Another great video. I'm with you on just about everything. I see the value of the radar, but my head unit is a brand that wouldn't "see" it (next one will for sure). So I rely on two very bright tailights creating an uneven flash pattern. I'm convinced that hi-vis lighting gains you something resembling respect on the road. The only thing I might add is photocopies of my drivers licence and OHIP card. Also a slip of paper with my wife's phone number on it. Lastly a $20 bill tucked into a medical mask.
Thanks again for the comments. Yeah, i first thought the radar was a bit of a splurge item but i quickly realized its value. But, whatever works for each of us. Just be safe. I really like the suggestion of the photocopies, as i bring both of those IDs with me, too. Cash & a mask...great ideas too! Cheers!!
I used to use the cream until I finally found a saddle that works for me. I ride 100-200 miles a week average and no longer need the cream. Wound up with an SQ Labs 612 Ergowave. I found out I couldn't do saddles with cut outs because the ridge on every cut out I tried led to a saddle sore. I wouldn't ride though without my Varia radar, front and rear lights and my mirror attached to my helmet.
@@jeffreysaffir1375 wow, that’s the first I’ve heard about not needing chamois cream with the right saddle. You learn something everyday! Mind blown…truly! I wonder if I definitely have the wrong saddle?? Hmmm. Anyway, thanks for the comment and glad we have the same must haves on the radar, lights, etc. Ride safe!! 👊

I have the Varia radar connected to my Wahoo Roam and wouldn't ride without it !!
@@shivsnorman absolutely! Ride safe!!
I like collecting data even though I'm not sure what to do with it - good job my training apps know what they are doing 😅
@@shivsnorman if nothing else, it shows how much you love cycling! Cheers!!
