I had to pause this video because I immediately broke down…I love the way you parent man.. the fact she could openly express to you that she was sad is amazing..powerful..heartwarming. I wish I had that growing up with my mom. Everything was so tough love. But you go girl!♥️
I’m thankful you didn’t try to hide or edit out the fact that she tried to steal. This is real life and children that young don’t know that they can’t do that. The lesson you taught her was perfect and so is the love you show her. You are an excellent parent. Thank you for letting her express her emotions and teaching her right from wrong along with explaining the consequences of her actions. I’m sure she won’t do it again. ❤
You handled that well. You addressed the problem as soon as it happened, explaining to Laya that she was wrong without screaming at her but letting her know your disappointment ✔️👍I don't think that she will do it again 🙏
You handled this well Mya. I can only imagine how you feel and especially in those beauty supply stores. They be expecting for us to steal, but you did a great job
You handled that in an amazing way! Yes, most kids have tried it. She really didn't understand that it was stealing, but that is a good lesson for her to learn earl on, that it is. Good Job mom!
Miya you are an awesome mom. Teaching and guiding our little ones to do the right thing. Just a thought, sometimes let her make a purchase. Give her the money to hand to the cashier. She was sincere and said she was sorry. Letting her buy, will make her understand what we do. Your videos are 👍 awesome. Happy Holidays to you and family.
First I gotta say how brave, open & honest u were to even share this with us bcuz u didn't have to! I know u were hurt and embarrassed but u did a great job handling everything, ur such a great Mom especially the way u communicate with Laya! Keep doing exactly what ur doing with her and I really believe she'll never do that again! ❤️
I appreciate that you didn't edit that moment out, you actually taught a lot of parents the way to address the issue head on and teach the kids. You handled it well. You were embarrassed but didn't loose your temper! great job, Mommy!
👏🏾👏🏾 you handled that so well Miya…. You didn’t yell at her you calmly explained our kids need that! You are killing vlogmas this year, so proud of you 🎉
I applaud how you handled that situation. You expressed how disappointed you were in a calm way, which allowed your daughter to be able to safely say how she felt. Way to go mom ❤
I worked in retail for nearly 5 years while I was in college, and that happens way more than people would think. Although embarrassing for you, it’s better that the alarm beeped so you could address that action. Hope y’all have a merry Christmas! ❤
You did an amazing job with teaching Laya right from wrong❤❤❤❤. Layla did an amazing recognizing and expressing her emotions. You’re doing great mom keep teaching and Layla will keep learning…
Ohh Lord...She has my stomach in knots...You are doing an amazing job...It was a lesson learned...It was so good to see you discipline her, but still handle the situation with love...Great Job Maya...👏🏾❤️👏🏾❤️👏🏾
Aww God bless y’all. She just wanted to be like her mommy and wear press ons. You’re so lucky to have such a special bond with her. She wasn’t thinking that what she was doing was wrong and you did a great job at talking to her about why it was wrong. That was great parenting 👍🏽
Yes, it is very common for young children to do that, however, I’m glad you corrected this, because some parents will literally just laugh it off. 😒 You handled the situation well. One of my cousin’s children tried to steal a couple candy bars from the convenient store on my family’s street, and I was sooooo embarrassed. I had no idea until the man, who owns the store, told her to open her purse, when I was checking out. Thankfully, he knows my grandmother’s family, and my character, so we were able to handle the situation without getting others involved. She was like 7-9 around that time, I’m sure, so I was definitely like, “🤔 I know you know better”, however, I still had a talk with her, to let her know why she shouldn’t do that.
You did a great job explaining why she shouldn't take things without paying for them. My youngest daughter took some pencils out of walmart in which she had a love for pencils and I don't know why. She didn't beep when we went out door, but I noticed the pencils when we got to the car. I marched her right back in the store to return the pencils and to apologize for taking them. I handled it simular to the way did with your daughter. It is a learning experience that I hope will never happen again.
Okay I don’t have kids but why am I cryinggggg? Laya is such a sweetheart and you’re an amazing mom! 🫶🏾 Her being able to express her emotions says a lot!
Definitely just gained a new subscriber 💋!!! The way you handled that situation , The “yes ma’am “ , the sternness but not over the top dramatic tough love . I’m currently 5months with a baby boy on the way so I’ve been watching all types of videos on UA-cam and came across your video , definitely inspired me even more to have that type of patience with my son in the future … boss mom sh*t 💅🏾💘, I know das right .
You handled that so beautifully. You are such a great Mom. Young moms sometimes get a bad rap, but you showed us all how you can correct without hitting, without using foul language, and screaming. You were firm, but gentle with her. God bless.
Miya you handle that with so much grace 🙏🏽😇💕. It was definitely a learning/ teaching moment. Good job mom for talking it through, letting her know why it was wrong, and for letting her express her feelings about it. Way to go mom 🙏🏽😇💕
AND THATS HOW PARENTING SHOULD BE especially when the child doesn’t know better. People always tell me that I need to spank my child when he makes a mistake. But I prefer to teach him and give tough love when necessary. This made me so happy to see another young mother doing this. ❤❤
I’m glad that you kept this in your vlogmas. You handled it very well and it was okay to go through all those emotions you were feeling at the time. Laya understands that she can’t steal because of how you explained it to her. Great job and this was a good teaching lesson. ❤️
Mommy u handle that situation with class & grace and I can really tell that baby girl was hurt & sad by what happened…not by what she done but seeing how much it hurt mommy to find out she had done something like that!!!… Great job & parenting Miya & tell baby girl that all of her internet aunties still love her so so much and we are proud of her for understanding that was not a good thing to do🥰🥰
I've been your videos since you were pregnant, and I absolutely love how you parent Laya. I know for a lot of us, our parents would have approached this situation differently (beating/whooping us), but I'm so glad you talked her through everything. You told what she did wrong and why, so now she won't do it again. That's how do it!
All bad behavior is not learned we as people have a propensity toward selfish action she wanted it you said no she took it she didn’t know it was stealing but she knew it was wrong thats why she snuck it in her coat 😂 but you corrected her and that’s all that matters and you can tell she heard everything you had to say. It’s upsetting but Don’t feel bad or embarrassed she’s definitely learning
You're a great Mom!! Kids, and parents alike make mistakes along the way, but that's what makes the journey worthwhile. Love you & your baby girls relationship. ❤️❤️😘 Laya, is a beautiful and very smart little girl!
My daughter did this at 3 (I was 7 months pregnant) from CVS. We walked back into the store and I told her we ALWAYS pay for items before leaving the store. It was a teachable moment and she never did it again.
I love the way u handled that situation..u were actually talking, not yelling as u explained things to her... your lashes are the 💣..love ya and keep on pushing
You handled that perfectly Myia , letting her express her emotions while you were letting her know that what she did was wrong and can not happen again, I have never heard layia cry before she understands it will not happen again. I heard a little bass in your voice girl making it clear 😂 very proud of you, u are a wonderful mom.
Awwww, laya… she really is sorry. Your are absolutely right this is a lesson to be learned. You handled it well my dear. Your such a good mom! I love that you told her “ I love you” that is so important for them to hear. Even in not so good times. Can’t wait to see her hair!!
Omg yes thank for teaching her. So she knows not to do that you are such amazing mother to her. You are a role model for other young mothers. I really wish other woman would teach there kids the same way.
My daughter pulled that on me last month in target & when I tell you my heart dropped to my ahh I was so embarrassed it’s not even funny . So I completely understood how you felt
@@MiyaLashae exactly I almost froze I was shook , couldn’t believe it and she just turned 8 in November. She snuck some eyelashes in her jacket pocket 🙄
I don’t have a child yet but i would have been embarrassed because beauty supply owners already are racist this gives them another reason but i loved how you parent good job! 👏🏾 The fact that she expressed her feelings showed that she was comfortable with you and she won’t do it again a lesson learned!🙌🏾 She learned this young and that is good because whew when she is a teenager.
You are such a good parent. I actually did that mess with my mom as a child as well I was taught by my aunt (crazy ik) and went back to my mom and did it. I know I embarrassed tf outta her but it was learned behavior in my case.
I would’ve done the exact same thing!!!! You let her know what she did wrong in the exact place it happen, so she’ll next time and for the future. At that age they don’t know how wrong it is, but they do know it’s wrong! I’m so happy you’ve been grinding as hard as you are to keep vlogmas going & I super appreciate it!
You did really good. My mother (RIH) would have embarrassed me at the store and I would have been punished with a hand or a belt. For not only stealing but taking it and hiding it because she said no and I took it because I wanted it. I wanted to cry too! Just your voice alone scared her and she started crying.
My child has done this a couple of times and I have to always remind her that if I did not pay for it or say I’m getting it you SHOULD NOT be touching it. Lol awwww you did a great job of calming her down but as well as explaining to her why we don’t do that. ❤
I tried stealing out of the store when I was a kid around her age by putting the item in my jacket too. The alarm went off on the way out of the store while I was with my aunt and I remember begging her not to tell my parents and she was like like I HAVE to tell your mom and dad. Never did it again after seeing how upset my parents were and how embarrassed my aunt was.
Girl I’m reading the comments and like these people ain’t cry girl why when she said “ IM SO SAD 😢” I started dropping tears too 😂😢😢😢 you are teaching her right ! You are being the best mother that you can be and teaching her the right way ! I believe she didn’t realize it was wrong before she did it because I can tell she is being raised up correctly! Just a little mistake that she didn’t know was wrong at the time but I love that you talked to her because although she is young many won’t always be understanding which is sad ! God bless you and it’s okay to be sad baby girl just listen to what mommy is teaching you and you will be okay in life she willl never steer you wrong in life ! I have many friends and cousins who choose to learn the hard way , but I seem to always choose to listen to my mom no matter how grown I am . I do know that some things I have to choose for my self but if my mom gives me advice I listen and out of my 21 years I have never been misguided by her yet ! And MOM YOU ARE DOING GREAT SHE IS NOT THE FIRST CHILD TO DO IT AND SHE WILL NOT BE THE LAST ! I have done it at a young age and didn’t know either 💯💯🤞🏽 keep being who you are a perfect example for your baby girl ❤
I have kids & this broke my heart she was sorry and hurt for what she did I just wanted to reach in & show her some love she knew she hurt you !! Pretty little baby
It’s okay to feel that way Miya… I think Lay Lay knows the seriousness of picking up things thats not hers now…I use to tell my son and still do, IF YOU DON’T HAVE NO MONEY, DON’T TOUCH OR PICK UP ANYTHING THAT DON’T BELONG TO YOU… PERIOD…Start them off young because, as kids get older it can truly become a bad habit… ❤ Love how you dealt with the situation though…
I think you handled that situation perfectly, I’m old enough to be your mom and I’m proud of you great Job by the way I have been following you since your were pregnant, and I think you have become a wonderful young lady and a great mom.
I am sure we have all been there and done that in terms of stealing from the store That saying “kids will be kids.” is true You did the right thing, not only did you scold Laya, but you explained what she did was wrong Good 👍🏾 job!
*sorry I'm tuning in late tonight babes, but I did have an important matter I had to get taken care of, but I'm here, better later than NEVER* *I think every child goes thru something like this at some point in their "young" life. The important thing is, you tended to the situation and taught her, this way she knows it's wrong* *See, the parents that don't care, always end up with the kids who steal, lie, cheat, act up, are disrespectful, and eventually end up in jail. You did WONDERFUL BABE!!!*
My niece did me like that in Macy's she put a toy in her little purse and the alarm went off as we were leaving and I TAPPED that butt immediately she knew what she was doing I said NO she threw the toy on the ground crying saying I'm sorry. She's grown now but she still talks about it to this day that she will never try to steal again
I absolutely love the way yyou handled it! Great Job Mama! I did that once as a child- stole gum from a corner store lol the way my grandma turned us around back to the store and made me tell the owner what i did ! Lol never did that shit again🤣
Most children have tried to steal from a store ,and I felt the same way you did embarrass, mad, upset with my child, couldn't understand why she did that and where did she get from, it happen but you did the right thing by talking to her and letting her know what did was wrong and pointing out that stealing is wrong, and she not ever to take anything again if she didn't pay it,when something like that happens Mother duties kick in already and you know what to do So you did a good job,.....Mother🧏🏽♀️ ......Period !👏🏽 👍🏾 👌🏾 😀
You handled that very well it didn’t take for you to scream or yell at her to teach her the lesson. Which a lot of parents especially young parents don’t understand they feel like yelling gets the point across and it doesn’t for everyone. I don’t have kids, but I would have handled the situation how you did. She such a sweetheart man❤
Kids are curious and learn right from wrong in a multitude of ways. Your parenting is always on point. Most of us have been there either as a child or parent. Carry on - Lesson learned - More to come!😊
Girl I know I exactly how you feel cause my daughter did the same thing to me she try pull that on me I told her not do that again she cried and hug her I told her mommy not upset at she I was disappointed what you do did
When I was five I stole lip gloss from the store and my mom whopped my ass in front of everyone. It's good that you spoke to her in a firm way and you still said I love you. When your young you think everything is free and that stealing isn't bad, but it is.
Hey Miya Lashae, don’t feel bad I understand it is embarrassing. Trust me we parents we do everything we can for our kids and but when they’re that age still do they want to do but is learning experience and she said that age that she still learning, so that’s the good part, so don’t beat up on yourself too bad about it, it will get better happy holidays to you all trust me, my son did the same thing and he never did it again once it was resolved but you know it’s just Kids they learn as go merry Christmas sweetie

Yes it’s a learning moment now some kids see other people do it and think it’s ok to do it but once a parent tell them the right thing they won’t do it again👌👌
You handled it perfectly moma , my daughter hasn’t stolen but I have had that talk w her because I did it A LOT when I was small too I always keep a eye on her because she do pick things up and if she can have it I’ll tell her to put it on the counter and I’ll let her pay w my card and everything lol so she understands she has to pay

I don’t have any kids I got emotional when she was crying you are doing amazing job from teaching her right from wrong i enjoy your video ❤❤
Oh no! Just keep teaching and telling her the truth.❤👍🏽
Agreed 💯
I think you handled that situation perfectly, I’m old enough to be your mom and I’m proud of you great Job by the way I have been following you since your were pregnant, and I think you have become a wonderful young lady and a great mom.
I am sure we have all been there and done that in terms of stealing from the store
That saying “kids will be kids.” is true
You did the right thing, not only did you scold Laya, but you explained what she did was wrong
Good 👍🏾 job!
Awww your are amazing. She will never do that again
*sorry I'm tuning in late tonight babes, but I did have an important matter I had to get taken care of, but I'm here, better later than NEVER*
*I think every child goes thru something like this at some point in their "young" life. The important thing is, you tended to the situation and taught her, this way she knows it's wrong*
*See, the parents that don't care, always end up with the kids who steal, lie, cheat, act up, are disrespectful, and eventually end up in jail.
I probably would have overreacted . But I’m learning as a new mom that you have to have patience and understanding . You did a good job ❤️
Awwww I started crying when she started crying 😭 . But I understand where you coming from.
I absolutely love the way yyou handled it! Great Job Mama! I did that once as a child- stole gum from a corner store lol the way my grandma turned us around back to the store and made me tell the owner what i did ! Lol never did that shit again🤣
Most children have tried to steal from a store ,and I felt the same way you did embarrass, mad, upset with my child, couldn't understand why she did that and where did she get from, it happen but you did the right thing by talking to her and letting her know what did was wrong and pointing out that stealing is wrong, and she not ever to take anything again if she didn't pay it,when something like that happens Mother duties kick in already and you know what to do
So you did a good job,.....Mother🧏🏽♀️
......Period !👏🏽 👍🏾 👌🏾 😀
My 4 year old niece does the same thing.. very common with kids 😅
Girl you did good cause idk how i would react .. i was in shock right along with you
You did a good job how you handled it ❤️🥰🤫🤞
You handled that very well it didn’t take for you to scream or yell at her to teach her the lesson.
You are a wonderful mom. And the way you handle that was amazing.
Ur such a sweet mom with a Beautiful daughter she not gonna do it no more u handle the situation so well yall both had my eyes sweating keep being the great mom that you are & Happy holidays to yours from mines....
Hi Miya u are a great mom, you did the right thing by explaining to her what could happen, she is 4, but I think she understood. She is so bless to have u. Happy Holidays to u and your family. God bless.🎄🎄🙏🎀
Yes it’s a learning moment now some kids see other people do it and think it’s ok to do it but once a parent tell them the right thing they won’t do it again👌👌
😭😭😭 bro ur such a good mom
You handled it perfectly moma , my daughter hasn’t stolen but I have had that talk w her because I did it A LOT when I was small too I always keep a eye on her because she do pick things up and if she can have it I’ll tell her to put it on the counter and I’ll let her pay w my card and everything lol so she understands she has to pay
