- Sometimes the most valuable art in Jackson Hole can't be found in Jackson Hole Art Galleries, but in small hot spots like Pearl Street Bagels, where I discovered the Gayotaku Prints of Jackson Hole Artist, Barbara Cross (originally from Pennsylvania).
Barbara Cross, watercolor artist, began selling her art about 3 years ago, which has culminated in the current art show in 2023 at King Sushi, a charming Japanese style eatery in a log cabin setting. If you'r looking for where to eat in Jackson Hole, you might want to sit at a quiet, reservation only table at King Sushi, under one of Cross's handmade prints that honor a tradition from the 1800s that was used to record fishermens' prized catches on rice paper. 'Midnight Lunch' is the name of the 2023 art show currently on display.
The watercolor art of Barbara Cross can also be found in the illustrated children's book, "The Mysterious Platypus," a story that relates the peculiar characteristics of the duck-billed platypus to more commonly known animals.
