@@Modern-Renaissance-Man I enjoy your attitude toward music. I can tell the music is important - more important than being a UA-cam star and that's why I enjoy your reviews. Keep up the good work. I do have an idea. Have you ever thought about reviews on cover bands? BTW, I'm also a pastor.
CCR has always put out some awesome tunes. All these older songs just bring me back to my childhood and hanging out in the basement with my sister's. My brother didn't like hanging out with us girls. Back in 1978 when we had a major snow storm he locked himself in our upstairs bathroom for 2 hrs just to get away from us 4 girls. Good times.
4 sisters.Your Brother must have a rough time.I dont blame him , he probably Try too survive ad best AS he could😂I grow up with 4 sisters, always wished i had a Brother.🤓
armadillotoe I agree with you i bought CCR in the 60's and 70'.. Those two songs are also my favourite. Mind you i love all the early recordings. Stay indoors, stay safe and healthy. Australia 👋
Terry Booth, Angelina Jordan does a version of this song also based on the original Screaming Jay Hawkins version. She was 9 years old when she recorded it, black and white version. Grew up with CCR, love their version but treat yourself to Angelina.
Thank you for showing this video! Seriously, what music being produced today even comes close to even touching this level of talent? It makes me happy that many young people are discovering this kind of musical talent for the very first time because of you reacting to these songs... so thank you for that! God bless... and please stay safe from the virus.
I love CCR!! I had goosebumps head to toe before he started singing. My mom had their greatest hits on a record set that I played the crap out of!! Bette Midler sang a good version in Hocus Pocus!!
I absolutely love CCR. Always have, always will. Saw John Fogerty a couple years ago with ZZ Top. He still sings his soul out, and sounds fantastic.thank you MRM for doing what you do, and doing a great job at it ☮️
CCR is my number one band all these years ,and always ,they are the greatest of all time ,love all their songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree with you about the song on a movie !!!!
Boy does this take me back, I still have my 3 day pass from Woodstock..a tie died bedspread I bought from a hippie vender and mind blowing memories. I still have CCR original vinyls.. Nice to see a clip from WS....
Hey, Ty -- just be YOU -- don't worry about what people might think about what you say. You are FINE -- just as you are. Now for this performance: I was never much of a CCR fan, but this LIVE video is very good. Too bad I had only heard them on the top 40 stations back in the day. I would have BECOME a fan.
I can tell you from experience. That bands like CCR , the Doobie Brothers and, Tree Dog Night . Could perform there music and harmonies live . Just like you heard it on the album. You can not say that about a lot of bands.
The original song, a version of which was sung by Bette Midler in the Disney movie Hocus Pocus. Always loved this song. Because of his unique singing voice, most people overlook the fact he was a great guitarist.
I missed this live!!! I love this song! Dancing by myself...😁💜💜 CCR IS ONE OF MY TOP 3 BANDS EVER!!! Your "commentary killed me! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 *if that had been no blues there wouldn't be any rock n' roll.
Ty, this was originally recorded in 1956 by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. But, yes, it was used in the movie "Hocus Pocus!" when the witches put a spell on the parents at the PTA Halloween dance.
Being there was the first time I heard CCR. I was in the back and it stopped me in my tracks. I still play CCR. Istill play CCR to get my energy up to clean house. Love them.
CCR is an old favorite of mine. They have a bunch of stone classics. I like what you said about this song having blues in it. 60’s rock usually did. Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Joe Cocker. If you haven’t listened to Jefferson Airplane, I’d suggest White Rabbit or Somebody to Love.
I've tried several times to write a comment but they were all too long 😂 Short version. 1993 I gave a man my best attempt of a lap dance to this song. I must have did pretty dang well we were married the next yr 😂😂😂
This song was released in 1959, I could only see this song played in a movie about Vietnam in the 60's through early 70's, and this and Run Through the Jungle have already been in a movie about Nam....Why you may ask? It was one of the favorite groups we listened to in the war.
This is actually the audio of the studio version dubbed over the live video footage of the Woodstock performance. This is the classic audio version, but actually the real live audio from Woodstock is amazing as well. The solo might be even better!😱
Screaming Jay Hawkins did the original. Could be about a woman who's done wrong. Or just about someone who is hypnotic in their lust for another person. Anyway...emotion. My band plays this . Always gets a reaction
This song is great, I am a big CCR fan so I am a little biased. There is a version of this song that is about twenty minutes long, at least it seems like it is, that is great also. If you've never heard the Screamin' Jay Hawkins version you need to listen to that too, it's killer. Also, that was a very good AM radio disc jockey voice you used in your reaction. The older folks know what I'm talking about.
This was the first CCR song I had ever heard. Some friends and I had been partaking of some not-quite-legal substances and had the radio on when this came on. A few weeks later I saw the album in a store and bought it, figuring that the song would probably not sound *quite* the same as it had when I first heard it, seeing as my mind wouldn't be as, shall we say, "clouded" as it was the first time. Turned out, it was even better than I remembered it. This and "Bad Moon Rising" have always been my two favorite CCR songs.
Finally an allowed CCR song Ty for getting it up mate..love CCR..and such a crisp recording for such an old video from that era..i have not asked for a request in a very long time..but feel the need for something positive in this time of Pandemics and lockdowns..could you please play "Touch" by Seal..as the words have sure kept me going as a first responder in the last few months here in Australia..starting the year with record bushfires and then followed now by this horror we are all facing..the words sure say all we need to hear right now. I appreciate your probably being invaded by requests but hope you can fit it in Huggs and Keep Strong and Keep Well My Dear Friend
This was always my favorite version of this song. I was always a CCR/John Fogerty fan. My favorite song by CCR is still "Long as I Can See the Light" wish I could figure out how to send links from a phone. Lol Laptops are sooo much easier to do that with lol.
this is not the Woodstock Live version. Someone has taken the video of them singing at Woodstock, and dubbed the studio version to it. You can tell it's not live. No crowd noise, no poor audio quality from 1969, it's dubbed. Still a great song by Credence.
@@Modern-Renaissance-Man Yeah its been a year or so and what I was really referring to the basic radio hits. I guess I should have said got around to MORE ccr. Wasnt knocking you Ty I check you out pretty much everyday and enjoy your reactions. Keep up the good work.
Bette Midler sang this song in Hocus Pocus. She and her sisters were witches in Salem, put to death, and brought back to life from a spell that was fulfilled hundreds of years later. Really enjoyable movie.
Greetings from down under once again MRM! So tell me are we going to a few extra videos from you now we're all in quarantine? I do love this Creedence track and normally put it in my karaoke rotation around Halloween ( yes, it seems Hollywood has seen to it we're addicted to it in Oz as well) Having got a feel for your sense of humor, you should check out a clip of the "Screamin' Jay Hawkins" version of this song. It's a little different. There is also a viral video of a guy called Jimmy Slonina lyp sinc-ing to Screamin' Jay's version which is creepy and bizarre! Take care and stay safe
Now that you done this song with CCR and with Nina Simone you need to do Angelina Jordan singing this song. She blows it up big time. To really blow your mind, she's only nine years old when she did this. She's now sixteen years old and making a name for herself. She's known for her one thousand voices. She takes a song and makes it hers. Like someone in another reaction to her said, there are a lot of artists in heaven thankful they are no longer in the business now that she's around.
@@sukie584 I have bought their music, same music, multiple times. Don't worry. If they require money for each play, they wouldn't sell albums, that you can listen to over and over.
That voice man.... its so iconic and spot on.
Love this version. What a showman what a band what a time to live.❤❤
Hands down...The best version of this song
This was live at Woodstock.. I spent 3 days of pure bliss there celebrating my graduation and 18th birthday.
This definitely should have been in Woodstock (the movie)!!
I love this song by CCR! John just tears it up! Great vocals! Such power! The primitive kind of way that he sings is not often done by anybody else!
Looks like you've been subbed to me for 10 months Thx!

Live with no autotune to sing for Fogarty. What a great live performance.
Not a live performance man. Just a performance clip, shot to match the studio version. What every band did, before music videos.
I love this song. I have always loved CCR. Thank you. Fogerty's voice is one of the best
All of 5 years to make a legendary band that lives on and on! John Fogerty is awesome!
That song is one of my favorites ...with...John Fogarty singing it and that wonderful guitar!
CCR came along when I was a teenager.
50 years later John is still performing and tearing it UP.
