Still watching this in 2024. I come back to this every so often when the Galaxy Force intros come back around in my playlist, but I had to come back after having the new Legacy Cybertron Hot Shot in hand.
Coby and Hot Shot/Exillion really were awesome in this part, and even were surprising Override/Nitro Convoy. :) And it also was cool with them shouting "FORCE CHIP IGNITION!!!!" together. :D
Agreed :) Just how Coby and Exillion/Hot Shot were in unison together after shouting "Force Chip Ignition!" along with the chorus to "Call You..." picking up as Exillion/Hot Shot pushes himself to beat Nitro Convoy/Override makes it an even better scene!
Coby knew he could get hurt by connecting the two cables (luckly he didn't) but he still did it anyway, he wans't going to let his Partner give up, and that scene where he and Exillion call for the Force Ship-Ignition, god that was Amazing.

WHUA!? A human doing something remotely useful in a Transformers cartoon!? Inconceivable! Also, I had no idea Override was called Nitro Convoy, let alone a dude in the original version. In the localization team's defense though, Nitro Convoy does look pretty feminine, what with the pink and white color scheme (reminiscent of G1 Arcee) and his small face and delicate facial features.
@The Fantom Convoy it probably wasn't that hard since the minicons are similar since during the atlantis search underwater, the kids used the minicons as suits supposedly. So just repairing, maybe taking out the equivelant to a brain and installing a proper cockpit assuming one wasn't already there. now i wonder if there is enough parts for the main human cast just like bud talked about toward the end
You know it just occurred to me....in a way a lot of anime is just super low-key Shintoism. The whole "Everything has a soul" idea, and here we have a kid directly interacting with a "car" that we know basically has it's own version of sapient spirit. Huh. I see you, Japan.

While I still prefer the English dub, this is probbaly just as or more powerful. I love this scene and Coby is one of my favorite human characters in Transformers

Fun Fact: Hot Shot is voiced by Daisuke Hirakawa, the same guy who did Kakyoin from Jojo Stardust Crusaders and He dubbed Loki from Marvel Movies.

Yeah, kinda wish there was an extra on a DVD release with the dub using this.
Dub has many errors though and the OST is sometimes very awkward and doesn't suit the situation
