The Thai culture is absolutely not a hugging and cheek kissing one. This lady hugging a stranger means she gave out her deepest love from the bottom of her heart. The box of Ferrero is not a box of chocolates, it means she wishes him all gold in his life (not necessarily physical gold). You saved 13 people, you and the other people in the team. But you also showed the world that we are strong together, and that humans together can do things that are heroic. We need to get humanity back into our lifes.

He was in a 2 man dive group at the time, they both found the boys and their coach together. Diving solo in that cave in those conditions would have been straight up suicidal - even in a team that Thai military diver still died.
Great job catching John Volanthen at the market for a very respectful show of gratitude and having him speak on camera. A truly humble man he eschews the spotlight as so clearly evident here. As such he has refused sit downs and interviews leaving his diving partner to speak for them... though we the public who held the fate of the team in our prayers for two weeks were eager and now grateful to hear from him directly Brave on John. Now the famous artist in Thailand named “Chalermchai” is donations his money to build museum and statue of Saman Kunan plus Wall of famed several true heroes in there to show off our respect for their hard works.

They were worried about even the slightest danger to the children from the plan to get them out, but didn't give the same courtesy to their own divers. They saw clearly where they lacked experience in cave diving relative to the British hobbyists - and that lack cost Saman his life. Once is a mistake and understandable. Now it's on them if it happens again for lack of experience, so hopefully they get some of these people back to train their divers properly and encourage them to practice the skill regularly, that's what gave these British guys the edge in the crisis.
"They just want to serve their motherland" That's not it at all. They just want to be great cave divers. That's basically their whole thing and why there are so few of them around the world with this advanced level of competency in hardcore cave diving. Their nationality has nothing to do with it.

True, but also he would have risked his life for nothing too. That's the whole thing about him and his friends in the cave diving community that came to help out in the rescue effort. This kind of 'sport' is so insanely extreme and dangerous, but they love it for the sake of it alone. It's like they got told Christmas came early when they got the call about the cave rescue, they got to go cave diving and help people at the same time. The only real risk to them was failing to help the boys (ie the boys die attempting to get them out) and getting thrown into a Thai prison, which according to the documentary on it was a real risk at the time.

The stats: Contrary to media reports one diver took one boy out which is why it took three days. Jason Mallinson dived four boys out. Chris Jewell dived three boys out Rick Stanton dived three boys out and located the boys with: John Volanthen who also dived three boys out. These four men created world diving history which I’m sure will never be surpassed. I’m a UK diver (not caves) and can say having dived wrecks this was an incredible feat of bravery and organisation and from all concerned. Unless you’ve dived wrecks or caves you can’t appreciate just how dangerous it is. I can’t even imagine the pressure of diving a sedated child out of a cave🤔 Well done guys.
You forgot about the 2 Australians, doctor Richard Harris and veterinarian Craig Challen who they convinced to come and administer drugs to the boys to keep them safely sedated during the final rescue operation. Both of which dived to the other end of the cave for this which is no small feat by itself. Without their participation it never would have been possible to dive the boys out such a great distance with zero training to stop them from panicking underwater. Considering that kind of thing had never been done before, and the possible risk of backlash from the Thai govmt if the boys died in transit they all took a lot of risk even beyond the dangers of diving back and forth to the other end of the cave.

The current events such as mini wars , conflicts, dooms, famine, cruel, violence, catastrophe, disastrous, despair and hopeless people , happens in many countries around the world. But this is a lesson case in Thailand that , you can find love, kindness, economically life', abundance and calm. In this event, the kind experienced rescuers from many countries came to help the 13 boys, they extremely devoted themselves for helping them. You can see every one enjoyed working. People also supported and donated various dishes of food and drinks, facilities and shelters in the forest for the helpers. The helpers found friendship, fraternity , and joined the people to be the unity on the hard jobs . We can imagine that if we are kind to each other, we will have the happiness world to live in together .
