part of your natural speaking manner: Your voice goes up in pitch at the end of some sentences. I was unused to this and misinterpreted what it meant. My bad. heh.
      Thanks again for your video.

@@OrdinarilyBob Understood! LOL that "not using the right amount of wood" part just made the review more authentic from a new user's perspective. It's not a sponsored video. I used compact stoves like this one, even if I"m experienced, it's still hard to control the amount of wood as you need to keep on feeding the fire and it depends on the quality of the wood.
As for the tone, I'm not a native English speaker so it could be quite different unless someone points out I will never know, haha! By the way I also have the larger "campfire" version. I plan to make a size comparison video later.

Next time have your fuel below the secondary burn holes to have a cleaner burn. Other than that great video.

Great video, it gave me a good idea of the little Solo Stove Lite.
I have the same Stanley cup and I was told by my autistic friend "Dave Canterbury says if you do not clean the cup it will boil faster". Wondering if that is true, only one way to find out.

It's true if you don't clean it off it will heat faster do to the fact that the heat is reflected you can wipe the soot dust off just do not remove the carbonized soot all the way back to shiny and it will heat up faster,I have a Stanley two cup I have use everyday (multiple times a day) and it's a great product and the solo stoves are a great addition if you want a little bigger stove you can use the Mesa with the cooking ring for the Titan and it works amazing
