Yes!!!! My mother relaxed my hair because it "took to long to detangle" looking back on that I'm like you could've just added water and combed straight through it... smh
I love how we say this when this is the bare minimum, because all of our mothers relaxed our hairs when we were younger. I dont understand how none of them knew how to do black hair.. its quite sad. But at least we're bouncing back. My mother also said my hair was too thick and matted so she had to relax it... but she use to brush it dry. lol.
This video actually made me so emotional. I too am biracial and I am rejected by both sides of the family. My parents are divorced and whenever I spend time with one, I have to relinquish my other side bc it reminds them of their ex-partner. Even in 2019, I'm still struggling to accept myself and my reality I'm just so glad your mum and dad are so supportive of you and they stayed strong throughout all of it. Such blessings
Have you tried talking to your parents about it? it's not your fault you feel the way you do, it's their fault. They need to stop letting their own personal issues affect you.
This also made me emotional because both my parents are passed but I also found this video very touching I am so sorry you have had to go through that. It is sometimes so hard being biracial I totally understand. Hang in there
You have yr mom's happy attitude! Happy you still have her, this made me emotional, too, both my parents passed away & today is my mom's birthday, too. Happy Mother's Day Terry 🎉
My mixed parents are so weird my mom is asain and white and my dad is mostly black. My mom can do cornrows and my dad can make pho both are self taught lol but my mom all rectangles from the bottom up
@Beautiful Rosemary I'm triggered, "White moms with black babies." where do you come from where this sounds acceptable to say? Freedom of speech is an understatement.
You look just like your mum! You two are adorable and I love that your mom is so intense about wanting everyone to feel special and loved! What a great role model
im screaming!!!! when your mom twirled ur hair to get the ringlet done, my mom did the exact same thing! no gel, no product, just her finger and water !
I am a biracial baby like you. Except growing up, I didn't know how to care for my curls. In fact, I hated them because I felt like an outcast in my family and I wanted hair like them (my mom is white and I'm talking about her side 😊). It wasn't until I was about 21 that I gave up trying to straighten my hair as much as possible to make it more manageable. I didn't have the patience any more. So I vented to my friend who suggested Cantu, thus sparking my journey to love my curls. About a year later, I needed more help with management so I went to UA-cam and found a video about "curly hair problems". For the first time in my life I didn't feel like an outsider. I've realized that there are people who are like me. You are the first person I have ever subscribed to on UA-cam. If it weren't for you and your curl-pride movement, I would not love my curls as much as I do today. So thank you Bianca for flaunting your curls and inspiring others like me to do the same.
Mom did a great job figuring out the best way to make your hair beautiful. You have her to thank for your beautiful hair and thank her for not relaxing it. Mom and Dad our gorgeous.
THIS IS SO CUTE and i literally screamed when i realized you put my question in ur video THANK YOUUU... Your mom is so sweet!! Happy mother's Day to her, she is just as wonderful as you ♡♡♡♡
I’m also biracial, black dad and white mom. It wasn’t easy for them but they’re still married 30 + years later. Every Sunday night, we would be up all night trying to wash and detangle my hair in the tub. Then blow dry it and put 4 ponytails with Barrett’s at the ends.
This is probably the most enjoyable and honest video I've seen! Your mom is wonderful! I'm also wearing the same shirt as her today lol. Happy mamas day!
And I needed to add this... your mom made my day. Her sweetness melted away some hurt today and made me feel human again... thank you for sharing her warm spirit with us!
My dad wanted me named after the lady he was cheating on my mom with :) thank you mom for naming me Melanie instead of Brunida 🤦🏻♀️ you have to pronounce it extra Spanish to know how bad it really is.... Brrrruneethah....
Happy Mother's Day!!!! You made my mother's day... It's amazing I went through similar things your mom did soooooooooo many years later... I thought people would get over themselves by now!!
Your mum is so so cute I was legit crying emotional mama tears at parts!! I’m going to try be more like your mummy with my boys!! She is just so sweet ❤️
I am also half black and I wish my white mom could have done my hair cuter like that😂 my hair had only oil in it for styling and was always in a pony tail. No proper hair cut, no gel, no leave in, etc. regardless, I’ll always be grateful for those Sunday nights when she would have to slave over the bath tub for detangling time. Torture for both me and her lol
She’s soo cute and sweeeeet, I noticed that you’re soooooo loud and your mom is soooo quiet and calm I barely heard her voice, I loved her make more videos with her I loved also how she talks about you and how she encouraged you to love and accept your hair, she’s so blessed, spacial and perfect♥️
My mama is white too and she looooved doing this exact hairstyle your mom did. Either a full pony or half-up/half down, I almost ALWAYS had the little "curly-do's" or laid edges haha. Sad thing is I can't lay my own edges as well as my mom used to T__T.
My mum treated and combed my hair just like that but less patiently and it hurt so much I cried. I started combing it on my own from age 5 onwards 🤣 my parents and older sister also hated my hair and forced me to chop it at 9 (to slightly above my chin ) and 13 ( 2/3 cm, I got mistaken as a boy). As an adult I had it to my bra and even down to my hips again and it was healthy and happy and many strangers wanted to touch my hair and were admiring it. Now I got a big chop , back still to bra, front to my chin/shoulders. The hairdresser thought I needed a mix of a pony and layers - so I had to cut the rest off to make my svave ringlets able to form again. Being wavy-curly taught me to be confident in what I know about my body/myself ^^ and then act accordingly, trusting myself. Only self cutting from now on also! Too many fails even by "curly hair" experts.... Anyways- that's what your video reminded me of and it made me realise how much my hair fits to my personality and taught me great things! (Also about science, started reading labels from age 12 onwards due to my skin problems, also on my scalp, which made me interested in chemistry and only used shampoo for curls from hairdressers even then...)
I love your mom!!! She’s absolutely adorable!!! It’s no wonder you’re so confident, your mom made sure to build you up from the get go! Next video, you do her hair!
She’s so sweet♥️ My mother hates my curls, that’s why I’m struggling to make her accept the fact that I’m embracing my curly hair now. It was really nice to see your mother try her best even though she knew nothing about styling curly hair.
This is the cutest thing I’ve ever seen!!! Brings back so many memories of my mum trying to do my hair... also with one product... also starting at the root 😅 I loved this video!! Thanks for sharing 💜💜
🥰 this makes me miss my mother. Always cherish your relationship with your mother...mine passed unexpectedly almost 4 years ago. This is such a sweet video! Your mother is adorable! I loved the last video you did with her, too.
Aww! That is so sweet! Your Mom is so beautiful! I am so sorry that she had a hard time because her husband was black. That makes me sad that she felt like she had to hide it. So thankful that all is well. Your parents did a fantastic job! Happy Mother's Day to your Mom!
You guys are lovely. I have curly hair and I had to learn how to brush it my self as early as 7 years old. Did not know anything about curly hair. I had 7 siblings and there was not enough money, so I still remember that I had to wash my hair with bar soap, dish detergent or laundry detergent, when there was no shampoo available. Anyhow, when I turned 23, I started to flat iron my hair. I changed my hair color few times. I am 44 and a year ago I decided to go natural. I had my big chop. I still learning about my hair, but I am loving it. Thank you Bianca for all your videos. Even thou I don't have your hair type, I love to watch you. You are funny and real. Take care.
love your videos. I am mixed too my mom is white and my dad is black. my hair is complicated but still love my hair and do my best to understand my hair.
Your mom is ADORABLE and the resemblance is so cute!!! This was great, I def wanna see Mama in future vids, perhaps a Mom tag or another Storytime (that "How Bianca Was Named" was hilarious!). Dad is also super cool. Lovely family Bianca, or should I say Terasia, Teri Brown lolz.
Happy Mother’s Day Teri! Teri is adorable she should visit the channel more often. Loved all the questions she answered & I died laughing when she did your classic 1/2 up 1/2 down with the perfect 2 curls on the front.
💖💖💖 wish I could do this with my Mom... she would have loved if I had asked her to do my hair... she has passed but this just made me think back on fun and hilarious times thankyou so much! Gave me an idea. I am going to do my kids hair and maybe let them do mine! Just think we will remember these times and I can tell my kids some stories about my parents just wanted to let you know you touched me today lol I watch you all the time and you have become my curly girl friend that I never had! keep it up girl we love it!
The fact that she actually try to understand your hair instead of relaxing it to handle is awesome, she is such a good mom
Julissa DC my just made me relax my hair, I'm not mixed btw my is black. She doesn't wanna spend a lot of money on too many hair products
Yes!!!! My mother relaxed my hair because it "took to long to detangle" looking back on that I'm like you could've just added water and combed straight through it... smh
K Jones relaxing hair isn’t going to save you money. You still got to go to the salon to get it done and get good shampoo and comditioner
Vinci Vince not to mention most people have to redo it every 3-6 months. So glad im transitioning rn.
I love how we say this when this is the bare minimum, because all of our mothers relaxed our hairs when we were younger. I dont understand how none of them knew how to do black hair.. its quite sad. But at least we're bouncing back.
My mother also said my hair was too thick and matted so she had to relax it... but she use to brush it dry. lol.

@@Whimswirl I think they dislike each other too much to even talk about it.
@@Whimswirl It always ends badly
This also made me emotional because both my parents are passed but I also found this video very touching I am so sorry you have had to go through that. It is sometimes so hard being biracial I totally understand. Hang in there
You have yr mom's happy attitude! Happy you still have her, this made me emotional, too, both my parents passed away & today is my mom's birthday, too. Happy Mother's Day Terry 🎉
OMG the wedding photos with your mom and dad were so cute.
You look so much like her!!
I was looking for this comment 😭😭😍
Your mom is the absolute sweetest and so honest!!! And I think our moms definitely need a lesson on frizz. 😫🤣
My face when your mom started to detangle from the root 😳. My mom would do that as well! 😂😂😂
😁
My mixed parents are so weird my mom is asain and white and my dad is mostly black. My mom can do cornrows and my dad can make pho both are self taught lol but my mom all rectangles from the bottom up
Same
Lol noo u shouldn't detangle from the roots that's how u rip of strands of hair 😍😥 always from the ends then work your way up
Omg me too then her friends showed me that i lose more hair that way and to detangle from the ends up. Lmao welp my hair is better now lol
Terasia Teri🤣😂🤣😂🤣I'm weak😂🤣, "When ur pregnant ur stupid" Your Mother is AAHHMAAAZING!!! LOVE HER💖💖💖💖
Your mom's definitely the MVP of moms for telling you that your curls were special and perfect!
She said she used to cut the frizz off! Dang 🤣🤣
For some people that would be a number 1 lol!
@Beautiful Rosemary I'm triggered, "White moms with black babies." where do you come from where this sounds acceptable to say? Freedom of speech is an understatement.
Most of my frizz comes from the straight hairs amidst all the curls so I just pull them out and cut them short so they don't stick out. Works great.
thats how my mama did it
Kris W 😂😂
OMG! Twinning lol. You look exactly like your beautiful mommy. 😍
Beauty By VerShel she really does
She does. So adorable.
Tbh she looks more like her dad but inherited some of her moms light skin 5:43

When your mom said you help people who “are afraid of their hair. They think they’re different and they can’t accept that.” I felt that! ☺️☺️☺️
You are literally the PHOTOCOPY of your mother! Both of you gorgeous! Happy day for both of you!
You look just like your mum! You two are adorable and I love that your mom is so intense about wanting everyone to feel special and loved! What a great role model
