The Final Resting Place of SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL

- The final resting place of Sir Winston Churchill is in a quiet Oxfordshire village. But why is his final resting place there? Sir Winston Churchill was a wartime Prime Minister, and arguably one of the most influential people of the 20th Century.
Born in Blenheim Palace just a mile away, it was Churchill's wish to be buried with his mother and father. The grave of Winston Churchill is modest and unassuming, with no large elaborate memorial. In the shadows of St Martin’s Church, Bladon Winston rests with the rest of his family.

Rest in Peace Sir Winston Churchill never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so few to so many Winston Churchill's famous speech
Love it. Thank you. The window was a lovely touch. I like how modest the setting is. So appropriately understated not garish and attention seeking. This for a man whose predictions and warnings have sadly come alive again as a great black cloud descends slowly enveloping and strangling democracy from the inside this time.
Glad you enjoyed it! Been on the list to visit for a while and we had just been in Ironbridge for the weekend and it was just a few miles from a passing motorway junction on the way home so perfect opportunity to finally visit. Lovely little church and the window is a great addition.
I’ve visited him and said hello. He’s needed again now. But he deserves peace and tranquility
Rest and peace😢❤
Very interesting. I live in viewpark uddingston. Nearby are the substantial country park grounds and hidden glen of what is left of rosehall/ Douglas estate. Sir Churchill had holiday lodge called east lodge in the grounds of Douglas. the road from the estate mansion still exists in a pleasant country setting, but, a short walk up this road that sir Winston no doubt walked on, reveals that the lodge he rested in is gone, replaced by the Coatbridge to Edinburgh slip road and it's bridge.
Thank you for this interesting comment. I had no idea he had a lodge there.
Liked 2. Another beautiful upload. We must visit this. TYFS
You should it is a lovely area and worth visiting Blenheim Palace on the same day. We need to go back and do that as we had been in Ironbridge that weekend and were just passing by late afternoon on the way home.
@@MemorySeekers , definitely. Thank you for this video
