Heart warming, congratulations on a fantastic vid that truly show cases what Fernie is about, the people! Love it, you have created something very special and truly memorable that I'll be watching over and over and sharing, Thank you!
I loved your film. I lived in Fernie about 30 years ago for part of a summer at the macrobiotic camp when I was 17. Your video brought back some nice memories.
Thank so much for your comments. We're glad we could evoke some nostalgia of our town. I imagine a lot of things have changed since those thirty years.
I would like to know the name of these songs in video. These songs brings some peaceful inside me and inspiring moments. If could anyone list it. I'll be very grateful!
Glad you like them, Diego. Will have to do some digging to find out all the songs names. This is what we know so far. The songs featured by Shred Kelly: 7:43 - The Bear 9:28 - I Hate Work 20:51 - My Vessel, My Grave
mate I hope I can move there one day! From the Netherlands, where snow is regarded a nuisance for the few days a year that there are a few centimeters... Then again, snow on flat ground is a bit pointless.
A wonderful powder movie with a beautiful town, enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to visit Fernie one day :D Greets from Switzerland! I wish you deep winter with loads of pow ;)
Wow, what i would do just to get one day of nice skiing! I've been a skiier my whole life but never something that nice or big. Makes my heart pound when i imagine my self there.
Fernie BC sure I wouldn't:) No, I haven't ever been yet. Actually I haven't even heard about Fernie, I just accidently found this video and I realy inspired by it. I will definetly come to you. Thank you!
Hi Quentin. A great starting point is here: tourismfernie.com/living-working/employment-opportunities There's plenty of opportunity for seasonal work, and more here. Just takes a little research. Coming from overseas, the first thing I would look into would be the possibility of getting a Working Holiday Visa. www.cic.gc.ca/english/ has plenty of information too. Good luck. We hope you can make it out here
Fernie, British Columbia! We hope you can make it over here one day If you love skiing, you should totally watch this. It'll definitely make you want to ski right now.

thank you so much for your answer. Im photographer ( instagram.com/julian.kurt/ ) and skier and saw the movie and it was like wow i would love to go there. and I really did'nt expected an answer at all.. Thank you so much for your help and next winter I come to town (-: . Is there much work in the summer ore would you recomment to drive accross the country ?
There a work to be found in town and at the resort. Again, best to do a little research. Summer time is fantastic for hiking, mountain biking, fishing, camping, golfing, swimming, nearly too much to name. As a photographer, Fernie, and the whole of British Columbia is a stunning place to shoot. So much wildlife, stunning mountain scenery, and lakes to be discovered. Driving across BC would be a mission in itself, let alone the whole of Canada. It's just a question of how much time you have, and how much you want to absorb in each place.
They seem to be growing in popularity - normally with more experienced skiers. I personally still prefer to stand sideways with feet apart if on a single board.
@@dewisselspeler9080 Beautiful country! Especially in the spring! Yes, I suppose Netherlands isn't renowned for it's mountainous landscape. Yet you are so close to the stunning Alps, and only a flight away to the Canadian Rockies
You guys are awesome! I come from a small town as well but I have to drive like 30 min to the nearest ski resort :(, but I want to move to breckenridge, co. Or this place would be amazing!

So I'm Mexican-Muslim-American. Since that puts me on the most least wanted list in America right now, does Trump maybe have some deal where I could trade my American citizenship to become a citizen of Fernie? I could teach Spanish there and Sharia law. I could help get all the ladies skiing in burkas. (The blonde girl in the film definitely needs some covering.) I'm also good at things Mexicans are good at, like finding awesome pow pow stashes, long after storms. What do you say, Fernie?
Whilst we can't give any advice on trading citizenship (that'll be a question for the embassies, and immigration offices), Fernie is always open to ANYBODY who loves finding awesome powder stashes!!
Hopefully it will be this good when I get there on the 27th December
Fingers crossed :-D
I just added this place to my bucket list!

Grew up in Sparwood, spent so many days on this mountain. Great memories.
Sparwood has a growing hiking and biking scene. Hope you can return one day to revisit it, as well as exploring Fernie
I love POWDER and 1 of best best ski experiences was touring BC in winter. We LOVED Fernie!
The touring is pretty fantastic here. There are some pretty amazing backcountry cabins here too. When did you visit?

I never ski here. Beautiful country and very good Fernie BC
Fernie is booked for January 22... Admittedly, a little scared; coming from Ontario and never skied deep powder like that before. Excited to try!
Exciting times! There's nothing like being in deep pow. You'll love it.

Very flattered to hear!. This would probably be a query for Fernie Chamber of Commerce. www.ferniechamber.com/
at the 2:15 mark what are those board/ skis called and used for?
That is a monoski. You can use your same boots, and bindings, but you slide on only one plant facing forwards
