- Exploring new spots on Sam Rayburn, looking mostly offshore using Navionics App for my homework before I go out and then fishing offshore structure using my Humminbird Helix units and 360 imaging. Rayburn is about a 1/2 foot low, water temp is steadily climbing, fish are starting to set up in their summer patterns, good fishing to come. Also share my little secret blade bait I have never shared before, link below.

Ken, great videos. I appreciate you presenting info and fishing reports on Rayburn. Keep up the great job !
Thanks for watching!
How long of a leader are you throwing on that Carolina rig? It looks pretty long on film.
Usually 2-3 feet, longer around grass, way shorter around brush piles
Out of towner question...When you say "Take the route around the backside of Bird Island..." Where is Bird Island? By 147?
Steven when you run under the 147 bridge heading towards the dam, so from the Jackson Hill side, as soon as you run under the bridge there are a series of islands on your left, the biggest one we refer to as bird island (furthest out, closest to main lake). The safe route is to run under the bridge and immediately turn down the rip rap and run about a hundred yards into that drain (literally where they dug dirt out to build the bridge), as soon as you are past the first little island that will now be on your right turn and run between it and the one that will be on your left, run about 300-400 yards and you will see two lone cypress trees out there, keep them on your left by about 100 yards, once you pass them you are free to hammer down to Indian or Harvey, however IF you are running to somewhere like Veach, you need to swing about a 1/4 mile into Harvey before you run across as Amber forest sticks out behind bird island as well. I did a series of Nav videos several years ago, the video isn't great but this will help ua-cam.com/play/PLLzhji805wVxgI3p8OrVLytIgtIpAdwBk.html
@@KenSmithFishing thank you!
Enjoyed very much!!!
Trade mark it!!!!
Is that spot a Community hole I see other boats if so how did you decide to fish that spot?
Flint couple be one of two, in one bit there are three guys in a boat and they are out deep off the side of the point fishing a brush pile for crappie (I asked if they cared it I fished the point first), the other one the guy in the Phoenix by himself is Dicky Newberry. The first one I saw a river swing by shallow water on my map and went to check it out, the second same deal and we were talking and fishing different sides of the same point.
Ken Smith ok cool.
Good Thoughts ...and Ninja like reflex!!
The Fishing Ninja.... gotta nice ring
I would be interested in seeing a tutorial on how you use side and down imagine when searching for fish, if you ever get the chance. I’ve been trying to learn more and more about properly utilizing electronics.
I was out around Cassel-Boykin on Saturday and the water was pretty choppy all day... we put in at around 6:15am and stayed out until around 3pm had a pretty good day, we caught some cats and crappie, I caught 3 bass nothing worth bragging about pretty small but yeah that water was pretty rough... where did you fish Saturday Ken?
Most within eyesight of the 147 bridge on those big flats just north
