The "Medieval" Dark Ages refers to our lack of contemporary sources from that time. So there is little information about that time.

I think Lion getting the Emperor's shield is very much explained in 'Son of the forest' as a reflection of the character's own development.
[maybe SPOILERS down below]
In coming to terms with what happened on Caliban he learns how to temper his own irascibility and strong-headedness and take more into account the perspective and needs of the people around him, reaffirming his own view of himself as a 'protector' rather than an 'aggressor' in the process. The shield is a symbol for a more mature and wiser Lion, in direct opposition to his past self (who would have fought Guilliman for the right to have the flaming sword, I'm sure).
As for the rest of Big E's wargear... They could give Dorn (if/when they bring him back) his Lightning Claw to replace his missing hand.

Pretty sure the idea of Clonegrim being the real one is running with the idea that the demon that possessed original Fulgrim tricked everyone and Fulgrim’s soul was left unattached until Clonegrim. Supposedly all the Ferrus clones were good because his soul kept hopping into the new body, and clone Horus was off because at the time the lore was his soul was obliterated.

RG has the Emperor's sword because he is the Regent, not so much for story reasons. The sword is the symbol of state sanctioned violence, and the holder of the sword is authorised to use violence, against external enemies in war and for justice in the case of the people in the Imperium. Guilliman is the only one who can have the sword.

When you put it that way it makes a lot of sense. Still doesn't make up for the three contradicting stories for how Guilliman got it in the first place, but I do like it being symbolic.

In regards to the Old Ones creating the Tyranids-if the nids come from a different galaxy, could they have been a failed experiment that the Old Ones abandoned?

The theory that Angron wasn't Khorne first pick, is more just throwing shade on Angron as the complete failure he is. He was the only Primearch that didn't conquered his planet.
So him being Khorne's fourth pick, behind Sang, Russ and Dorn. Is something just to have a good laugh at Angron.

5:12 - That's not 'us.' It's just a reflection of Big E's subconscious as he performs an Emperor-level Smite. If it were us, there'd be lots of bones mentioned, too.
11:42 - This sounds like someone's just misremembering the Yarrick theory. For Yarrick, I'd believe it, but the Emperor is a stretch.
32:25 - I'm pretty sure this was confirmed rather definitively in Dark Imperium when it was hinted that Cawl had created Primaris with Traitor AND Lost Legion gene stock. As for the primarchs, Malcadore's chair pretty much puts that thought to rest.
47:44 - The Tau are the COVEN'S backup plan, not the Emperor's.
52:40 - Less a theory than a quibbling over definitions. We know for a fact from Legion that Alpharius swallowed the Coven's Kool-aid wholeheartedly, but Omegon never believed that the destruction of humanity was as necessary as the Coven did. This can broadly be interpreted as Alpharius being a traitor and Omegon being loyal, but as with anything Alpha Legion, it's a complex mesh of layers.
