Bought an all black ZX4R. For me, it was not necessary to have a quick shifter / autoblipper because using the clutch to control up shifts and rev matching is what makes me enjoy riding bikes. I already added a bunch of mods to make it look nasty, and next up will be a rear shock over the winter 👀 Zero regrets. But, to each their own!
This is such a great insight into this bike. A lot of people think the ZX4RR is a solely track bike when in reality its actually a great daily rider (due to the comfy ergonomics). I cant believe how many people argue that the ZX4RR is a horrible street bike when its literally the opposite. And this speaks to the other issue in this video in that if you want a true race bike you're going to have to build that bike. ZX4RR if you want a fun daily rider that you can take on the twisties on the weekend, and ZX4R if you want a bike you can build out for the track since you're going to change the suspension and get a better QC anyway.
I'm loving my 4RR. I don't race and I really doubt there are very many that do. Track time cost too much for me. I haven't had it flashed yet and may not. I'm enjoying the fuel milage and thinking about making some long distance rides on it. The roads between me and the Tail of the Dragon are great to ride. Even the short rides on the interstates are fun.
@@ScoutsOut It is but there are others that are just as good. I also rode the Pigs Tail in Arkansa. I've got several roads close to me that have a lot of good curves. I just got back from riding one of them.
Keep in mind, if you flash it you're voiding your warranty. And Kawasaki really are confident in this bike because the warranty is damn good. The bike is plenty fun as is, excellent build quality, and looks awesome.
There's no such thing a "voiding a warranty" in the US. The mfg can deny a claim if they can prove your mod caused or directly contributed to a failure. They would have a hard time proving the added power caused any damaged because the bike comes with that much power in other parts of the world.
I picked up a 40th anniversary Zx4RR for a base price of $9600 about two months ago. I had it back at the dealership in 3 weeks for the first 600 mile service. I love the shift assist. It will probably live a semi-pampered life as a sporty touring motorcycle. I already have a dedicated track prepared race motorcycle. What I really ought to do is give it a good cleaning and have a clear bra installed to preserve the beautiful 40th anniversary paint. It’s such an awesome motorcycle to ride, even covers distance well.
4RR if you're planning to do track days. Just REALLY set preload on the front. Just got done with a track weekend with N2 this weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised with how it performed.
if you install ftecu quickshifter you can have gp shift on the zx4rr in case you wanted both to be the same. Also it can be installed on the single r's as the plugs still sitting there behind fairing on left side of bike but also requires flash.
Nice vid Scout... Also... You know you're having a good time outon the bike when you constantly lose track of what you're saying just to get on the throttle and enjoy the bike... NOICE!!!
The way you ride just convinced me to buy this bike. I ride pretty hard as well and this bike looks like the perfect street missile to rip around the backroads. I found the 600’s too quick to really beat on it on the daily
@@ScoutsOut check the detailed specs section at the bottom. The rr also makes slightly more torque, I was told the 4rr is made in Japan and the 4r in Thailand, not sure how true though.
So I striked a deal on both models, the R for $7399 and the RR for $8199, I don't know which one I should go for, since the price got so low that the difference actually makes a difference.
@@ScoutsOut it's really good to own and ride, except for the black paint and the throttle. Pretty reliable I'd say, better than the Dukes. I'm not sure if I want to sell it because it's so unique, but I'm getting another CFMOTO for sure, possibly a 700 CL-X Sport.

I just swapped my Zx4rr rear shock with the bitubo one. If you're interested, I'm letting it go for cheap!
@@LuisRodriguez-bx5qt thanks but the bitubo or ohlins is what I’m looking for as well
Nice, yea it can take some of the everyday riding enjoyment away. Sounds like you’re setting it up nice, enjoy!

Man I bet the tail is so much fun to ride.

Nice, it’s so cool having good back roads right where you live

Yea it’s a lot of fun on track
Not planning on doing any track days
The RR will be mine😂
Haha nice dude!
Just went and looked at a 25 RR at my local dealer. Yep. It's gonna happen. Can't freaking wait! My first street bike
Nice dude, I’m sure you will love it

Going for RR just for the classic green kawa color
Nice ain’t nothin wrong with that, it looks awesome

Haha yea bro that little bike is a blast!
To me it's really a no-brainer just go with the RR.
Better suspension, quick shifter etc and not much more money.
Yea easy option especially with the price drop and small amount of money between the two
You live in the best place to ride! Great bike
Thank you, I am super lucky to have all these back roads

Got the R cuz it was heavily discounted and I planned to upgrade the KQS to a woolich
Nice dude!
Yeah got my 24 R for $7500.
Hell yea!
In India, both the models are available, the 4RR makes 3PS more power(80 PS) over the 4R (77 PS). It is mentioned on the Kawasaki India Website.
Awesome, thank you for the info. So weird how each country gets different specs

Crazy
@@ScoutsOut sorry, I had put the actual urls in my previous comment, UA-cam has edited them
Yea UA-cam is bad at sharing URL’s
I have the zx4rr anniversary edition. Pretty sure the only difference is no quick shifter, preload only rear shock and colors. That's it.
Congrats on the bike! The anniversary edition looks awesome
More than 2 grand price diff in Australia 13 or 15 gs rr is beautiful but for an extra 2grand idk.
Jeez yea that’s quite a bump for the rr

@ScoutsOut no, I'm looking to sell me CFMOTO 800NK to switch to a ZX4
How has the NK been holding up for you

I just got a ZX4RR about a month ago and broke it in, but I've been hearing this faint clicking noise at speeds. Is this normal?
Congrats on the new bike! Hard to say without hearing what your talking about
Once the new R9 hits the showroom floor I think the prices for the zx4rr will drop a good deal.
Man I hope so
The zx4r can be bought for under 8k otd already, zx4r can be bought under 9k otd, I don't know if they will go any lower than that
Spoke to a dealer today he said they sold 0 Rs.
Yea I was shocked to see one at a dealer the other day
