You guys are top notch when it comes to taking care of your calves and your herd. I’m Thankful that your parents embrace the UA-cam channels and let non farming people see how and where their milk, cheese and meat comes from. You are a blessing to the Farming community !!
Hi Jan, watching your videos over the last two or three weeks makes me really appreciate the fact that we saw you in July and not now cause man it looks brutal there. It also makes me appreciate the grass base system we have in New Zealand cause there’s an awful lot of work attached to your system. Stay safe. Keep as warm as you can and I’m sure spring not that far away.
Sure it’s cold but the sun is shining. That cow must have had a favourite spot. I think Shilo is a boss cow checking out the workers. Lol awesome day on the farm! TY😊🇨🇦🙋♀️
Jan, that boot dryer seems like a fantastic idea. I hope it works well to keep your feet warm, dry & healthy since you’re on them so much. Stay warm up there!
Back when I was working on our farm, I saved up enough to buy 2 identical pairs of boots -- wore one pair each day and left the other pair to dry out in front of the furnace grate. Worked pretty well, and always nice to start the day with a warm, dry pair of boots.
We are at zero Celsius right now in Central Ontario. We are all still digging out from 4+ feet of snow over 3 days. As I type, there are two young dudes up on my roof shoveling.
Great video! caring and loving mom. Beautiful animals....and then there is the brutal cold. Love how you love your fine animals. Thanks for this good series of videos.
The boot dryer looks interesting. We have a specially shaped radiator on our dairy farm, onto which the boots are put at the end of the shift. It is also the boot shelf and heated all year round by the waste heat from the biogas plant. We also use it to dry the milking sleeves, as it is very large, as many more people worked in the dairy farm during the GDR era. Greeting from Germany, David.
High jan I love watching I’m a dairy farmer in Lancashire England You re farm is a credit to you’re family you have same cow number as we do I am envious of your calf facility but not the brutal weather we have just had a high of 15 c at night I had to put fan on for night milking but we always wish for no rain you have the opposite but it’s snow r record low in my lifetime was minus 8 c on Christmas Day once we weren’t prepared I suppose it’s do r die in Canada we have a pet cow too selima she is anyone’s friend but holds her own 😊
I have found the super large HD clear plastic bags used to store empty chemical jugs that get returned come in very handy to store loose pcs of fibreglass insulation.
Not sure how many of you are interested in the older model Case tractors. My Dad worked for Case and when he passed I was gifted a sizeable die cast collection he had a-mast over the years so I enjoy watching them. A video popped up the other day where they were doing a rebuild on a 1990 7140 Magnum and they ended up painting it black and ceramic coating it. I think it looks great. Reminiscent of the Demonstrator series and the Black Knight. If anyone is interested it was called “ We painted our Tractor Black “ by Circle C Farms. Thanks Jan for another great video, probably a little too warm for your liking today, back in the deep freeze tommorrow!
Those boot driers are awesome. I use mine pretty much every day lol. And if I forget to drop the boots off on it in the barn, I will put them on a heat register in the house lol. Important to have dry boots when spending 14-18 hours a day in them for sure Great video and yes so glad it warmed up this week. That was a nasty cold stretch for sure
I really have to hand it to you and your family, you all have a very nice farm and keep it really looking great. You folks must be very tough working in that kinda of temps. I went to Russia year's ago to adopt my son and it was in December and it was -26 when we got there and a few nights it dropped to -40. To cold for me lol.
Heading back from Saskatoon to my connection in Toronto I cloud see where my flight flew. Looking out the window we were over our tiny village of Killarney. Our airport is a bit small for a big jet .lol
How old are the calves y’all are moving today? You have a very nice group of young Holstein heifers-What I like is the uniformity of your young stock-I was a dairy farmer for 40 years and your videos take me right back to December 6, 2006-Y’all try to stay warm and healthy because spring will be here before you know it-
Jan , when you visit other dairy farms , small or large, after returning home do you & your dad brainstorm together ? Discussing equipment , material's , cost , - ECT. Now then do you for kast like 2 years out ? I know you can't share plans, but maybe touch base about process, thank you , keep up the great videos, I do enjoy !
Love ,love your early Xmas prezzie 👍toasty warm feet , just what you need in cold SASK 😂😂😂keep up your wonderful vids . Cold winter SASK is very nostalgic for me but don’t miss the 30 below plus temps.
Boot warmer...perfect Christmas gift... imagine if not only are they dry, but warm too, imagine putting your tootsies into that. Thanks for taking us along, love from Australia xx
I would feel silly to say it’s cold here in Guelph Ontario it’s been -4ish and to say we got snow would be silly. But for use we did get a good amount. More north to me they got 51 inches at a very fast. We don’t realize that cows are smarter than what we give them credit for. Certified cold crunch. Dry boots mittens coat is like crawling into a warm clean bed nothing beats it other than a clean car.
When we help our neighbor milk their cattle in the parlor we always had to uses a heater like that until they got the new heaters . They mounted their heaters up on the wall and place three heaters along the floor wall They all run on propane gas . They stay on low until we start the milking it’s set on auto so it goes up to high or medium . We don’t have a door on one side of barn that’s we’re our cattle come through into the parlor . They step into a solution for feet they have 20 on both sides . We trim tails after the milking is done and mark the ones that been bullied cup utters to be dried up and give the shots before going into pasture. I don’t know how much the tank holds but it’s on huge long tank . We our finally getting snow it’s coming from you it’s in Canada but won’t last long this weekend back in the 50’s and rain all week.
That's funny, cause share in the lower 48. We got us a weather forecast. People leaving the country, because it's gonna be fair to Donald Trump in January, LOL.😂😂😂😂
Well I don't think I'd like my head to be locked in when I'm eating. When she eventually did get locked in, it seems she ate more than the other cows around her.

Love the footage of the Calf Mover! Great video Jan!
Watching this brought back memories of the cold from when I lived in Northern Saskatchewan. The snow would crunch under your feet when walking.
Love the boot dryer! Got my husband one for home & one for him & the guys he works with. He works in a paper mill. He loves it!❤
hope you got lots of layers on!

Dry boots are a must at -30. looking good
Well warm dry feet are a must in cold weather you asked your mom for the perfect gift.
Your videos make me truly happy to live here in Louisiana. Beautiful bunch of calves.

Hi Jan…do you and everyone working at the farm have to take a fire fighting course/certification?
Thanks Jan for the new video. We at 103g FH and you at freezing point. The boot warmer is something new, an interesting gadget.👍

Your Calf management is extraordinary bro
It's warm today and also tomorrow here. I just wish the snow would all melt. 🤣🤣🤣Cheers from Edmonton.
Hey, would you recommend doing a year of farming in Canada? Geetings from Germany, comfy 4° above freezing
I always smile when I see the barn so foggy. Those cows are hot ladies!

Pumpkin is Naline's pet cow, Chiloo is Miriam's and Cheeta is your's..?
There is light at the end of the tunnel…..... just make sure it’s not a train haha
I was waiting for your Dad to ask us if we were ok! Lol great video as always, stay safe and warm 😊
13:59 F's given.... 0 !! The boss doesn't make mistakes. Jan has got to learn not to leave his crap lying around unattended
What is the blue tag you can see in some of the cows? That calf mover is one of the smartest things I've seen, where did your dad get the idea?
I'd be careful if I were you there might be ghosts about LOL 😂😂😂😂 with all that cold air and fog
I don't like Cold. Cold makes farming so much harder.
Your dad is a trip 😂😂😂

Here’s to dry feet.
Should have showed us that you were walkin to your truck with no shoes on!
Yes, I'd have thought he'd take the boot dryer to his residence in Asquith and dried the boots there.
I have pretty much the same boot dryer as you.
Really?? Does Anyone work harder than a dairy farmer??😂 Mom’s are the Best, right? I miss my Mom😢
Dad owe you a new camera?
When you’re cleaning the calf rooms, how do you clean the buckets?
Happy Dry boots to ya Jan

Well I don't think I'd like my head to be locked in when I'm eating. When she eventually did get locked in, it seems she ate more than the other cows around her.
Ma cose il polo nord 😮😮😮
BBBBBBrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
What method do you use, to get rid of horns?
I bet if you would’ve put a little straw in the calf mover they would of moved into it a little better maybe
so what is wrong with the case 2390?
If interested - I have about 100 ertyl tractors- all are 1/16 th several kinds jd-ih-case- mf- mh- most from the 60s to the 80s.
Cow # 674 said she's going on strike because her side did not get fed first.
