It is looking a lot better already. It sure is satisfying to reclaim land.

    Note to self .
start keeping your case of grease indoors near the woodstove.
Note to self. Place bricks for wood stove under the woodburner to absorb heat . Place in cooler with grease to maintain heat

Well, you got more done than I have the last 3 days. Started snowing on the 29th & didn't stop until this morning 5 feet of snow at one time is too much. They closed the main hwy down & the next thing I know every back road in the county is jammed with big rigs & city slickers all stuck and shit thinking their Google maps is going to get them back home down south! Electrical grid has been down for 3 days now & thousands stranded all over Hell's half acre! Just rescued 2 trailers of livestock that hadn't had a bite or drink since Thursday & picked up 4 stranded motorists walking the unplowed road near my place on my way home so now I have some guests who find my 120 year old wood-heated farmhouse "quaint".. Hope they like venison stew & biscuits cause that's what's on for supper. LOL

You have certainly got a way with words lol. Grease guns and zerks are a pain for sure. Your reminding me, i need to grease up my Kioti before i use it again... Need to look at the roll pins on my lock pins and probably replace them for my quick attach on my loader too.

My day job is a mobile equipment maintenance for a mining company. We use 120lb kegs with air pumps. Gets cold we put drum heaters on them, i think the low setting is around 70 degrees . Makes a world of difference

With an open station machine, at least you don't have to worry about breaking windows. Area looks better already!

Wouldn’t be able to have windows without a forestry cage or they would be gone.

Yep, we burn brush every winter. We to use waste oil to get her going. A place the family has been on since the early 1800’s, and we are still clearing.

May be worth looking in to making a tile plow to pull with the 4-270 to at least do what you want for some of your filds and also I found I love having a root rake to chain or hook on to my excavator when doing grubbing jobs like that they held to rake up the little crap

We're eating up with cedar down here I cut them when I can cause they take up so much space and grow so wide when there in the open.

We just got a Torrent shark mulcher head for my Bobcat 50 excavator, it's pretty wild. It'll grind a 5 inch red oak sapling from top to bottom in a minute or less. I use a tube of grease everyday without exception. It's a job in itself.

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy
      @Oliver66FarmBoy  13 годин тому

Looked at one when we first bought it. Can’t justify the cost. And if I remember right it was going to be marginal if it had enough auxiliary flow rate to run one.

    • @PAYNEKILLER..

@Oliver66FarmBoy It was like 25 grand, we get $250 an hour for it. Wouldn't own one without using it for town/ private work.

Probably not my business but just a suggestion you can take those filters to like O’Reillys or other places and get the numbers swapped over and put a different brand of oil filter of your stuff at about half the price😊 looks like you got a little bit of white stuff be careful

What about the guy you bought your new giant tractor from? Can't you make an arrangement with him to run? Rent or borrow a bigger excavator something with more power. I don't know what type of business he has. I mean, you mention that he had a fixation towards massive size tractors. Perhaps he has something you could borrow.Or maybe trade time. And all you could go and work some of his fields are awesome grain and use a bigger excavator that he has And there's nothing like taking down samplings with a big and effective activator he just grabbed a bombing, pull them right out of the ground move to the next even bigger trees but. I'm not.
Knocking what you have. I'm just saying you know, maybe that man or somebody else says something bigger that can accomplish more and you're not afraid to work. So maybe you could donate some time haul. Some grain forum that way, you don't have to put money out of your pocket.

I dont know if ya have access to a skiddy or not but we have a spade like bucket with a pincher or grapple like on it. If ground not hard ya can get under the root and clamp grapple around tree and take out with ease probly to around 5 inch sappling or so. Pitha job no matter how ya do it.

Skid steer is nowhere near as fast as an excavator
