If he's aware that the network is also in the midst of a lawsuit against this employee (and it would be hard to see that he wouldn't be), he could have simply admonished the employee for not being more forthcoming with this information.
Has Fox said anything about appealing this sanction (saying they were unaware of the existence of the recording until the woman came forward)?

What is truly sad, is the Republican base will not care. Never try to convince a schizophrenic their delusions aren't real.
In my early 20s i battled schizophrenia. In short, I believed there were conspiracies against me, things were being set up by outside forces for my benefit/detriment. You know what it took for me to realize I was delusional? 9/11. In the aftermath of that day I noticed I was connecting those events to my own life, and trying to read into it the message that was being sent to me. It made me realize the erroneous way my brain was processing information. Even after counseling it took several months to be comfortable around people again, and several YEARS to feel 100% free from the affliction.
My point is that schizophrenic people are willing to believe in anything, and bend anything to hear what they want to hear, and it can take a MASSIVE event to shake them out of it. If youre dealing with a delusional person there isnt much you can do except get professional counseling and prescription meds for them, convincing them to go or take them however, is a whole other problem. Recovery really has to come from within. If anyone reading this suspects that they might have mental health issues, PLEASE seek professional help.

In fact, there's a delusional disorder (DSM-5: 297.1; F22 in the ICD-11) and many people who are Bipolar and/or Borderline or Narcissistic, which the first two are very comorbid (dual-diagnosis) have serious delusions that can cause them and other people real harm in a number of ways.

And would it even really matter?
