    A very informative video! The Cello is becoming one of my favourite instruments to write for after the violin and piano

    Although, your videos are mainly intended for composers, what do you think about doing an addition to the orchestration series on the lost instruments in major composer works, like instruments in Bach cantatas, the basset clarinet in a clarinet concerto of Mozart, the baryton in trios by Haydn, and talk about the possibility of resurrecting these instruments and preserving the current ones in a way that leads to progress by compressing the information involved by increasing our understanding of their relation to current works and instruments, and efforts, however half-hearted, like those of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment to do just that?

    I like string quartes because it is a family of instruments, but I know that there is alot of knowledge to gained by comparing music of a great composer between their family and mixed ensembles. Perhpas you can do some analysis comparing music of a master like Haydn in his piano sonatas with his string ensembles.

      @@MusicMattersGB Hello! I know this might be an old video but can you create a video on how to use strings instruments on a daw, or link me to one if it already exists? Thank you!

      @zappyapp Not sure I’m the expert on that but there must be plenty out there.

    Nice video, so the cello has something like 44 different notes as i counted. Is this last G5 note the last one on the fingerboard?

    • @MusicMattersGB
      @MusicMattersGB  6 років тому +1

      Thanks for your comment. The highest note on string instruments is a stopped note, which is created by pressing the string against the fingerboard. In the case of the cello the highest such note is usually reckoned to be E6, two octaves plus a major third above middle C (C4).

    Wow I really thought that cello would have on average more range than me on euphonium
