I was a big Happy Days fan in the '70s and followed the spinoff Laverne and Shirley from its premiere. Lander was a funny component of that show's success. I read his book shortly after my own diagnosis and it helped me to cope with things. He had a wonderful life by all appearances. May the Universe rest his soul.
I loved David's comedy! I am so sorry to hear of his passing😪. He will be greatly missed. Thank you for many years of laughter! Prayers for the Landers family! 🙏💔🙏
R.I.P to David Lander. He’ll be forever be remembered for his role in Laverne & Shirley and also as Principal Sqiggman in Scary Movie. He will be missed.
I was heartbroken when I heard he passed away. I love Laverne and Shirley. I watched every week. I hope Penny and David are Resting in Peace. At least I have the show on DVD so I can watch it anytime I need a good laugh.
I fully agree! I adored his memoir "Fall Down Laughing: How Squiggy caught MS and Didn't Tell Nobody" I have MS myself (and coincidentally my name is also Cindy Williams) The book really helped me feel better at a dark moment. I did have a similar experience to one of his where people thought I had been drinking, although it was MS causing me to stumble. I had not heard that David had passed. I loved Lenny and the Squiggtones. He will be missed. 😢
Losing Squiggy is the icing on the cake of 2020. What a lousy year now made lousyer! Guess Laverne wanted him Home for Christmas 🎄 You were perfect David, I hope you know that. Still a fan!
I remember actor David L. Lander from the ABC sitcom TV series Laverne and Shirley. His character as Squiggy . Lander and his costar Doug McKeon from Laverne and Shirley appeared together in the 1981 comedy movie with an all star cast titled, 1941. His career spans from TV to movies for 3 decades. David L. Lander fought a long battle. We all still love you. My favorite actor. David L. Lander 1947 - 2020 R.I.P.
Watching people who I watched constantly on TV when I was a kid,(yeah thats what we did back then, we didnt have the internet, I still remember when Pong came out) I feel like part of my childhood died. Rest in peace Squiggy, I'll miss you.
Laverne &Shirley was one of those few spinoffs that stood on its own. Lenny and Squiggy were the perfect complement to the two stars. Squiggy cracked me up. One of the best comedies of the 70s. No matter how old a good person is when they pass away, it always seems like they died too young.
Rest in Peace, David Lander.
R.I.P....!!!!
Can you do one Yvonne De Carlo?

David's costar is Michael McKean - Doug Mckeon is somebody else and has nothing to do with David or Laverne and Shirley.
Terrific character actor, terrific comedian. Loved Lenny and Squiggy. Rest in Love.

David L. Lander played Smarty in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" I've been watching it all day in 2020.
He also played the sports announcer in A League of Their Own. A role where he could sit.
