People tell me that "I just need to drink more water" or "use soap and water"they just don't understand because they were blessed to never have had acne.
Im one of those lucky bitches😅 but dont shame anybody that has acne. Cos we also never know if a certain case can only be improved parcially or fully when prescriptions by a licensed doctor are given to that person. And not everybody has the money to go to a doc and get prescriptions....or lives in a country where public hospitals are at anyones service for free....
fr. and the sad fact for others when they cant afford/maintain for products that work out for them. im one of those brokies and man it's a pain getting told about your acne forehead. instead of a "hello" i get a greeting about my acne lmao
Honestly in my opinion it's genetic because my friend washes her face but has acne still and me I don't wash my face enough because I usely can't afford it but I don't have acne I think it runs in the family
I how when she put on makeup Hyram didn't say" she looks really pretty with makeup" but he said" She's really good at makeup." That just shows you how good of a person Hyrum is
A bunch of people have probably said this already.... but: It really sickens me how rude the world is. If people don’t have anything nice to say, they shouldn’t say anything at all. As a gay man, sometimes i used to get terrified to be myself bc i was worried i would get beat up or called gay slurs. But now these days, I’ve learned that mean people and comments can change who i am. This may have went off topic, but i just wanted to say it.
"the way she presents herself is not advertising. she is not to be purchased or used at your disposal. the only way that statement makes sense is if you view women or people as objects." i have been trying to find a way to explain this for years and you did it perfectly in seconds. thank you, Hyram.
And I was forced to do a project with them and they did nothing not even approve of the title I still wrote there names my friends say why do you do this
@@ayyooomys9757 yeah why you do this? You're just enabling them to keep hurting you. Why are you trying to be friends with people who obviously have very different core values than you?
Agreed. People who are mean don't understand what it means to not hurt others. To not let others go through what you went through. They are full of hate. Sometimes you should not give kindness to rude people because, honestly, there comes a point when nice people will be fed up with people are ungrateful.
nothing makes me more frustrated then when people say “do you even wash your face?” to acne sufferers. I’ve had acne since I was 13 and I’m 19 now, I have both a morning and night time skin routine, I drink plenty of water and eat pretty healthy and I still suffer with acne. acne is NORMAL. everyone suffers with spots and breakouts.
RIGHT LIKE PEOPLE CAN'T HELP THAT. THEY DIDN'T CHOOSE ACNE. i am scared because my class starts tomorrow. and i have bumps and dark spots on my forehead. i tried everything i could and all the products i could use to take all those bumps and dark spots away but it keeps coming. i was so stressed. i wish i had a clear pretty face like everyone else.
Inosuke Hashibira I honestly understand where you’re coming from, my acne was at its worst from 15-17 when I was still at school and it was awful. One important thing to remember is that no one has ‘perfect skin’ - sure some people have it worse then others when it comes to breakouts but everyone gets them!! I promise you that are beautiful inside and out and that you are worth so much more then your acne ❤️
@@inosukehashibira7598 Everyone has at least one issue they are insecure about. While you notice their "clear pretty face", they are more worried about their hair they think is frizzy, their nose they think is too big or that their body isn't in good enough shape. Every person alive of every age has a part of their physical appearance which don't like and worry about themselves.
literally crying🥺 Hyram you’re such a kind loving human, you’re the type of person i’d want to be best friends with. it warms my heart seeing how kind hearted and accepting you are💗
I've had people tell me I look hideous because of my acne scars. One time someone said "I could take a vodka shot in the dent in your forehead". (I have some acne pockmarks). statements like that just reinforce the already self negative thoughts people with acne or acne scars face. It's like, the negative words in our own minds are reinforced by other mean people. You are beautiful, with every imperfection do not let MEANIES GET YOU DOWN.
Unfortunately people will always find something to criticize... I never had bad acne (of course I struggle with pimples- but not many), nonetheless I struggled with an eating disorder many years ago and I realized recently that loving my body, my imperfections and myself the way I am...made me STRONGER...and less caring of what other people think of my body! Your imperfections are your STORY and I personally love my imperfections and scars more than anything else...because they made me the woman I am now! You are beautiful 💕don't let anyone tell you any different
I remember myself crying while watching that video, i had severe acne and i hid it for a really long time until my mom intervened. I was really afraid, i didn't want to receive bad comments about my skin, it was really painful, physically, emotionally and psychologically. I was only 13 years old, I'm 19 now and all that remains of that horrible painful experience is scars. I have keloid scars on both sides of my jaw, i have regular scars around my face, they're healing and so am i.
your beautiful I already know it, its very heartbreaking how the world treats you bad for something they will also have, Acne is like your friend but acne isnt your friend they want to be in you.
I remember thinking that acne was the worst when I was 12, but after receiving a wrong treatment and being covered with keloids all over my body I now understand acne was not the worst my experience. I am now 22 and still live with my scars and acne, and only recently I started accepting myself the way I am with the love of another person. And no matter how happy and beautiful I feel sometimes, past insecurities are still hunting me.
@@winniethepooh5605 I’m 18 and little one it will get better. I still struggle with how I perceive myself, I still aviod mirrors in the public, but I believe it will get better. I only get pimples now here and there after the tretment, but the scars are there…
I’m 13 and I have lots of chicken pox scars on face, my face looks horrendous I have dark circles under my eyes and I have gross fat cheeks, I’m so scared my chicken pox scars won’t go away they’ve been with me since I was 7.
Its really scary posting ur bare face on the internet like that . Like if i did it 6 years ago people would probably freak out at how my face looks,i mean students at my school already did but i'm fine now and quite realize that their opinion doesn't really matter.
calling her full face of makeup "false advertising" really shows how some men see girls as objects instead of humans. i don't know why, but that one just stood out to me
To be honest, I don’t think is just men. It’s just people with no more decency or tact left. I have had women who are content with their own skin and don’t wear makeup. They embrace their birthmark, their scars, their acne etc... but people still bring them down. Similarly for those who enjoy wearing makeup, gets brought down because they’re fake. It’s perception. I always believe you should do you, do what makes you happy. You can’t win all wars, win your own.
Who said that it was a man? Maybe it was a women who knows women to criticize a lot especially sometimes they are jealous so they luve comments like that and say that they are fake ..... so yeah dont judge
@@awrakirisawa9439 In my personal experience, I have heard these types of comments way more often from men than from women, but you're right, it's not exclusive to men. Women can be just as nasty and judgemental.
greasytiddies it is annoying knowing there are men AND women out there thinking one or the other is and OBJECT we are all humans here and we should all be treated like a human.
*"She's not a f**king Happy Meal."* Don't know why but that specific one got me. I especially hate comments that say something along the line of "Catfisher" and "This is false advertising" or "This is why I have trust issues" just because someone likes to dress up or put on makeup. You're right, Hyram. *We're not f**cking Happy Meals.*
Things that are so triggering and that are not ok to tell someone with acne: -Have you tried to wash your face? Note: majority of the people with acne DO wash and take care of their skin. It just doesn't want to cooperate. -Have you tried starting a skincare routine? Note: As stated above, many of people with acne are deeply insecure and try at all cost getting rid of it. So most likely they do have a skincare routine. -Have you tried going to a dermatologist? Note: I've personally wasted hundreds of dollars with a dermatologist and nothing seems to work. Keep in mind that many people can't afford to go to a dermatologist or don't have access to one and that shouldn't be any of your business. -Have you tried cutting out dairy or going one a diet? Maybe going vegan will help. Note: What you eat can have an effect on how your skin will be BUT it is not exactly the solution for everyone. Besides that, many people can't afford to go on specific diets or are economically dependent of someone and don't want to sound ungrateful for what they are provided with. -Have you tried "x" product? Note: struggling with acne for years I've tried about every product out there. I might have quite a few to try but keep in mind that a specific product will not work for for everyone and not all skins are the same. -If you didn't have acne you'd be so gorgeous. Note: I don't even have to go into why this is wrong. Many of us are and SOOO insecure and already hate ourselves so that will just make it worse. Thank you so much.
I understand all of your points, except the recommending x product one. Why we can’t do that? I know not everyone would get the same result from a product, but if i know or heard some product is good, i’d love to share it. I have some skin problems and i would welcome product’s recommendation.
Game One I get your point, me and my friends always talk about new products we’re using and recommend them to each other, but when someone that I’m not really close to recommend me a skincare product, I feel kind of ashamed like “omg they noticed that my skin is terrible”. (Sorry about my English, I’m Brazilian)
Story of my life 😂 been struggling with acne on/off for 13 years, I find it so intrusive when people quiz me on what products I use and if I have I tried x routine etc. But mostly I figure they are just trying to help. I usually respond with something like "it's a working progress, I'm going to carry on taking advice from my dermatologist, but I'm happy in my skin regardless". If they carry on I just tell them I don't want to get into it. Hope this helps someone and sending love to my fellow acne beauties 💖
I feel like the people who tell women (or anyone) that wearing makeup is false advertising, are probably jealous and arrogant at the same time. Horrible combo. They think they are better looking naturally, but are jealous of the other woman's makeup skills, which they think make her falsely look better than them. That's the only way it even makes a little sense to tell someone that imo. Even then it is till very mean.
Its so unnecessary imo, make-up or not let people be. No one knows their story behind the make-up, different for everyone. I just started wearing make-up in my late 30’s, foundation i mean. I just enjoy the ritual, enjoy the flawless look it gives me and all the eye shadows that pops more icw foundation. But i do enjoy my no make-up face as well, only wish i found out about the power of makeup sooner😄 It’s art and if it makes you feel better, Why the f not!?
"Why be mean when you can be nice" should be everyone's daily mantra. I, like you, think the best of every one. It is very sad to see how awful people can be and it's hard to not let it affect my own mental health. You have a beautiful soul and the world is lucky to have someone like you in it. Please keep making videos! You help people more than you know. :)
I dont understand how people can be so terrible. It took me a while to realize that when people say negative things to me, the issue is with them and not me. If anyone says something mean, i just reply with “how can you say something like that” or “why would you say that” and you can see the embarrassment in their eyes.
it's sad, what has society become. we always have high expectations for not just other people's skin but other things as well such as singing, dancing, acting, etc. but if you are being hated on, just know that most of the times, its their problem, and not yours. You are a special person that is loved by friends and family. Ignore the haters.
@@IsaacZGR First of all you don't need to bring that up, and before I say anything you are entitled to your own opinion. Now, BLM does not mean All lives don't matter it means not all lives are under threat. BLM is standing up for all minority groups. All Lives Matter but not all lives are in danger.
Even on tik tok I’ve seen those “expose videos” with girls wearing makeup and not wearing makeup and the comments are like, “that’s illegal”. Why does it matter if someone wears makeup or not? People wear makeup so what. If it makes them feel confident why do you care so much?
What I also find annoying is that some people tend to think we wear makeup for a significant other. Not true, women and men wear makeup because they purely want too. And some don’t wear it because they don’t want too. It’s people choice
No one and I mean NO ONE has the right to bash or criticize someone’s body, face, weight etc. if you see someone in public with makeup all over them if they say they are beautiful then let them. It’s like . . . Sometimes I wonder if these people leaving these comments ever think “this comment might hurt someone. This comment might make someone hate themselves. This comment may push someone over the edge. This comment may be the breaking point for someone”. Plz remember that YOU are beautiful and YOU are worthy
They can. The people who say those things high key hate themselves and take out their lack of self esteem on others ESPECIALLY those they are jealous of.
C. Watson exactly and I don’t think those people realize that 1: hate comments especially on Instagram are allowed to be reported and taken down, for bullying and harassment and 2: if God forbid someone ever committed suicide due to comments like that and they took screenshots....once the police get involved those people who left the comments could actually get arrested, and if they had sent threats online...that’s considered as a criminal offense.
*"But they don't hit as deep because I already hate myself."* I was expecting him to laugh after that, like it was a joke; but when he didn't I got super worried. Please don't hate yourself, you are a precious human being. No one is perfect and you have done so much to help the earth as it is.
SOME THINGS TO DO TO HELP: - instead of phrasing “how to get rid of X problem” try “ restore health and balance of skin when X happens” or “how to help your skin take care of itself when X happens” (not that catchy of a title but that’s the direction to move toward) -show/ talk about pores of skin Pores aren’t normalized, we have blurring filters and pore blurring makeup Why is having pores a flaw? That’s literally what skin is... it’s porous like a sponge and absorbs the environment and what you put on it - show/ talk about normalizing discoloration/ hyperpigmentation/ unevenness/ redness Skin isn’t just one color! It’s hundreds if not thousands of colors! - if you’re gonna show us your skin, show us! And NOT APOLOGIZE for being too close or self deprecating I hate when beauty gurus are all like “okay now that I’ve brought you in SUPER close to my face, ugh sorry now you can see everything ugh so gross” and their head doesn’t even take up the entire frame and they still look blurred and flawless... like I wanna see the 5x magnification mirror zoom on your face, basically showing what actual skin looks and not being ashamed of it Edit: Also Hyram, I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for noticing AND caring about the issue of perspective when it comes to skincare AND wanting to shift it to be positive! The entire beauty industry is built up from tearing down consumer self esteems. As a result, we are constantly buying to “fix” what the industry advertises is “wrong” with our skin, hair, and body- when in reality what’s “wrong” is just what’s HUMAN. All in all, I think you are such a wonderful human for caring about this issue, and so many other issues (let’s go Merch with A Purpose!) I am so happy you have a platform and that you want to use it to bring about so much positive change in so many different ways! :)
I had a guy address me as "oh! That girl with lot of pimples " back in college . I never felt this broken ever. My mom took me to dermat afterwards because I was crying uncontrollably that day
Someone did that to me and I thought they were my friend at the time. It makes you feel like the only thing anyone will ever see about me is my acne. But im slowly learning that its never something to be ashamed of. And I hope that you know you are not defined by your acne and it doesn't make you any less beautiful!!
The worst thing to me about my acne - and I’ve had it for 12 years now - is unsolicited advice. Especially because most of the time it comes from people that get like one tiny pimple every two month that they’ll complain about for two days straight. Like I have tried every single skincare routine and diet on the planet, have been on accutane, birthcontrol and antibiotics but they‘ll be like „You should put toothpaste on your pimples to dry them out“. Anyways, thank you so much Hyram. Acne is controlling my life and I’m trying so hard not to give a shit about what people think about it anymore. Seeing you and other creators trying to normalize it helps a lot.
*Letting go or not giving a shit does not mean stop caring. It means you should stop trying to force others to.* And if they still bother you, just carry a fork. When they start talking shit again even if it ain't about your acne say *"thank you Lord for this meal I'm about to have"* then charge at them. They may think your crazy but at least they'll stay away after that.
Im not trying to take away from ur point cuz like, no one should comment on ppls appearances like that, and im not trying to discredit your experience or b mean in any way... But if someone who has only one or two pimples is giving u acne advice, maybe that means it's good advice?
@@Mualskii I'm sure what they meant was that not alot of people understand the real meaning behind having bad acne when the other person just has small once a month breakout. It's can be offensive when someone looks at you and says "You know what would help with that acne-" and give advice when it's so obvious that they don't understand. Basically, when someone isn't asking for advice then they shouldn't and should try to refrain from giving their opinions/advice. I'm not saying it's completely rude or out of line to give someone advice. It may be good advice but it's most of the time something that the person already tried many different times and many different ways.
True. I can relate to this on a personal level, and I'm sure a lot of people do too. One teacher on my school once told me: “Your acne is caused by satan. Pray to God and get close to him, and it'll go away.” Miss, excuse me what the fuck. I am *very* offended right here. So you're telling me that I'm not taking care of my skin? Bitch you have no idea how much effort I put into my skin's current state. Also there's zero relation between skin problems and get close to God! Sooo frustrating! I'm just a teenager and my acne is hormonal, leave me alone!
Lol, no if you only deal with one or two pimples I can guarantee you the advice you'd give to someone like me with extremely oily, Sensitive!, acne-prone skin due to hormones is the MOST USELESS THING I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Mind you, if it comes from a place of love, I always openly listen. But most of humanity seems to be terrible at giving advice.... "You look awful, you should wash your face!" Everyone's skin is different and all we can do is learn what the different products do to OUR particular skin and improve our skincare routine. I have an 8 step routine before bedtime and 6 steps for the AM. Mixed with periodic retinol, facials, and AHA mask. And I sometimes will still get a couple of pimples. If I don't wash my face ONCE, it punishes me lol. And, alternatively, I have friends with super dry skin that could shower once per week and their skin would not care lol. So i don't feel qualified to give them advice and I always take their advice with a grain of salt.
I have been bullied most of my life and one thing I stand by is that I have never left a hate comment no matter who the person is. That makes me feel good ❤️
Please don’t say that you hate yourself. It breaks my heart when you say that. I am an over 40 woman who watches your channel and I do not have acne or oily skin but your reviews on products have helped me more than once. You are wonderful at what you do and seem like such a compassionate and kind person. Thanks for everything you do 🙂 Much love to you!
I just love Hyram. I truly can’t imagine why he doesn’t love himself, as he is such a kind, smart, and caring person. I love how he didn’t hold back, and decided to react to this video. The internet needs more people like Hyram. Ps- Hyram if you see this, I’m OBSESSED with your new merch. Congrats!! I plan on ordering a phone case very soon💕💕
People say it’s “misleading” when they wear makeup. Tf do you think they have glittery eyelids and winged eyeliner naturally? But if they wear makeup they can and if they don’t want to they don’t have to they are beautiful either way :) (edit: a lot of people actually have a really good skincare routine, but their acne just doesn’t go away but that doesn’t mean they aren’t clean/hygienic :) )
When I had horrible cystic acne, you really helped me so much. I would watch them crying. Now I watch your videos for fun because you're such an honest kind person.
This is false advertisement - "The only way this makes sense is if you view women as object", Thank you Hyram, that right there is the problem in society today
Same, I’ve always had clear skin, now I’m dealing with maskne and everybody is like “oh what happened” and I want to hide back inside my mask, like please stop pointing that out I feel bad enough on my own 🙃
Some people feel the need to have to point out that you have acne and saying “do you wash your face it looks so dirty” like ah i wash my face but like WHY do they have to point it out i know i have acne it make me So insecure.
I’m 100% percent sure you are beautiful with and without acne. It doesn’t define you and it’s totally normal and there is nothing wrong with it!! I know it’s hard but try and ignore those people, just remember you are gorgeous as you are 💕
As a girl who doesn’t typically wear makeup for a lot of reasons, I have a lot of internalized misogyny to battle about feeling like I’m better somehow because of it. I admire pretty makeup, but I don’t always understand why people feel like they have to wear makeup cuz I don’t feel that. I don’t always have a good first thought, but I’m working everyday to undo that and have a kind second thought and never comment on someone’s appearance unless they’ve asked and to be kind always.
I love your honesty and I'm sending you lots of 💜 We all have both the darkness and the light in us and pretending it doesn't exist only delays our personal development. I'm old (probably to you as I'm 38) and there are so many people my age who aren't able to be this honest with themselves yet. 👍
Most girls wear make up cause they enjoy it. They think it is fun and likes how it makes them look. They don’t feel the need to or feel they look bad with out it.
"Why be mean when you can be nice?" This is such an important problematic you put out there, thank you so much ! I was bullied all my school life since kindergarden for like anything: my curly hair, my glasses, my weight, my clothes... I wasn't a bad person, I didn't do anything to be treated like this, but people liked to be mean towards me, or making fun of me. Due to this I never had self estime and always felt that I was the problem, that I had to change to be loved by my classmates. But I realise after that it wasn't my fault. Sadly certain people like to be mean towards other for no reason, and it needs to change. I hope my english isn't to bad, love from France!
Wow. I’ve been insecure about something or another since I was 8 or so, and I was never even been bullied. I can’t imagine what that was like for you. Your strength is beautiful. Side note: Your English was great. 😊
Acne is not disgusting, having acne doesn't make you look disgusting. You can be beautiful and have acne. Beauty and disgusting are not opposites. Your value and importance does not rely on beauty.
I’m old. But this video brought back memories of my acne teenage days and the insecurities and shame that come with it. I’ll never get why people would be so mean.
This- just this- is so mean. I remember being told when I'd just hv ONE pimple being told from my friends "you hv a pimple right there, and there, and ur forehead" or " hv u ever used proactive" or " try a facemask" or "just POP THE PIMPLE" I'm like "you don't think I've tried any of those?!" So I grew up wanting clear skin but then I realized, no skin can rlly be perfect. Having "perfect" skin wld be impossible to get and even more harder to maintain. Acne is normal, it's great if u want to help with acne to feel more confident but NEVER to meet someone else's praise. "we all need to learn to love ourselves without the approval of others"-Melanie Martinez
Exactly! The worst is even people close to you can sometimes comment things like this, not even intentionally but the thing is it’s become normal to see things like acne as something bad when it really isn’t
@@pinkimietz3243 excuse me? many people struggle with acne everyday and i can tell you from experience that its so hard to deal with it. And who gave you the fucking right to call someone sensitive when theyre struggling with something so difficult?
Pinki Mietz um no. Just stop. r u trying to say that u wouldn’t feel hurt if any of your close friends or family members pointed out things that you feel insecure about? It’s not a good feeling. So pls don’t call someone sensitive.
My skin used to be so bad my aunt would tell me it was embarrassing to leave the house with me when I wasn’t wearing makeup, I have cleared skin now and she doesn’t make those comments anymore but I still believe them and it makes me a bit uneasy going out without makeup, because I am only comfortable outside with makeup on now people make comments like “when are you going to do a face reveal” but when I don’t wear makeup I get comments being called “Gollum” or “my precious” people’s comments do hurt and sometimes you feel like you can’t win, having acne doesn’t mean you’re unclean or it isn’t a result of your weight, more people should be told that their acne is still beautiful
"ur forehead looks like a dot to dot" "ur dirty" "why dont u wash ur face?" all things that have been said to me people can be horrid but dont let them bring u down u are beautiful the way u are and u dont need to change for anyone.
"Have you ever try washing face with xyz soap?" "You should cut on xyz" "Oh my god, what happened to your face? You look so bad!" "Just drink more water" "I saw one aesthetician acne treatment on TV. You should try, it's only 500 $!" You know what? The best treatment for my acne would be just a duct tape for those 'advisors'.
I remember watching this a while ago and sobbing. I went through so many changes in life that I took it out on my skin. I haven't picked it in a while but I still struggle. It's ok to have ache. You are all beautiful!!
I struggled with acne for a good five years and it first appeared POST high school. My self consciousness about my skin prevented me from being spontaneous. If I had already taken my makeup off for the day, I wouldn't do anything else because I didn't want anyone to see my skin. I missed out on experiences. I was so frustrated by this that I abused my skin with harsh treatments and starved my skin of moisture because I believed I was too oily. Of course, I know now that this only worsened and prolonged my acne. It made me feel so terrible, and looking back it is so sad to me that I spent so much time worrying about my skin. I don't want anyone to feel that way, or miss out on experiences because of acne. There is so much more to you.
I think it would be really cool if you made a video that addressed all the different parts of an acne journey and how to deal with them. Personally, I have experienced everything from cystic acne to fungal acne to acne scarring. It would be amazing if you made a video that not only addressed products that would help but also just breaking down the science and exploring the mental health impacts of acne.
That "has she ever washed her face" is just killing me I used to have bad acne and my friends told me "are you washing your face?" and those shts made my confidence fall down
tbh, my friend just look at me and make a disgusted face, when i ask whats wrong she said it was nothing. tbh if she doesn't really meant it, it still kinda broke my heart a little lmao
I heard pretty much all of this in middle school and high school. It is truly awful. Thankfully as an adult I discovered Accutane which is the only thing that worked.
I just tell people who say “false advertisement” that they are really dumb if they think I was born with purple lids and red lips with highlighter that shows in outer space. Like of course I don’t look like that naturally.
I hope it is the most vibrant purple you can find :). Also, if you love makeup, just keep wearing it. It's great to feel beautiful with and without makeup!
Yeah!! Also we were born with a random face in a random body so how is that good, and the way we personalize our clothing, hair and face bad? Should your canvas stay blank? Or just paint it with nice colours and call it a painting? :D And if your canvas has spots, well then you can cover them! It’s a good solution for some people, especially if your skin care doesn’t do enough for you.
@@babykrul This a the same reason I give ppl who hate my tattoo. It's not in a very visible place, but whenever someone sees my (admittably) bright red tattoo, I say that I see my skin as a canvas. This is how I choose to decorate my body and ppl who don't like the look of it can go and look somewhere else lol.
Lmao, seriously. I barely wear make-up at the moment, but it's beautiful when people do. Is it a false advertisement to go out wearing a hot pink dress or blue t-shirt, because that is exactly the same thing. No-one thinks that the purple jeans you're wearing are what your legs actually look like, so I don't know why purple eyelids or lips are suddenly a false ad.
People need to start realising that words hurt. As someone with ginger hair, I’ve suffered from being bullied for the past couple of years non-stop and at first I was extremely hurt and it got to me a lot but I soon realised that they’re just pathetic and I shouldn’t be worried about what they think. Still, if left me with a lot of mental health problems and I wish that those people could see what they did to me. The point I’m trying to make is, you never know how someone will react to what you say or what they’re going through already. Being nice costs nothing. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL ❤️
Ginger is the envy of everyone I know- millions of dollars are spent trying to get ginger. Someone picked on you because they hate themselves and being ginger was the most obvious thing to go after. Bullies are miserable people in pain.
When I was 8-9 years old I started getting acne. I was so young I thought it was normal I was never insecure about it nor did I think about it that much cause my big sister has acne so I thought it was a normal thing. But when kids at school started pointing out that I have acne the way I viewed acne changed. The problem is that kids don’t know what not to say cause it’s rude. Now I’m 14 I started using accutane. And in one year my face cleared but I still have some spots. I think the problem isn’t with acne, it’s with society :)
I really needed to hear this! I've struggled with acne for almost 3 years now. I got rid of it for like 3 months! I thought it was gone forever, then I started getting breakouts again :( . I really needed to hear that it's normal and not the end of the world.
this really shows how horrible society can be! and it makes me sick. being a girl is difficult.. being anyone is difficult because there is always someone to pick out our insecurities. everyone is beautiful at the end of the day and no skin is perfect, because that is not human!! so so sorry for anybody going through all these horrible comments being made to them🥺 hope you have an amazing day xxxx
I have been struggling to feel beautiful with my acne this year because, my acne has gotten a lot worse this year and it’s hard to go from an average breakout to one everyday. The acne movement has started to help me feel worth something again and I don’t know how long it’s been since I’ve felt that. Thank you Hyram for making it aware on your channel.
Hey, I don't know who you are but in my opinion looks don't define you and most people don't win the genetic lottery when regarding appearance and such. So it is completely okay and fine that you have breakouts. In my opinion, the societal expectations created for people is designed to make people feel worthless. so don't fret. Your feelings and opinions are valid but make sure that you love yourself. And judging from the comment that you made, you seem like a wonderful, beautiful soul. And never forget that habibti.
It's really hard to have to deal with something that makes you feel so low about yourself. You might not believe this, but things will get better and I know I didn't believe that but now I feel great about my skin after having acne since I was in 4th grade. Keep your head up :)
People don't get that I'm happy with just several pimples on my face xD Going from several long waves of face horror story to individual pimples - that's progress!
You aren’t flawless, and neither am I. None of us are, and you don’t need to be flawless to be loved and accepted as a human being. We all have imperfections and we are all capable of greater things beyond our appearances. 💜
I’ve struggled with pimples and acne since I was about 11. I’m now 17 and my skin is still very red and usually covered in acne. I used to hate it, sometimes I still do, but your videos actually helped me to love my skin a lot more. I no longer spend hours trying to scrub away my acne. I’ve had people say horrible things to me as if it wasn’t normal, but it is. Your videos helped me understand that I need to take care of my skin and treat it well no matter whether I have acne or not. And that over stripping, over exfoliating or popping pimples won’t make it go away, and it’ll probably just make it worse in the long run anyway. I’m definitely only just starting to accept my skin the way it is, but you have 100% helped me to do that. Thank you.
honestly thank you for this video. I’ve been struggling with acne recently and it really gets to me. When I look in the mirror I cry because I feel so awful and gross about myself. So thank you for this video it really helped me to understand that acne is a normal thing.

Hyram, I know you aren’t gonna see this but you have literally cleared my skin. I’m so beyond grateful for your videos and every time I watch one a smile so much. + I wear sunscreen now so progress 😂 thanks beb
I can really relate to this... people often do not realise how effective comments like these are, whether it is on social media or in real life. I'm struggling with really bad acne too and don't even want to go to school without make up on anymore. I remember comments like: "You look sick." "Take care of your skin!" and " How can you even leave the house like that?!" It really can make you sooo unconfident and hating yourself. But, to every person out there that is struggling with acne, body weight or other issues, YOU ARE ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! All of this is normal and you will get over it!
I hate my acne but I hate when people comment on my acne even more 🙃. Like I know it doesn't look good I don't need to you to point it out. I am working on it, I don't need you to remind me. Like please.
YES MY GOD my parents are constantly and especially my dad always comments on it. he yelled at me this morning and even said he couldn't even look at my face because my acne was so bad
Yes!!!!! Like so many little kids I hang out with are just like "you have a lot of stuff on your face" or " what's wrong with your face" like I know how bad it is because I have to live with it everyday it cant possibly be worse to just look at it.
My aunt would always try and give me tips about what to do. It made me feel worse. Like is it so obvious it's the onky thing people see? Eventually she stopped but when I visit my family I always feel like it's the only thing they see.
I can’t believe someone has the audacity to say these things, every men, women, girl, & boy is beautiful, they are God’s creation and if u wanna make fun of it go ahead, u will pay the price afterwards
This got recommended to me 4 years later and I watched it yesterday and teared up cuz even I suffer from acne and have been called many things by people and seeing this again made me feel worth something. Ps love you Hyram ❤
Because people are not machines and every feeling is valid. Even if you want to be mean sometimes. Beeing always nice and positive is creepy. Not human at all. That's why.
Thanks for posting this Hyram. I'd somehow never seen it before. My acne was awful until I finally went on isotretinoin (or accutane) at age 28. It's amazing how little people understand about it, how they think it's to do with the products you use (I tried all of them over the course of 11 years I think! Topical products never did it, they just didn't) or what you are eating (I also tried every diet around, cutting dairy, cutting alcohol, cutting gluten, eating only organic, you name it) or something as silly as not changing your pillowcase or touching your face. Anyone suffering from acne for long enough has tried everything. They don't want advice from you, but something that they DO need to hear, is how beautiful they are. I never heard anyone say 'your skin looks great' until after my isotretinoin treatment. It did feel good to finally hear it, to hear that I was beautiful. But I have seen so many people with acne that I have thought looked beautiful too! It's true, she is really really gorgeous, and her message is exactly what anyone suffering from acne needs to hear. You're beautiful. And yes, I teared up too!
I almost had to stop watching. It just breaks my heart that people are so cruel. I find that people are even cruel to me ( a master esthetician) if I GENUINELY try to comment and help someone. Why is extra knowledge so bad? I wish we could all help each other to be our best selves. Open our minds to new people, new thoughts and new things. I always try to get men and women to stop covering up their skin and allow it to heal or to just love who they are and what their skin is. To know they are BEAUTIFUL! Many videos show people with so much make up! And it is not always reality. Yes Hyram you are so admired.... show your skin! I wear NO make up in my videos. I let people see my true skin. The funny thing is many other channels will not even acknowledge or help me because I don’t wear make up and I don’t promote it. 🍑Lisa Peaches Skin Care

I am so glad you over cake that situation and how can people even say that?

Unfortunately people will always find something to criticize...
I watched her back then and her acne was bad actually. In the video it’s not that bad but it’d be really bad some days
The way you explained “false advertising” is perfect
calling her full face of makeup "false advertising" really shows how some men see girls as objects instead of humans. i don't know why, but that one just stood out to me
this stuff is honestly so angering, she’s a HUMAN
To be honest, I don’t think is just men. It’s just people with no more decency or tact left.
I have had women who are content with their own skin and don’t wear makeup. They embrace their birthmark, their scars, their acne etc... but people still bring them down. Similarly for those who enjoy wearing makeup, gets brought down because they’re fake.
It’s perception. I always believe you should do you, do what makes you happy. You can’t win all wars, win your own.

Everyone is beautiful,
She can’t control how her skin looks like, she’s tried her best. She can’t change how she looks, she’s so pretty!!
Things that are so triggering and that are not ok to tell someone with acne:
-Have you tried to wash your face?
Thank you so much.
well said thank you
I understand all of your points, except the recommending x product one. Why we can’t do that? I know not everyone would get the same result from a product, but if i know or heard some product is good, i’d love to share it. I have some skin problems and i would welcome product’s recommendation.
😘🖤💛💜

I just enjoy the ritual, enjoy the flawless look it gives me and all the eye shadows that pops more icw foundation. But i do enjoy my no make-up face as well, only wish i found out about the power of makeup sooner😄 It’s art and if it makes you feel better, Why the f not!?

SOME THINGS TO DO TO HELP:
- instead of phrasing “how to get rid of X problem” try “ restore health and balance of skin when X happens” or “how to help your skin take care of itself when X happens” (not that catchy of a title but that’s the direction to move toward)
-show/ talk about pores of skin
Pores aren’t normalized, we have blurring filters and pore blurring makeup
Why is having pores a flaw? That’s literally what skin is... it’s porous like a sponge and absorbs the environment and what you put on it
- show/ talk about normalizing discoloration/ hyperpigmentation/ unevenness/ redness
Skin isn’t just one color! It’s hundreds if not thousands of colors!
- if you’re gonna show us your skin, show us! And NOT APOLOGIZE for being too close or self deprecating
I hate when beauty gurus are all like “okay now that I’ve brought you in SUPER close to my face, ugh sorry now you can see everything ugh so gross” and their head doesn’t even take up the entire frame and they still look blurred and flawless... like I wanna see the 5x magnification mirror zoom on your face, basically showing what actual skin looks and not being ashamed of it
Edit:
Also Hyram,
I just wanted to say THANK YOU SO MUCH for noticing AND caring about the issue of perspective when it comes to skincare AND wanting to shift it to be positive! The entire beauty industry is built up from tearing down consumer self esteems. As a result, we are constantly buying to “fix” what the industry advertises is “wrong” with our skin, hair, and body- when in reality what’s “wrong” is just what’s HUMAN.

I love how Hyram is helping perfect everyone's skincare routine and making us humble and respectful.
I had a guy address me as "oh! That girl with lot of pimples " back in college .
I never felt this broken ever. My mom took me to dermat afterwards because I was crying uncontrollably that day
What a rude ass guy, that's not a way to adress anyone. I'm sorry you had to go through that ❤️
Someone did that to me and I thought they were my friend at the time. It makes you feel like the only thing anyone will ever see about me is my acne. But im slowly learning that its never something to be ashamed of. And I hope that you know you are not defined by your acne and it doesn't make you any less beautiful!!

right
The worst thing to me about my acne - and I’ve had it for 12 years now - is unsolicited advice.
One teacher on my school once told me:
“Your acne is caused by satan. Pray to God and get close to him, and it'll go away.”
Miss, excuse me what the fuck.
"You look awful, you should wash your face!"
Everyone's skin is different and all we can do is learn what the different products do to OUR particular skin and improve our skincare routine.

They don’t feel the need to or feel they look bad with out it.
i struggle with this too!!

I get one pimple and my cousins tease me. They want to poke it, touch it and what not!
Exactly! The worst is even people close to you can sometimes comment things like this, not even intentionally but the thing is it’s become normal to see things like acne as something bad when it really isn’t
You're way to sensitive.
@@pinkimietz3243 excuse me? many people struggle with acne everyday and i can tell you from experience that its so hard to deal with it. And who gave you the fucking right to call someone sensitive when theyre struggling with something so difficult?

Lol 👍💕✨
Yea, it took me longer than I'd like to admit to realize that bullies are just REALLY insecure people that project their internalized hate on others.

Thank you.
