    As a retired Firefighter/EMS First Responder with over 26yrs service, your idea to donate to your local FD is fantastic. I'm assuming that since you're in a rural area, the FD is all volunteer. Good for you!!

    I'm sure the fire department will like either one.
    But speaking as a old Volunteer myself they would probably get more use out of the side by side by using it for fairs etc as a mini rescue and a off road rescue or mount a water tank and small pump in back for grass and wild fires that are hard to get to with fire truck. Plus mount a extra tank in a pull trailer far hay fires etc on farms that are hard to get in and out of field gates with fire trucks.

    Hey brother those side by sides have reverse chains and break when pulling In Reverse it’s always best to pull driving forward and use park when using the winch I’ve seen so many people hooked up to someone with the winch pulling someone while in reverse cause the winch is pulling them to the stuck bike and they break there reverse chain, and trust me I see it a lot going to the offroad park up the road from me

    • @great0789
      @great0789 4 роки тому +2

      I was coming down here to make the same comment essentially! The gears in the diffs on all vehicles are made to be much stronger going forward compared to reverse. So... even on a normal truck/ATV/etc... always pull going forward. Otherwise there are a number of components that are weaker in reverse. Of course... that log looked pretty light. So it should be fine!

    If you were in Tennessee you could slap a tag on that puppy and drive it on the secondary roads. It's nice not to be limited to just our farm. If I need diesel I can go down the road and get it and drive it right out the tractor. They did a nice job on the redesign of those Challengers. It will be interesting to see how it holds up.

    Hey Josh, great review! That thing is sharp. Ignore the haters. That machine is built by HiSun and though people like to bash them, I have two (one is a 550 and one is 48v electric!) and love them both. Take it easy in the first 50 hours, drain the juice and enjoy. Not all tools need to be top dollar. I have some other quality brand utv’s and always seem to want to drive the Hisun. You can buy two Coleman/Hisun/Cub Cadet 550’s for the price of a Honda Pioneer. Cheers brotha!

      I agree, this is actually the first real review I've found that actually shows features, cab, etc. This will most likely be my next side by side as well, but the same configuration as the one used in the video.
      I had a Yamaha Rhino and the rear differential was always locked on it which made yard/garden chores a pain as it would tear up the lawn and soil in the garden trying to turn around and such. The Cub Cadet has a lot of standard features that cost thousands extra on every other brand machine out there.

      Like all of these types of machines it all depends on how you take care of it, if you drive it like an idiot and use it as a dune buggy yeah you'll be lucky to get to 150 hours without problems, but with care and common sense it'll last many years if you can find parts which I've been told is one huge disappointment the lack of parts with reports of owners having their machines stuck at dealerships for months on end waiting on parts....then again I've heard the same from other manufacturers too, so I think it really depends a lot on what parts are breaking, like my truck I had to wait 2 weeks for a part because apparently it was a part that broke all the time so nobody was able to keep them in stock....I see this probably is a common issue as well as the parts come from....you guessed it....overseas just like every other ATV/UTV brand unfortunately so you are at the mercy of the slow boat from China LOL.
      My Yamaha Rhino had 1500 hours on it when I sold it, tires were shot, doors, hood, seats, bed all rattled like crazy after about 6 months, the front differential lock didn't work 99% of the time even though according to the dash it was locked, it wasn't....hardly used it but the few times I needed it, most times it never worked, expensive repair if I wanted the dealer to fix it...only a 6 month warranty on Yamaha ATV's and UTV's....Cub Cadet has a 1 year warranty, not much better LOL.
      The standard features are what makes it very desirable for my use and the drive train 4wd system.

    • @garny3766
      @garny3766 4 роки тому +4

      Aj Lewis I’m wondering the same thing. I work on all brands of atv and utvs. The Hisuns are coming on strong but they still need refinement. I’m not sure if Hisun built this new model. But on Hisun brands
      I find the plastics and rubber to be very cheap like maybe UV inhibitors are missing from the manufacturing process. The mechanicals are not too bad. Overall welding could use some training/ practice. If Hisun did/does build this model hopefully cub held them to a higher standard. Time will tell.

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 4 роки тому +1

      @@garny3766 Its a Hisun engine. Don't worry the paint was already fading on my 2011 Rhino after only a year...reminds me of the 80's paint flaking and clearcoat issues of 80's vehicles LOL.
      Mechanicals aren't much to work on, its the cheap Chinese plastic body panels that worry me on all of these machines regardless of brand. For what you pay for them, the body panels should be much more solid than they are.

    • @williamdecamp7343
      @williamdecamp7343 4 роки тому +1

      The issue with these types of UTV’s is the CVT clutch belt drive. If you know how they work then you’ll understand the problem. Four wheels contacting the ground is much different than a single track on top of the snow. Pulling and getting stuck and you’ll soon find out. The belt is the first to go then the clutch and you’ll be constantly chasing those parts. This is the case with every brand of UTV that uses a CTV clutch system.

  • @wildbill23c
    @wildbill23c 4 роки тому +1

    Thank you for a real honest review of this machine, I have been looking at the 750 for a while now and you just made the choice that it would be the best for my use...Thanks. If I recall you cannot engage the front diff-lock without the rear diff-lock engaged...you can engage the rear diff-lock in 2WD though, but this is one huge feature that I want too, selectable diff-locks, and positive 4WD engagement which Polaris doesn't have, its 2WD until traction is lost then it engages the front, my Yamaha Rhino had selectable 4WD but the rear diff was locked all the time so trying to do chores in the yard would tear up the lawn really bad....Polaris has the Turf mode, but when you engage 4WD its only 2WD till the rear tires have a loss of traction then it'll send power out front.
    I think the fire department would find more use for the side by side, however, government agencies, fire, ems, police, military go with Polaris because of parts availability and government contracts it seems. Polaris is ok, just extremely over-priced for what you get, which is just the UTV. I like how Cub Cadet gives you about 1/2 to 3/4 of the cab from the factory with a winch, Polaris don't do that, and their machines cost just as much...most of the time more than the Cub Cadet without all the cab parts and winch....price a Polaris Ranger with the full cab, yep $20k+ OUCH!!!! Guess if it ain't your money they don't care (Government).
    The Cub Cadet can have a full cab the rear cab glass (err...plastic) is an accessory, so is the top 1/2 of the doors which I believe is also plastic windows, however, you'd get a full cab with about $1,000 or less then you can add a heater as well.
    That Cub Cadet looks much better built than the Yamaha Rhino 700 I had, hows the rattles on the Cub Cadet? My Rhino had terrible bed and door rattles as well as after about 6 months the hood would rattle like crazy.
    Now after your review, the UTV makes more sense on your property LOL, not sure what the fire department would use a ZTR mower for though, unless their department grounds is large enough to have that much lawn to mow LOL.

      @@alienation1270 I read past 99% of them because most are extremely over-exaggerated, or only about 1/4 truths they never tell you the whole story or even close to it as to why things broke, and 99% of the time it was operator error, and trying to do stuff they shouldn't be doing...why is it many of those are Polaris machines that I end up having to piece and part back together for customers though? I thought those Polaris machines were pretty tough till I started doing small engine repair, I guess maybe we work on so many because there's just so many of them out there?
      I've seen cars with less than 1000 miles on them destroyed so 150 hours on an offroad toy I can see a lot going wrong when you have idiots operating them.

    you can get a rear panel and upper doors to make it fully enclosed. man if i knew you could get that window with a wiper kit (i don't think they had it when i got my challenger 500) i would of got the 550/750 over the 500i wish i could exchange the 500 for the 550/750 you can also get heat in it, an easy way to hook up other stuff to power them the way you hook it up on mine.

    It sure looks nice. We have 4 gators and 1 Cub Cadet UTV. The Cub has more power and rides nicer. But it's always breaking down. We've rented a couple Kubota UTV's that were quite impressive.

    Here in Minnesota if you can't get a fully enclosed cab with heat it's pretty much useless. You didn't say or I missed it is it air or water cooled? And it's the good country living and food getting to you and Mrs Stoney Ridge must be a good cook . He has risen! A blessed Easter Sunday to you and the whole family. Stay safe and healthy. A shout out to Cub Cadet . I bought a brand new Cub Cadet lawn tractor in 1986 .I have rebuilt the deck a couple times and replaced the motor with a bigger Briggs recently. It has been cutting 2 acres of grass every week for years . Will be interested in the review of the zero turn . May get another one.
    Maybe cub cadet would take mine in on a trade as a example tractor to tough machines for promotion . Cub Cadet are good machines.The original company was bought out I think, so not sure what the new product is like

      If I was looking to hit the trails and use it on the property....Cub Cadet...it's alot faster and has great utility...the Kubota is great for hauling people around since it has 4 seats....I think of these 2 critters as totally different animals....The Bumblebee is way better for Mrs Stoney Ridge! Not so big and cumbersome!

    A wiper kit will absolutely RUIN a plexiglass windscreen when trying to clear mud, dust, pollen and dirt off. It’ll become sooo scratched to the point of replacement after one or two uses. Bad move. Plexiglass and mud don’t play well together.

      @@StoneyRidgeFarmer Hardcoat will hold up much better than regular plexi. If you are just clearing water it will be fine. Be careful clearing mud though. Even the hardcoat scratches easier than glass. It will work fine for clearing rain. Using the RainX for plastics will help a lot, not only with clearing rain, but keeping dust from sticking to it so bad. Don't use the regular RainX. They make a special formula just for plastics. I use it on the windshield of my Can Am Defender.
