I absolutely love your videos! They have rekindled my passion for stamps and I am doing my best not to let collecting overtake my other interests and obligations! Small point - I think some of the stamps you are referring to as King Edward are really King George the 5th, his son. They look similar but George has more hair. George V was followed briefly by Edward VIII, and then by George VI. Keep up the great work! Andy from Canada.
Ah, great catch... thanks! And happy collecting... (I understand the pull of the hobby away from obligations, I work from home a bit and use stamps projects as a way to keep me at my desk, where I can respond to things. Otherwise I have a hard time sitting still... but balancing work and play is tricky sometimes).
Not a bad find for a whopping ten bucks, that´s for sure ! I think that the main value is in the British Commonwealth issues, not very often to be seen in assortments like that over here. Keep it up, and see you on the next one ! Greets from GER, U.
Nice find Mr Silk, looks like a good range of countries. British commonwealth stamps are some of my favourites, it's great to see you enjoying your adventure with us , great video Mr Silk. Terry from Devon uk
Great stuff. I picked up a worldwide album at the local stamp show on the weekend just because I wanted the fun of going through it. I have already found a couple of “treasures” in it- made the $20 totally worth it.
Perspective affects how we view just about everything that pertains to everyday life. One person can dread winter and complain about everything about it. Another person can see beauty in a snowfall; patterns of frost on a window pane and love to engage in winter sports. We love all that we have gained from collecting stamps, while someone else who doesn’t understand might ask,” Why you want to waste time and money doing that “? To them, a stamp might be of value only if it can be used to to send something through the mail. It is a matter of perspective. The $10 you paid for these stamps was a good investment, for one thing, the joy that you get from what you have found. There is also the possibility of finding more catalog value than initially meets the eye. For one thing, Great Britain stamps of the early 1960’s were issued with and without phosphor bars on the front. Some of the phosphor bar varieties are particularly good. The British small size regulars have watermark and other varieties. Some of them are good, particularly if a watermark is sideways. The 3 Singapore insect stamps can be good, particularly if they are from the redrawn set. The Kenya; Uganda and Tanganyika stamps you pulled out have perforation varieties, some of which are of value. So you can have a lot fun going through this lot and checking for varieties.
Wow, a really nice find! Usually stamp albums are the most overpriced items, but this one is really fair. And your enthusiasm when browsing throuh the pages - great! Best regards!
Used to be in Minnesota but moved to Spain .. Just did get myself a nice album of french stamps . Nice nuggets in it .😊 Plus some British Stamps too you will find several great stamp collector groups in Minnesota. For example the Maplewood group they have a monthly auction. There is a stamp library in Minneapolis to visit . Enjoy
Not bad. I love british colony stamps. Specially queen Victoria to george vi. I love early cuba ship blue color stamp.thank for sharing ur collection with us sir. Love from 🇮🇳 india
Think it is well spent money. The journey to get the album, the wonderful uncertainty of what you will find, excitingly driving home to flip through the stockbook. Nice video once again!
It's funny to me how often an antique dealer will tell me they don't sell stamp collections because they're so common... for every 10 stores I go into, I'm lucky if I even see a stamp...
What an awesome little album, well worth ten bucks! Did you check the New Zealand 3d flower stamps for Chambon perfs? (Pointy and fat as they are worth a little more than the standard perf).
Thanks for checking out one of my videos! I'm a worldwide collector so have a good sized German collection, though I've been trying to focus my efforts... easier said then done because I find a lot fascinating...
That won't happen in the UK. Thrift/Charity shops remove all stamps/coins from donations and are sent to head office for valuation and placed on eBay for sale, so no more bargins in these sort of shops.
That happens here too... I've only had luck in antique stores finding stamps, though occasionally I'll come across an empty stockbook at a thrift store. Used bookstores too ill find albums at from time to time
You should buy a metal detector and start collecting every US coin ish found by your self. I did when I was a kid and has found most of my country's coins. Not counting ancient hammered ones.
Totally agree... just finished a video on the subject, might disappoint some folks but bottom line, there isn't a get rich quick scheme in stamps and too many people are getting duped...
🎯 excellent stamps channels 🎯

It's too late, you're already hooked, your life is now 97% stamping no matter how much you fight it!
Skol!
Hi Matey. The chap you keep calling King Edward VII is actually George V. Cheers Jason from sunny QLD.
Yeah, bit of a brain fart.... :)

Seems like a great buy for $10! A wonderful selection of stamps there. Cheers
Been looking forward to another video! Thank you!

I need the coffee you drink...
Always in high spirits. Wonderful mindset you have.

Cool. Happy Thanksgiving.
Make sure you free the stamps from the photo album gum. Really liked the GB page!
Looks a lot like St. Paul! If you get up to Roseville, let me know.
You are lucky. I have never seen any stamps in any of my local antique stores or Goodwill stores.

First time seeing your vids, I’m
British and have a British collection, but my main thing is Germany, great buy for 10 dollars

I bought an album a couple of months ago and resold it
You can thank New England for your weather: if you don't like it wait a minute.
Ok i really like your videos are you from Illinois where in Illinois im from Waukegan ill and do you live in Minnesota i live in Rochester
Grat deal for 10 dollars.
The closer I get to retirement playing hookie is becoming more frequent as well, and I often am perusing some new philatelic acquisitions. 😅
HMS Victory.......not just any ship.

Holy cow... I had the same thought recently. Thought it might be something Junior could get into too... hmmmmmm
Seeing too much of the gouging on the most common stamps. If some fool buys a 1950's definitive single stamps for several hundred dollars!
