Could you ask Kempower how long they are waiting for a substation and transformer grid stuff to be installed by the grid management? In Germany there are so ridiculous long wait times. Would be curious how it is in Norway 🇳🇴
Maybe I missed it, or perhaps you didn't show them, but were there any disabled accessible fast chargers, I only remember seeing the slower 22Kw chargers at an accessible height and with space to manouver a wheelchair around the vehicle? Similarly the interior seating wasn't ideal for disabled & the sockets at the table may be too low.
Why is Shell able to do this in Norway but not in their (former) home country of The Netherlands? Are they not getting enough competition from Fastned yet? No decline in fuel sales yet? Not enough EVs on the roads? Honestly want to understand their business reasoning on this.
Netherlands has a lot of legacy political problems that plague it. As usual, the places that crow the most about how things should be are the ones that actively get in the way of any solutions that would make those things come true. It's the quiet places that can really get things done.
It sure is the way to go and the few gas pumps can easily be replaced by more chargers in the future. How dismal, smelly and boring were gas stations in the past? That's a very different experince.
Maybe for rest stops, but no way that work for most gas station footprints. Also very premium and most independent gas stations won't be sinking that kind of capital into a gas station.
Nice. Must have been expensive, thought (taking a lot of space, all that). I the future, I also expect some truck charging spots (if I'm not mistaken, they are not here yet). I've noticed a real father speaking :-). The speculation if a kid might prefer the dedicated playground or a dog cage :-)).

I am thinking more automatic on the average Supercharger. They are all about the robots. The one at the Tesla factory near Berlin just has some vending machines and toilets. On the other hand, I just drove around Europe on mostly Superchargers and often found a Burger King right next to the chargers. Conspiracy? I may have gained a kg just from this fact...

‘Accessible spaces’ is a much better way of describing the AC charging bays for those patrons with disabilities. 👍. They seems to have thought of everything. Pretty quite though. 😊
Seems to be a missed opportunity for these EV focused recharging stations to not have a few arcade machines in some corner... I mean, most arcade video games lasted anywhere from 20-60 minutes to complete, so that could help spend the recharging time while having something to play with...

The Norwegian banks already have their own instant transfer system with very low fees, also the government is usually minimally involved in that kind of stuff
No, we have our own UPI in Norway, and we've had it for a long time. India is a developing country, you guys are just catching up. Most shops in Norway have been using our national payments network since the 1980s. Everyone got a direct debit payment card back then. All shops accepted card payments since. Maybe I missed it, or perhaps you didn't show them, but were there any disabled accessible fast chargers, I only remember seeing the slower 22Kw chargers at an accessible height and with space to manouver a wheelchair around the vehicle?
Similarly the interior seating wasn't ideal for disabled & the sockets at the table may be too low.
now we talking, great
What I'm missing there is energy storage! Maybe lithium or VRFB or a hybrid LIVA battery.
Easy, Shell sold their stations in Norway back in 2015. It's a Finnish company called St1.
I wonder what the cost difference is for this VS petrol. I thought those petrol pumps were just longer spots for towing vehicles.
It sure is the way to go and the few gas pumps can easily be replaced by more chargers in the future.
How dismal, smelly and boring were gas stations in the past? That's a very different experince.
Nice, but rest area without shade without trees.
Maybe for rest stops, but no way that work for most gas station footprints. Also very premium and most independent gas stations won't be sinking that kind of capital into a gas station.
Very nice. Too bad the US will never build a nice new ev/ gas station in California.
Nice. Must have been expensive, thought (taking a lot of space, all that). I the future, I also expect some truck charging spots (if I'm not mistaken, they are not here yet).
I've noticed a real father speaking :-). The speculation if a kid might prefer the dedicated playground or a dog cage :-)).
That looks great! I wonder how it will look when Tesla does something like that, I've heard they are about to built for their own charging station centers.
Who is the chargepoint operator at this site?
Bjorn, what video camera are you using for this video? You should put a link to it in the description so you can make referral money!
Canon HF G60
I hope all petrols will be like that
Looks good. Really should have playground fenced off to stop any kids running onto the roads..
WOW! Amazing!😍
Where is the shade over the outdoor seating etc?
There's no need for that in Norway when the Sun is out 45 minutes / year.
Playground for kids should have shade cover
Kult, håper du skal til Mandalskrysset også :)
България for the win😃
I wonder if that A/C charging area parking lot allows people to sleep in their vehicles on road trips?
There is most likely no requirement for having a bus pass on the park&ride as it is in the middle of nowhere...
Maybe max parking time.
@@MichaelEricMenk Thanks!
You do realise the rest of the World is not like the US where you are harassed constantly.
@@DouglasJMark As of May 2023, there are NO parking restriction on the park&ride parking lot (ref Google Street View). Have not found any info about max charge time, but the park&ride about 10km west have a max charge time of 24h.
Love shell for their investment into electric chargers. Only petrol comoany that does it
It's easy to see how much it costs to refuel dinosaurjuice. I just don't get why they won't show the chargingprices. We need more transparency in the chargingprices.
It must be a government regulation to display fuel prices. That needs to be enforced for EV charging stations as well.
OMG Awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🔌
No review of the food options? New shell stations seem less interesting than new circle K in that way. Shell's focus seems to be "hot dogs, burger and buns"...
Maybe I should go over there and have a look :-) just half an hour drive from home :-)
Seems like they don't have K-Freeze there,😪
‘Accessible spaces’ is a much better way of describing the AC charging bays for those patrons with disabilities. 👍. They seems to have thought of everything. Pretty quite though. 😊
Oh snap. Free air
Seems to be a missed opportunity for these EV focused recharging stations to not have a few arcade machines in some corner... I mean, most arcade video games lasted anywhere from 20-60 minutes to complete, so that could help spend the recharging time while having something to play with...
Just reserve space for 10x more chargers for future need and that's it.
future looks good
Love it.
For payment I would recommend UPI. As in India it is the primary payment method for several things. And there is no fees to use it. I think government of Norway 🇳🇴 should use UPI payment systems
Cash "died" in the 1990s. Today, it's all digital wallets on iPhone/Androids, or mobile payments (on our national network). Invoices are digital and paid in your online bank app.
this is a sci-fi clip for the rest of the world... 👏💪
Hopefully they concrete under those chargers so wheelchairs can get right next to the plug.
Would prefer if there would be stalls for cars with a caravan or trailer. Now you will be blocking another stall I assume.
01:12 Why would they call the Shell station "more lonely". Talk about rubbing salt into wounds.
Because it is the name of the location.
A li is a geographical feature, plural form lier, and it is near Lone.
Lonelier..
Perfect
I like it a lot too 👍👍
