I like to see it as by freeing the characters and getting the emeralds, Xeno’s having a total mental breakdown so large the game is breaking all around them and this is the final battle, BF and GF are on they’re way out.
I think of it as Tails, Knuckles, and Eggman know they can’t escape but acknowledge Xeno can’t keep living and that the only solution is to destroy the game.

However it's absolutely their call whether they want people accessing the FLP as "Decision Process" is legally protected.
